Shorts weather?
Category: weather
It might be springtime out but I wouldn't say it's shorts weather yet.

Yes that is a very common thing.... Ok it is also a style.... But it makes sense if you think about it. You are walking or jogging or walking fast in any event you are using your legs to carry you so they don't get cold but yet the upper body would be cold.... Or maybe it is just a Buffalo thing?
tinypliny - 04/16/11 18:54
Is that a sweater with the shorts?

Dal with carrot and asparagus
Category: food
(e:tinypliny) came over last night and made dal. It was really yumny. I feel bad because I made her make it not spicy hot but there is really the only way my body can tolerate it.

paul - 04/16/11 16:43
Hopefully, we don't have to ask her because I will be better by then.
heidi - 04/16/11 16:39
Jealous.

Yeah, yoga gives me heartburn sometimes, too. I try to be really careful about not eating more than some yogurt about 4 hours before class - any food just makes it all kinda digestively uncomfortable. However, having to pay that close attention to food and time makes it less likely that I'll actually accomplish the goal of attending class.
tinypliny - 04/16/11 16:16
Maybe we could ask Erin to focus on heartburn relievers next time...
tinypliny - 04/16/11 16:15
Seems like everything went wrong and came to a head this past Wednesday. I think it's great that you have so many variables that you can eliminate.

More interesting stuff: :::link:::

tinypliny - 04/16/11 16:02
Another variable...
paul - 04/16/11 15:53
I realized thqr doing headstands today. WHat if this is it. All of the headstands and flips in the last two weeks.
tinypliny - 04/16/11 15:09
Oh man, I just realized. You did all those headstands during class... That's worse than lying down!
paul - 04/16/11 14:57
I was okay. My tongue is going through its newly typical death to rebirth cycle but I had less heartburn. Could be the not eating before bed or laying down after eating. Or even the snacking throughout the day instead of waiting on large monolithic meals. I guess the not eating all day and then eating 20 minutes before yoga was probably bad that day too.
tinypliny - 04/16/11 14:08
It could be that this dal made it all super-worse? Is that the case?
tinypliny - 04/16/11 14:08
How are you doing today? The diet is kind of interactive so you will need to post updates to decide on the course for the rest of the week.
tinypliny - 04/16/11 14:07
Actually, I could have omitted the red chillies and made it more tolerable. Sorry for cheating. :^) Next time you are not getting ANYTHING remotely hot.

Historic district tax credits
Category: linwood
I wish I waited to get my roof repaired. There was a major tax credit for it this year.

tinypliny - 04/16/11 14:09
Maybe you could work on the basement and apply it all to the credit.

Orange tongue and body PH
Category: orange tongue
So I measured my morning PH as the test strip pocket suggests. Urine 5.75-6.0 , saliva 6.75. I guess I am acidic but according to the packet the healthiest urine is 6.0-6.9 and I was close. The second reading was almost exactly 6.0.

The more intereting/ gross part is that my orange tongue now also includes orange spit. I didn't reaalize till I spit it out to measure the Ph.

I get so frustrated when I read things like the following. I already eat a varied natural foods diet, I don't do drugs or drink, I exercise, I guess I have stress but who doesn't. I've barely ever taken antibiotics in my life, except for like during surgery and I sleep well. Not to mention my gastroenterologist can only schedule me in May 5th at 7:45am. What the frick? I need a new doctor. Its weird, I have money, I have insurance, I have a problem and there is no doctor - again.

I have experienced orange tongue since December 2007. I saw the gastroenterologist and told me it was a yeast infection in my mouth. I was give nDiflucan for about a week. It seemed to go away but it came back as soon as finished this medication. Same the antibiotics. Later I learned that its not a yeast infection. But it definitely has to do with the stomach. It definitley comes from a combination of extremeties like stress, eating poorly, not excersing, and not getting proper sleep and the misuse of antibiotics and over the counter medicines. I have ulcer, hiatal hernia, gastritis, and ulcerative proctoctis. I saw a macrobiologist doctor in February and he was able to tell me my deficiencies. According to him I was lacking oxygen, developing kidney stones, pancreatis (pancreatitis), etc. It all makes sense. Our bodies are not designed to intake chemicals. I completely changed my diet and starting taking probiotics and herbs to heal myself naturally. I have been improving slowly, I feel better and the orange coating is not as dark as before. Definitely take oil of oregano, garlic and mastic gum helps as well as eating organic whole foods. WE NEED TO DETOX OUR BODIES NATURALLY!

Seems there are lot of people with this issue:http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Ear--Nose--Throat/Orange-tongue/show/7117

At a minimum most of the people reporting this seem to agrees the bitter metal taste is terrible.

Maybe an allergy to metal to the metal in my new fake tooth - It seemed to start right after I got it?

hi everyone, i too have orange tongue. I actually got this years ago when i was a kid and had braces, no one could really figure it out, i was sent to specialist after specialist and they eventually decided it was an allergy to the metal in the braces, and took them out.

tinypliny - 04/15/11 17:05
I don't think you need that much accuracy.

"This is one of the tools all health minded individuals should own."

Sure and all environment minded individuals should own an elephant for riding down the street.

omg I want a digital PH reader :::link:::

Strangely, chewing on dandelion leaves seems to help.
