hey baby!

I love clicking on my journal and seeing Katie's face come up. I love that dog.

I watched the videos from the Pride Parade. They were hilarious. I especially liked the guy who said he doesn't rap and the couple with the veil. They acted so surprised at the questions. I love when people laugh a lot, it makes me laugh too.

I feel worthless and lazy today. I actually went out to eat last night and ate real food. We went to Carrabba's, the newest addition to Amherst. It was more expensive than the olive garden but not by too much. Two meals and an appetizer cost us 32$. Not bad. The eggplant parm was yummy in my tummy. And they give you warm bread to dip in oil and herbs. MMmmm.

We had calamari as an app. Its hard to think of it as a squid. I can't even say I'm eating squid. Gross.

random things

1. I agree with Lilho about keeping journals shorter if possible. Sometimes I read half and then feel compelled to move on to another journal. Gotta keep up. I am also guilty but sometimes I can't stop writing. I don't care if mine gets skipped. I just gotta finish writing.

2. Last yr. we had bikes stolen from our backyard. They took the most expensive bike and mine, the least expensive. In fact, mine was worth maybe 2 dollars. Rusty up the ying yang. I feel so violated when something is stolen from me. Like it was a personal attack. After that we kept them in the living room. Nice.

3. Happy Birthday Robin! I don't know who you are but I like wishing people Happy Birthdays.

4. I forget who said they were going to Alaska but that's awesome. Your trip sounds like fun. I've always wanted to drive cross country. Maybe one day before I really settle down.

5. I decided one thing I will miss a lot when I have kids is that I won't be able to walk around naked or pee with the door open after they are a certain age. I don't want my 5 yr. old to have a memory of mommy walking around naked when he's 20.

6. I told Matthew we have resident toads. Here's a picture of one. Tom-Tom. He's the fattest little toader and he likes to hang out in the grill cover. Katie likes to chase them.

Alaska

Last year about this time D and I went on a cruise to Alaska. It truly is a beautiful place. It just doesn't seem like its part of the US, you feel like your somewhere special and far far away. I guess groceries are expensive because of the distance from farms and things. This one guy we met said the grocery was out of garlic for two weeks! And milk costs a pretty penny. Here are a few pics. They're really small because they wouldn't fit any bigger. The last one is from Victoria, B.C. What a beautiful place. Seattle was nice too. Very clean and hilly. Wow was it hilly.

...

and I have to reference Jessbob's comment on Maculay Culkin. His lips DO always look chapped. Gross! Maybe that's his thing. Blonde, red eye rims, chapped lips to match and unfunny chit chat. He was on one of the late nights and he still looks 16. I'm not nice.

i wasn't going to but....

since i was on reading i might as well post. so far hummingbird feeder has only had one guest and it was a beetle of some sort. i decided if and when i get a customer, i will name it Kirby. Maybe its the lack of flowers in my yard joined with the fact that sometimes it takes a few weeks to even attract a h-bird. Kirby, where art thou?

I wish I had a pool to swim in. I think that would be the only exercise I could really like.

How'd it get to be 2am?

wisdom teeth?

more like ouchie hurties pay big bucks to remove. shouldn't we have evolved these teeth right out of our genetic makeup by now?? so yesterday was a blur although I am so thankful i decided to be sedated. i started coming out of it right when they took a drill to one of the wisdom teeth. then as quickly as i was waking up i was out again. i wonder if the heart monitor beeped to show i was starting to freak out. i remember getting in a wheel chair and feeling nauseas on the way home but i don't remember much else. nausea sucks. i had to stick my head in the toilet bowl a couple times even though i had nothing to eat or drink in over 12 hours.. i know it'll be all worth it in about 2 weeks. for now my diet consists of carnation instant breakfast, grits, yogurt and pills. soon ramen noodles and chicken noodle soup. can't wait.

i'm having trouble changing my user pic. i got frustrated so this one will stay for now. i'm getting bored of it.

hi hi hihihihih hihHIH HIiihhHI Hola

So we took a tripper to Toronto. The weather was great and I had a fantabulous time. We stopped at Ikea on the way back to get a cheap couch. We couldn't fit the mattress in the car so we had to return it 10 minutes after buying it. Stinks.

We ate at the Pickle Barrel twice. Their focaccia sandwiches are to die for. Mmmmmmm. We also had an appetizer of avacado spring rolls with some kind of Thai dipping sauce. I love Thai. Anyways, The Pickel Barrel should come to Buffalo. I bet they would do great business here. Or even Niagara Falls, On. if they want to keep it Canadian. I'll go to N.F. to eat.

Here is the sad part. I'm getting my wisdom teeth cut out of my face tomorrow. They are putting me under but I can't help but freak out about all of this. I have never broken a bone, got stitches, had a tooth pulled.. so I am just a little nervous. yikes!

I also decided to apply for a job at Tops. They are opening a new one near my house and I thought I'd go out for bakery or the deli. Its easy money and I got into grad school so I don't have to worry about a real job for a while. Now Tops just has to call me. Hey, Tops! I'll decorate a cake!

slightly amish/more polygamist

i deleted my last entry on amish people because it was very long and really my point about them and polygamists is that I just don't get those 2 worlds. I guess they don't get us either and I'm fine with that.

I saw a show on a few women who escaped a polygamist colony in Utah and they spoke horrible things. One man had close to 70 children. He had their pictures on the wall and they were grouped by what month they were born in and also named by what month they were born in. I don't see how that helps you remember their names but whatever. When the girls are about 12 they are sent to live with their new husbands who could be 40 yrs old, a cousin of yours or your uncle. Many children die from birth defects or are still born.

The question was asked about money. Legally one man is married to one woman. All of the other 'wives' are then seen as single moms in the eyes of the government and they go on welfare. Some women have as many as 12 children. They are really riding the welfare system. They don't use cars or anything like that because its evil and anything outside of their world is considered evil. Holy Cow.

this turned long anyhow.

i don't like titles

image

i like how the sketch is black and green now instead of white. that is a picture of a board because i'm bored.

yesterday i took a shower and was in my towel when the UPS man came. i freaked out and tried to pretend like i wasn't home because i ain't answering no door in a towel. so he knocks and rings the bell a few times and just won't go away. finally he drives off and i go down to collect my prize. there is one of those notes on the door and i'm thinking he's going to make me sign for it??? no, the note said package was on the patio! PATIO?! first of all the back door is completely open and katie is running in and out as she pleases. also, the gate is nailed shut to the decrepid rotting fence. its quite high and difficult to get over it without breaking it. well sure enough the package was right in front of the backdoor which is wide open for him to look in my house and know that i must be home. i have no idea how he got in the backyard and katie must have given him a great welcome because she didn't make a peep. i didn't like that at all. why didn't he just leave the box under the bush like usual and if he suspected i was home, just leave it, i'll get it!!! i'm waiting for a rug to be delivered who knows when so i'm making sure to shower earlier until that comes. like right now, to the shower!
