Lesson Learned... Part Deux
So we were presenting our updates for our senior design class the other day (Monday) but it was just updates pretty much, nothing all that big. So we decided we were not going to get all dressed up professionally (as in suits and all) so we were just going for like nice skirts and a nice top for the girls and just something respectable for the boys. Nothing too fancy!
So I picked out a cute little brown skirt, it went well with these brown flip-flops that I Love! (And I usually go with pink or white with this brown skirt, they just look nice with it. But those shirts are tight and I have been getting really weirded out by the professors for that class, they must think I have something written on my shirt really faint cuz they just stare, sickos!!!) ok, so I went with this nice little yellow polo shirt! Ok, all set! I left to meet up w/ someone for lunch then right to my presentation.
Too bad it was not until the middle of lunch that I realized what I was wearing. I LOOKED LIKE PEE AND POO! ! !
I felt so stupid and there was no time for me to run back to get something else, I had to go present in my pee and poo outfit :(
The only redeeming part of the outfit was that for the presentation I was discussing the plumbing systems of the building ;)
So there ya go! The lesson I learned was to not leave the house in BAD color combinations. But come to think of it, I always have bad color combinations, I got made fun of by at least 10 people last week for wearing a red and green rugby shirt, "it's not Christmas, you know?" (stupid people) and today, wow, I was wearing my mustard yellow "Boston" hoody, a pair of maroon mesh basketball shorts, and my green astro-turf flip flops.
Ok, I guess the actual lesson I learned was to not wear color combinations that can be associated with things, like pee and poo ;)
Oh, and on a side note, I went to my first ever job interview this morning. It was ok, the guy was nice, but I still walked out feeling like a moron. But hey, it was experience right? And I got to wear my suit! I look so sexy in my suit, ahaha, jk.

lesson learned
A prime example of that occurred the other day: I was over hanging out at my friend's apartment, we ordered Chinese, ate it all and were full!!!!!! Full beyond full!!!!!! Chinese food has a tendency to do that, don't you think?
Ahhh, so as we were sitting there, completely full, I rolled over onto the floor and said, "oh, I need to lay down a minute after I..." now I don't wanna say it. It was bad enough saying it then.
But the lesson learned was: although it's ok to say, "oh, I tired myself out" (from such activities as running up and down big hills, random example, but you get the point)
It's NOT ok to substitute "tired" for "ate" after you consume an enormous amount of food.
In case you didn't read all the way through and got a little confused, I'll sum up the lesson for you:
It's sounds very very bad to say, "Oh, I need to lay down a minute after I (past tense of eat) myself out"
well that's not even much better, but i don't want to say it again :(
lets see how long it takes for ppl to forget that one...

COLD STONE!!!
Cold Stone is AMAZING!!! you can mix any of their homemade ice cream flavors with as many toppings as you like, and they have tons to offer. the first time is always overwhelming... hehehehe, ask (e:amanda) . i took her to Cold Stones when she was down here, explained to her the whole process of ordering, but when the time came, she froze... it really is overwhelming.
but now you guys don't need to drive over 150 miles to visit a Cold Stone Creamery because ONE IS OPENING UP RIGHT IN BUFFALO!!!! (well actually Amherst, but close enough) here is a link from the Buffalo News, my mom called me this morning to tell me all about it!!! I'm soo excited for you guys!!!
the only down sides to Cold Stone are the fact that here and apparently a lot of them, the lines are always really long, way out the door (but that just offers you more time to think about what you might want to order), and the fact that every time you tip them, all the workers start to belt out some Disney song or something but they just change the words around to ice cream and Cold Stone (but again, some people really like that, i guess that's why they always tip...)
but when it does open, be sure to GO!!! and if you feel you might get a bit overwhelmed by all the choices, then ask (e:amanda) to take you... by now she can show you how its done ;)
and (e:amanda), can you guess what i ordered??? ;)

sushi...
Oh, i was so busy cuz i had a recruit this weekend... that just means that a girl who is interested in coming here next year to row was staying with me for the past 2 days... it was a lot of fun, we got to go to nice restaurants and do fun little touristy stuff and even after living here 4 years, i still love doing that stuff!!!
but tonight!!! the 3 recruits, the 4 hosts, our 4 coaches and our team manager all went out to China Grille out on south beach. people have talked about going there before and how good it is, but i had never been there and never really thought much of it, just that it's really really expensive and it's in south beach so it's gotta be a special occasion ;)
ok, but it's "family style" i guess, so you order big huge "things" and just pass it all around and share... but with 12 of us that pretty much meant ordering pretty much everything on the entire menu (it seemed) and eating it all.... it was crazy.
the appetizers, the sushi (I'll get back to that), then the entrees, and then the desserts.... but it was literally sooo much food it was insane!!! but sooo good!!!!
ok, so to the sushi!!! now freshman year (3 yrs ago) i attempted to eat sushi one night when a few girls from my team dragged me out to "experience sushi" or something like that... well i think i had a California roll or whatever the "easiest" thing was and i was really about to spit it right up, i couldn't get over the chewy-ness. it felt like i was chewing on flesh, not like i ever did that, but i figured if i did, that's what it would be like...
so for the past 3 years i have stayed far far away from it... until tonight
and now is when i wish i had a camera phone or something... it was the most interesting looking thing, i just had to try it, only 4 ppl were eating it and everyone kept telling me to go for it... SO I DID!!! and IT WAS SOOO GOOD!!!! and they turned the lights down real low just in time so i really couldn't see the piece of salmon flesh covering it. but it was really sooo good!!! they were saying that that was the best sushi they have ever had so maybe i jumped into the good stuff too fast and really don't like normal sushi, but regardless, look what i have been missing all these years, I'm actually tempted to try out that all you can eat sushi place now!!!
just not tonight, I'm still pretty full from that dinner, yummy!!! and what do you know, all free!!! go recruits!!!

finally...
can you believe it, they just stick to your head... just like that!!! they are called "magneto" by nike, but don't worry, there are no magnets involved, which was my initial concern, it's actually adhesives that are used to stick these things to your head...
who comes up with stuff like this??? oh, its americans ;) hehehehe
lots of silly stuff at www.ideo.com from (e:ajay) 's post
maybe that's what i should try to do with my life, come up with little things like that... ;) no, noone would hire me for that either :( hehehehe
