I have no Idea what they are and don't know what makes some of them an Irish Car Bomb ((e:ladycroft) could tell you)..... But what I do know is that if she drinks them they are way to strong for me to take.... As Long as you had fun at the time that is what matters.......
paul - 12/25/10 19:50
That was the worst hangover I ever had. I would not suggest drinking more than one carbomb ever.
metalpeter - 12/24/10 15:33
Take (e:paul) If his Facial Hair is right he could do the Handle Bar Mustache and you could go as the Person Filming him or maybe a kid actor HA! No Work Christmas Parties where I work or at least not in our Part of the company and I"m Happy About it I guess but something at Pearl St. Or Ulrich's sounds great......
tinypliny - 12/23/10 23:20
btw, do you ever go to the BIG employee party at Hyatt's? I am thinking of going this year... The problem now is how exactly to acquire a desirable date in such a short time and would I want to dress up as a 20s-30s moviestar....
tinypliny - 12/23/10 23:16
We had ours 2 weeks back at Pearl St. Brewery. I was dancing 3/4ths of the time. I guess most of the other people on the dance floor were completely smashed - in fact, I think that's why they were dancing. By default, people now think I was the most sloshed of all... I did drink about a gallon of tea though...

Nook for PC on Fedora 14 Linux
Category: computers
At our work holiday party we got $10 gift certificates for Barnes and Nobles. I have really been wanting the "grep pocket reference" and I felt bad downloading it illegally so I figured this was the opportunity to purchase it.

They had it in nook format but I don't have a nook. Luckily, they have a bunch of other nook clients I have an android nexus one and a desktop computer which can be used to read nook ebooks. iPad and iPhone can be used too. I was sad to see that barnes and nobles only had a client for Mac and PC. Turns out the PC one ran perfect on wine on Fedora 14. No fuss, no finagling, simply download the exe file, install and run. Now I have the Grep Pocket Reference on both my phone and laptop.

image

The only thing that I did not like was that there was a 60 minute delivery time. It seems like if you are buying an ebook it should come immediately.

image

In the apps for my phone and computer, it just gave a generic error during those 60 minutes.

Plain old Fedora 14 desktop edition. I don't even bother with the dvd anymote. Just install from the live CD and you can get whatever you need from the package manger.
uncutsaniflush - 12/23/10 22:06
I keep meaning to ask you what edition of Fedora you are using. I assume the developers edition?

Hos and ribbons
Category: people
I miss them all. I had so much fun playing with Zoey last week. If only (e:lilho) could have been there too. It was impossible to tire Zoey out. We must have run up and down the staircase 110 times. She was also fearless. (e:hodown) and I chased her around as she walked even into completely dark rooms upstairs at the 24. (E:mike) commented that he wouldn't even do that at age 27.

I see you had a chance to play zooey's favorite game, where you pretend to go to sleep and wake up. I'm glad you are friends, it means you're friends with all of my family! I wish I was there too... I will definitely be there as soon as possible... If my brother was more social you could see zooey all the time.
tinypliny - 12/23/10 23:21
She is cute! (I meant both of them. :))
hodown - 12/23/10 09:26
I miss you so much too! It was so fun playing with you and the little chubbers!

Red Lobster on Transit
Category: food
Before the movies we went to red lobster. The food was delicious but then I was sick all freaking night long and into today. I wonder if I got food poisoned?

tinypliny - 12/23/10 23:24
That's interesting... Did anyone else eat with you? You should post it on Yelp or other restaurant review pages or here, prominently so that people at the Red Lobster, Transit Road, Buffalo, NY see this complaint and put stricter hygiene checks in place.
hodown - 12/23/10 09:24
Wait I was really sick too. For sure it was the food. I was barfing yesterday. I thought I had the flu.
paul - 12/21/10 23:58
Ya ever since the first time when I got super food poisoned in Africa in 1999 I find that I am more easily food poisoned. Plus the whole chron's thing. Its probably all related.
tinypliny - 12/21/10 01:39
Its notoriously difficult to point fingers at the source of food poisoning unless those who ate with you also became sick. Did they?

Traditionally, epidemiology has been about finding the sources of infectious diseases. While it started out simply enough with John Snow pinpointing the water pumps in London as the source of a cholera epidemic in 1854, today we know that individual genetic, immune, metabolic and biochemical differences can actually determine who gets sick and who doesn't. Makes it all the more difficult to find the sources of contamination because there is no classic everyone-got-sick scenario sometimes.

Tron in 3d imax
Category: movies
I went to go see tron at imax last night with (e:hoedown). She almost got in a fight with some other girl over seats. I tried to take a pic of me with the glasses and this is what came out. Sitting in the front row sucks.

image
tinypliny - 12/23/10 23:24
btw, is that you or some character in the movie?
ladycroft - 12/23/10 04:08
Did you like it? I thought it was pretty sweet!
paul - 12/21/10 23:56
We were in row one. I couldn't even see the whole screen without looking around.
tinypliny - 12/21/10 18:47
eh? that makes it even more confusing. They won't let you into the imax unless you have a specific number in your group? Why? Is the whole IMAX a bunch of balcony-seats or some such concept??
metalpeter - 12/21/10 18:20
Well like with all movies (i assume) some people like to be close and some like to be far and some in the middle, I'm guessing this was more about numbers and how many a group needed....................
tinypliny - 12/20/10 22:20
hoe down lol

Really? I thought seats didn't matter in the IMAX because it is an immersive experience for everyone...
