Hi everyone! Wow, It has been a really long time since I have posted anything in my journal. However, this event is major and I'm really excited to share!

My church, TheWay Christian Community, has just recently purchased St. Mathews Cathedral at 1066 E. Ferry st. This building has been abandoned since 1998. The community has been tired of seeing this building sit there abandoned and falling apart. David Torke, of Fixbuffalo, as well as BuffaloRising and other local publications have been writing articles on this particular building for quite some time. A couple of those articles:






As you all may know, there is a major sense of restoration occurring all around the city of Buffalo. Many abandoned churches and buildings are being purchased and restored for community purposes. Many residential properties are being purchased and fixed up. The community is taking this broken city into its own hands and I am so very excited to be a part of this movement!

We are a very small group of about 30-40 people. We are taking on a massive project and need some help getting the word out!

We have some contractors that have agreed to do $50k worth of work for only $30k, to complete phase #1 of this restoration. We can accomplish this feat if we get 1500 of our friends and community members to donate $20.
