Trying so hard!
Anyhow, I just my new job tomorrow. I am a little nervous. I have to wear retainers in my lip piercings, but one side of my mouth is thicker than the other, and I have to be creative in order to be discrete. Then, since I have my ears stretched a little bit, I had to buy plugs that are seemingly normal earrings, however, the ones I bought use those little rubber/plastic 'O' rings, and I apparently am allergic to them. How obnoxious.
With all that said, I want to thank everyone for welcoming me. It's wonderful to see that there is a community of friends in the area. I can't wait to start getting to know everyone.

If you don't have a car, take the bus. The 20 Elmwood goes right up to Hertel and it only costs $1.50. Here's the NFTA site with the Elmwood bus route :::link:::
Hertel itself is safe to walk. Not sure where, exactly, you would be walking from, but in general, your route is safe. If you're going from the general area of the strip to Hertel, that is. I say anything east of Richmond, west of Main would be safe to walk at night. Remember, walking main thoroughfares is always safer since you can be seen by more people. There is safety in numbers.
Good luck and have fun! Wish i could be there instead of studying or at work!
