Fall shoreline Sweep
Is this Saturday. Unfortunately, I'm not going to participate because of a wedding we're going to on that day. It really sucks because I really like doing it and I didn't go to the spring cleanup either so I could see my grandparents. Maybe I'll do some work on my own on Friday.

I really don't think simply picking up trash is enough because it doesn't fix the problem. Not really sure what the answer is though.
metalpeter - 09/18/12 19:59
Part of the Problem that I don't know if it is fixable is People Are Fucking Ass Holes and not in the good way.. In the Lazy fucks.. Let me explain.. If you know where the tops on Grant St. Is you know there is a Burger King it has garbage cans out side.. At that corner there is a bus stop.. One night I come out of Sportsman's and wait on a bus and there is garbage every where.. I get you don't want to miss the bus but "Hey hold the bus if it shows gotta go toss this out" .. Instead of being a lazy fucktard....

Sad
I'm still so sad that our cottage was washed away. It turns out that my Grammy is dying too. I feel really bad that a good friend of mine won't talk to me anymore. I'm also really sad that another good friend can't find work and is risking losing everything, and I also know someone close to me that was made to go from full to part time status. Another dear friend needs to leave her home of 46 years...

There is a lot of good stuff too, but right now I am sad for the things that make people sad.

Lib, things always get better! Maybe you are better off without someone who makes you feel like crap.
libertad - 01/26/12 20:54
Thanks everyone for very kind words and thoughts. I'll be alright but I just feel bad because of these reasons. I'm not sure that things with my friend will work out between us, and that doesn't feel good at all. It is awesome to have all you in my life though, i'm so fortunate.

lilho - 01/25/12 20:29
i'm sending out a hug, i'm sad too for some similar reasons... but it will get better. ;0)
flacidness - 01/25/12 16:58
I'm so sorry to hear that babe. That's a really bad turn of events. Keep your head up, it's always darkest before light.
libertad - 01/25/12 07:55
I feel better now. I even texted my friend and it seems like we might be able to work things out. Thanks peeps.
paul - 01/24/12 22:52
Sorry.
metalpeter - 01/24/12 20:21
Wish I was of some help..... The ugly answer is that sometimes it is good to be sad... If these things didn't make you sad then something would be wrong with you.... I'm not going to go as far as to say embrace the sad and watch those animal abuse ads or find sad songs to listen to.... But for some people that does get the sad out and 4 hours or 8 hours later they feel better.... Again I don't encourage that it works for some... But if it might make things worse don't try it....
tinypliny - 01/24/12 19:48
Feel better soon!! Sending good wishes your way!

"That woman can't seem to find good "wood" anywhere."

paul - 01/09/12 22:50
That is pretty witty.

Sorry Elin Nordegren
Looks like I jumped the gun with my last journal. Turns out she had termites and her mansion wasn't up to hurricane codes either. So she is going to build something similar which I still think is incredibly wasteful but not as bad as demolishing a building just because she could. At least she let habitat for humanity take what they want.

Last week, we brought you the story of Elin Nordegren's curious-at-the-time decision to knock down a $12 million mansion. It seemed, at first glance, a rather conspicuous display of wealth -- I've got so much money I can demolish a mansion and build a new one! A divorce from Tiger Woods, it seemed, was the gift that kept on giving.

Well, turns out that there was a pretty good reason for razing the estate: termites. A report in People magazine indicated that the 1920s-era mansion fell short of current hurricane safety codes, and combined with a termite infestation, that was enough to warrant blasting it down to the sand.

Also of note: Nordegren offered a local Habitat for Humanity chapter a month to take whatever it could from the mansion before demolition. (No, don't go all, "Oh, so generous, donating termite-infested wood!" on Elin. It was a nice gesture.)

Still, as you can see from the pre-demolition photo, that was a good-lookin' little shack there, regardless of what evil lurked behind its walls:

Apparently Elin thinks so too, because she's filed plans with the Palm Beach County Department of Planning, Zoning and Building that seem to indicate that the new mansion will look a whole lot like the old one. There'll be nine bedrooms, two kitchens, two Jacuzzis, a pool cabana and a three-bedroom guest house.

Tiger Woods, meanwhile, will somehow manage to suffer through his day-to-day life in his meager $50 million-plus bachelor pad.

paul - 01/09/12 22:50
and I just want to rebuilt a bathroom.
lilho - 01/09/12 19:45
I read the news last night and saw that... She actually did some good...oops!
metalpeter - 01/09/12 17:16
Interesting but does the Cabana come with a Cabana Boy?
