Sock and flip flops
Category: fashion
When I was a kid we used to make fun of my dad for wearing socks with sandals. Then I started doing it and everyone made fun of me.

Really it keeps your sandals way cleaner and I don't care what people think of me.

I guess my brother felt the need to take it to one up us and debuted socks with flip flops last week. Can anything top that?

If you wear socks with sandals they at least have to be the right color you know like matching or the same at least or at least the same brand Like Nike or something oh god..... My feet are jacked so no sandals for me but what makes this even worse is those aren't sandals they are flip flops toe piece argh.......

Down in the tunnel
Category: subway
I never noticed a light on in the tunnel before. It looked so creepy but it gave it a lot of depth.

Zabihah Pakistani Restaurant in Kenmore
Category: food
Times are changing. What used to be a KFC in my home village is now a pakastani ramadan buffet .

(e:samathon1986) convinced us to go check out the delicious food. I tried to invite (e:tinypliny) but she was to busy and thought it would be too meaty so we brought one of our other vegetarian girlfriends, (e:holly), and she loved it.

(e:tinypliny) tried to scare me off with a text message:

gender-separated prayer areas! Is this for real?

I have to admit I was weirded out by that statement on their website but actually the place was awesome and had a lot of vegetarian options at the buffet. However there is no alcohol - which was fine for me.

The best part was the goat, the okra dish and the peach jelly. I love goat but barely anywhere serves it. I would totally go back.

In Terms of separate places to Pray that makes sense .....

.....Assuming it is run by Muslims or in the Muslim way....

I saw some documentary and they where in a masque and the men and women prey separately .... Now one can think what they want about that but one of the claims is that the women don't distract the men and vise versa ... It also seemed like the women enjoyed it....

The Point is that if people prey with only their own gender it makes sense that those same traditions, Practices and beliefs would take place at where one eats... I don't understand how Kosher works for Jews but I would assume in a Jewish Restaurant those practices would be followed as well....

Damn It (e:Tinypliny) you are American and as An American Food must be your new god.. You must learn to go to the Buffet and stack the plate so heavy that you almost can't carry it even though you can get as many plates as you want... Your glass of Soda must be no less the 12oz... 32 Plastic Cup is the perfect size and you will learn to love it..... When watching an eating contest you will mock the loser since you can eat more then that wimp....

Of course I'm joking but in this country there is a love of food that is god like..... Seriously though I will get into the prey thing as a 2nd comment but Buffets are perfect for trying new food types... I will use Indian food as an example but this is true of any ethnic or new food to people... There is this belief that Indian food is spicy or hot... That isn't the case at all yes it can be made that way if one wants it to be but people think it all is... Now at a buffet (a good one at least) you can go up and try this and that and find out what you like and what you don't like... What if you order some $12 meal and you don't like it (not that it wasn't made good that is a different story) now you are out the money and only had a few bites but if you had the buffet and you didn't like it try something else.....
tinypliny - 08/25/11 10:11
I guess my scare tactics are getting rusty. I need to hone them.

Actually buffets scare me. Something about the idea of unlimited tasty food is terrifying.

At Kenmore Mercy with Matthew
Category: hospital
No, I did not hit him. He actually ran into a tree branch. Literally.

This has to be the worst hospital I have ever been at.

I feelbsi guilty having matthew leave high street because I thought the wait would be too long and he should get some more immediate care as his eye was involved. I would rather die then be brought here. You think I would have learned the time they misstitched his finger and had to restitch it. I actually prefer high street because at least they have security. Kenmore Mercy doesn't seem to have any as was evidenced by the crazy behavior by the kid in the waiting room trying to scam pills. Never again.

Paul,

I work at Catholic Health and came across your blog entry.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed in the care that Matthew received at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. To file a complaint, could you please have Matthew contact our patient representative, Kathleen? She can be reached by email (http://www.chsbuffalo.org/AboutUs/Contact) or by phone (447-6360). Kathleen will look into the events that occurred and can address your concerns.
metalpeter - 08/24/11 16:26
Not that I know anything but maybe they wanted to do a CAT Scan so that if some thing like a headache happens they know that it isn't a brain issue and it is an eye issue... Glad you are ok that looks really bad ......
matthew - 08/24/11 14:32
Thanks guys, I'm okay. No damage to the eye. Just a superficial wound. I had 6 stitches put in. It looks way worse than it feels. My eye is completely swollen shut. I feel a little dizzy from looking out from just one eye, and I have a slight headache.
lilho - 08/24/11 12:09
domestic violence. how do you "run: into a tree branch??? sorry matt, that's a bad owie.
tinypliny - 08/24/11 07:30
Was there damage to the globe? Did any tear go through and through?
tinypliny - 08/24/11 07:18
!!! I am so sorry!
YesThatCasey - 08/24/11 07:11
Oi!
paul - 08/24/11 01:04
When we got here there were no people and we were up next.

Matthew is to timid that after waiting one hour at this shithole of a hospital, I went up to the nurses desk and explained his eye was bleeding. They haven't even given us ice to reduce the swelling. That seems like pretty common sense first aid.

I asked her if we should take him to another hospital. She said do what you think. I said no, what do you think. You are a nurse, can he at least get some ice. A few minutes later they called him in. I followed and they gave me that who are you to the patient bullshit. I should have just said I was his father. You would think being the person who is paying for it all and who is on the same insurance card is good enough but not for Kenmore Mercy.

If I am just sticking with High Street from now on. It was just so busy tonight. You would think we would have learned from his last experience here when they misstitched Matthews hand and had to resew it.
paul - 08/24/11 00:54
Two and a half fucking hours later the stupid idiots want to give him a catscan now that they know he has insurance and despite there being any real impact. He is refusing. I think a cleanup plus ice two hours ago would have been a better approach. I hope this place goess out of business.
