almost le weekend
does anyone else find school stressful? i think that's why it's taken me so long. i'm tired of getting up at 5am.... and i'm tired of writing, and then writing some more.

i want to paint my nails!!!!!!!!!!! this weekend i am going to:

clean

do laundry

hike

circuit train

sleep

paint nails

sleep

do homework.

tomorrow i have to get up at 5am, try to hike, intern, work one job, then another job. 8am-1030pm... longest day ever. boo.

apparently the people from the restaurant are supposed to call but i am so over it. who runs a business like that? apparently lots of people... i really just don't want to work anymore until i graduate. it's so confusing and busy... probably why i am so stressed and have zero social life.

to all young people. go to class and don't screw it up the first time around and then you won't have to be old and unaccomplished like me.
tinypliny - 11/18/11 12:37
Just so you know I feel pretty unaccomplished even though I have never skipped a single class ever. I have come to a conclusion, school is not for accomplishment, it's for developing thinking skills and the ability to stand your ground, and yet, be humble enough to accept that you are always error-prone and life is always uncertain, no matter how accomplished anyone might or might not feel. It is also for instilling perseverance in the face of temptation and the determination to see things through, regardless of how tough and unpleasant it might be. Lastly, it is for looking at yourself frankly and appreciating what you have and deciding to at least try to achieve what don't have (and I don't mean material things at all).

mounting frustration
if there is one thing that i absolutely cannot stand it is being ignored, or being avoided. the manager from the restaurant i started at called me off on sunday because it was going to be too busy?! ok, so then she said she would call me monday. no call. so i called her, it is now wednesday morning and still no call.

it is safe to say i am done with her and her shady ways. if you don't like me or want me to work for you, just tell me. i won't cry, unless you really yell at me and call me worthless0 then i might cry.

the icing on the cake is she is getting married this weekend and asked me to cater at her wedding, yeah right lady. i bet she will call friday or something... idk i don't care for her ways but the money would be good.

really, if you know me and you avoid me or have before, you know this is not a good idea. why can't people just face each other and say what they have to say in an honest way without being intentionally hurtful and then move on?

so, it was such a waste of my time to fit that endeavor into my schedule. seriously, i don't like my time being wasted. i'll figure something else out, i can be a nanny on the weekends i am sure. really working with children is like my calling because there is never a shortage of children and parents who seem to really love me. i'll take this as a sign!

i got on the scale and it says i weigh 3 lbs more. i think it's water weight but it's irritating me.

i need to hike and i want someone to just call or text me and say, "you can do it." just for that extra push.

it's the end of the semester and i am lacking enthusiasm for any type of school related activity. i can't wait to just have a break and do nothing but work, work out, paint my nails, do laundry, watch movies, sleep, and literally nothing else.

my life is simple one these days, save for my vegas and blo trip which i'm sure will be action packed. life is better when it's simple... 2012 is the year i rely on my strengths to get where i need to be.

i feel like doing nothing today... when i need to hike, intern, work, project meeting, hw, laundry, cleaning.... paint nails(not going to happen). blah.
lilho - 11/18/11 22:13
That made me laugh... I'm not that stylish but I wish I was. I'm mostly a poor student!
tinypliny - 11/18/11 22:10
Sounds very cutting edge!!! Would love some pictures. You are my only fashion icon. :)
lilho - 11/18/11 22:01
There are base colors and glazes, and supposedly you paint on the base and then the glaze and combined it creates a different colors depending on how many coats of each shade you use. Ill try it this weekend and post a pic.

Its most likely made of toxic stuff like most nail polish.
tinypliny - 11/18/11 21:47

this new special nail polish where you can make your own colors

I am curious. Do you know how this works? Are there any limits to what colors you can get? What is it made of?
metalpeter - 11/16/11 16:48
So You have been hired? Now granted I have never worked that type of job... But there is training and the new people from what I have heard start out when it is slow and get worked in.... It could be that you are what is known as fill in help.... Meaning when someone calls in or has to go home early or wants a day off then you get to work.... That being said I have some memory of putting in an application at like a Burger King and now that I think of it... They Needed help but yet couldn't hire me cause they didn't have the time to train me.... I choked that up to really meaning that they needed someone who all ready knew how to do the Job..... This could be the case in your case?
tinypliny - 11/16/11 09:38
Maybe not in an hour... around 3 hours (but I lose it in the next hour). You will too.
tinypliny - 11/16/11 09:37
Jokes apart, everyone has this phase of ennui and annoyance mixed together. I am really sure that you will get through this all. And 3 lbs is nothing. It's around 1/3rd of what a gallon of water weighs. I can easily push up my weight by 5 lbs if I am determined in an hour. :)
lilho - 11/16/11 09:33
and thanks.... i needed that!
lilho - 11/16/11 09:32
my sister bought me this new special nail polish where you can make your own colors.... i want to try it!
tinypliny - 11/16/11 09:31
You can do it. :-)

PS: LOL @ 2 mentions of painting nails.

awkward moments
I swear my life is filled with these. I attempt to avoid people and places in order to lower the risk of these situations but they still occur.

Went hiking again today, was definitely more challenging than yesterday but I made decent time and pushed myself to the top.

So I ran into a former coworker on the mountain. Not exactly a place you can avoid someone... We didn't really care for eachother either. Anyway, we played nice and exchanged pleasantries and went on our way.

I'm so excited. I lost 10 lbs in about 3 weeks just by eating healthy and working out. I even cheated a few times. I can't wait to see how fit I can get. I feel great and I'm really proud of myself. :o)

AfroJedi - 11/15/11 16:17
Gods, I hate those! Point in fact, I'm about 15 minutes away from my own...
libertad - 11/14/11 18:35
You are always working so hard! I just had my own very awkward moment, except no pleasantries were exchanged. We looked right at each other and didn't say a word. I sort of wish we could at least fake it but that is unlikely to occur. Somethings are just so complicated.

cray-mazing
Just did a 4 mile hike up and down scottsdale mountain... Cray-mazing is how beautiful it is, and how good I feel during and after.

Its seriously so beautiful. It reminds me I am blessed to live in such a beautiful place with mountains all around- even though I don't want to live here anymore. There are far worse places to be.

Hiking leaves me feeling so refreshed, its great time to think and gain perspective. Also, a great cardio workout.

In a word, wow
paul - 11/13/11 22:29
That looks so pretty.
tinypliny - 11/13/11 22:15
That looks awesome! Do you still have summer-like temperatures there?!

11/13/2011 12:44 #55497

tonawanda coke
apparently this corporation has been releasing toxic chemicals into the air for more than 30 years....

lots of people have unexplained illnesses, and it's right near where i grew up. buffalo is such a toxic dumping ground.

it makes me sick to think that people get away with these kinda of things, they know what they are doing and they continue to do so without any regard
metalpeter - 11/15/11 18:40
The Global Market is why we Bailed out the Auto Companies (Well greed of the workers and the "1%" owners who couldn't improve the product and lower costs and so they ran out of money) The Foreign Cars are better!

Call tech support and you get some Indian guy cause Verizion (other companies also) it is cheaper to have Tech Support over there...

Years ago I was talking about how Out Sourcing was horrid....(maybe I used the term should be illegal) And now there are no jobs... Well there are jobs just a lot of them have gone other places... Now granted it is great cause some of these jobs in other countries are above the level.... Believe it or not years back I was reading a report of someone who went undercover at I think a nike factory in mexico.... The Point is that even though the jobs we send to other countries are often by our standards are sub-standard are often above the standard of the the country they are in......

I'm not for cutting out the EPA or anything like that.... But the fact is that the global is a factor just like how different states have different laws so different companies have different head quarters .... It is a factor.... I wish it wasn't...

But maybe there is some hope... From what I have heard people like to come here to get our College and University Education maybe we can keep those people here some how instead of letting them go back to where they are from... Also some companies make a few car models here Toyota has trucks made here and I think Volkswagon has one line made here... So maybe if we can excel we can get more jobs over here....

Often times in the global market the people who work the cheapest win out... Some where along the way and not sure where this country has lost its way...yeah profit was important but it wasn't put before the people.....
YesThatCasey - 11/14/11 21:28
Sorry, but this whole mantra of global market forces can suck it. Our market, first and always, needs to be the people.

Just because capitalism is the economic system we utilize, we believe that is what lead to our success as a country. But this ignores that fact that a significant force behind our success was the quality of life we created for people living here. It allowed those living here to flourish, and it attracted industrious and capable people from other areas of the world.

When you start sacrificing your quality of life, you aren't benefiting your country; you are benefiting the company you are working for. We all know who controls the politicians right now, so it should be no surprise that they are fighting to eliminate the protections that made us, as a country, great.
metalpeter - 11/14/11 17:43
I don't agree with the shutting down of the EPA at all.... That being said we are at a point where as a country we have to look at the Global Market place and decide based on that what laws to pass... The people who want the EPA shut down and Pro Big Business and think there should be no regulations... Now I don't agree with that... But if it is cheaper to move a factory to say Mexico where you can let all the toxic crap into the air you want then a company will... Not all companies will... Yes profit is really the reason at that level companies are around but many companies put what is best for them and not the earth or this country first. So maybe make a law that if a company closes a plant here and moves some place else you tax the fuck out of them call it a Business export tax? The Point is in this area there is a lot of nasty stuff in the air and water... But new companies can pick what state to be in or what country so that is who we compete against ..... I'm guessing that the people who could stop Tonawanda coke might have fear that they will get up and move? But not sure about that....
YesThatCasey - 11/13/11 21:24
Just one of the many reasons I laugh/cringe when I hear so many people in our country calling for the EPA to be shut down.
lilho - 11/13/11 12:45
my links never work....
