Blue Fin On Elmwood on the Strip
Category: food
The food there is freaking amazing. I am not sure why its not more busy when I go in because it's some of the best Asian food around and the prices are great. This mango chicken that (e:enknot) got was so good. I also had delicious veggie lo mein with a side of mackerel sashini that was presented very nicely.

If you haven't been there you need to check it out.

tinypliny - 12/23/10 23:26

tinypliny - 12/17/10 22:58
Nexus S is a more picturesque take on Nexus one but apparently nothing big is new - except that I will owe my hand-me-down to its release. ;-)
paul - 12/17/10 14:02
That's so exciting. I love the nexus one. It is such a nice device. You need a data plan.
tinypliny - 12/16/10 22:51
He doesn't hate me apparently... which is good news. I suspect (e:paul) had something to do with it. :)

BTW, I REALLLY love that shot of the noodles. Every time I look at it, I want to walk towards that restaurant. Thankfully, I am lazy person and don't make it out of my front door.

AND I am getting the hand-me-down nexus soon - the only thing I can think of is... FOOD GRADE CAMERA!
metalpeter - 12/16/10 18:45
Why Does He Hate (e:tinypliny)?
Guessing it is still Open
Guessing that when you look at it, it looks small and it is hard to tell if it is open it never looks open so maybe that is why so few people?
tinypliny - 12/16/10 00:57
Its between Cleveland and Auburn and its closed now. :/
tinypliny - 12/15/10 20:02
Can you please ask him next time? Thanks.
tinypliny - 12/15/10 19:49
And do you know if (e:enknot) hates me now?!
tinypliny - 12/15/10 19:48
veggie lo mein? I totally need that. Where is this place? Cross street, please. I want to go there after work today.

Why I Hate Macs for Real
Category: computers
After a 12 hour workday I came home to Terry's broken inaccurate with flashing system folder. When booting off an external mac in target disk mode the drive still doesn't show up even in diskutil, fdisk or parted.

image

Then to get the drive out and replace it requires special suction cups and crap. Just check out this how to

Look you need a suction cup for one of the steps. Seriously.
image

He is going to try and take it to the apple store and see how much it costs to fix out of warranty.
tinypliny - 12/16/10 00:51
My brother has has innumerable macs (by now, I have lost count..) and in one of our crazy we-are-so-bored moments we calculated how many of his macs had a failed harddrive or optical drive. Guess what the % was. Take a wild guess...

..
..

86%. I am not even kidding. I can't believe people still keep on trusting macs. I don't want to be this nasty windoze freak but sometimes macsters are ridiculous in their fan worship..

PS: This does not mean I am calling you a fangirl (e:Oda). :-) Please do post a link to your website/CSA. I hope you have a distribution hub in the city so I can buy your produce!!! I am really excited for you. I actually remember my first year with my new computer back in the day. There was no one to take me through anything because my brother was away and my parents were just not interested. It was just awesome to be able to learn and do everything on my own. :)
paul - 12/15/10 23:29
Wow that is awesome oda. I never thought I would see a time when you were excited about a computer!

The situation with (e:Terry)'s imac got so ridiculous. He brought it to the apple store and the drive happend to load. They blamed the problem on a VPN client from when he was at UB. That was such bullshit. As soon as he brought it home and turned it on, the drive started clicking and stuff and finally died.
oda - 12/15/10 22:34
paul, i got a mac for a present this year.

you will be proud to know that i am actually learning how to use a computer. i have found the mac to incredible for someone like me, at a low computer-level knowledge, to be able to answer my own computer questions. this thing is so self-explanitory.

also, i am taking these one-to-one classes at the mac store in the galleria mall. soon, i will make the website for our farm/CSA.

it is exciting to start to explore this computer world.
uncutsaniflush - 12/15/10 18:14
I love how your spell-check or auto-complete turned "imac" into "inaccurate" The Apple Inaccurate it's not just a slogan, it's a way of life.
tinypliny - 12/15/10 17:44
Why do you hate Macs for fake then?
heidi - 12/15/10 14:03
Oh no!!!! Poor (e:terry) can't game :-(

Toys in a cage?
Category: work
Last year the the toys were just on the dock. But this year they're locked behind the cage. I wonder if that means people were stealing.

image
metalpeter - 12/16/10 18:37
Guessing they might have been vanishing or maybe someone would donate a cheap toy and take a good one? This Reminds me (maybe you do and just don't put it out there) You should have a Cage Party at your place some time. I admit I'm not really sure what one would be but it sounds fun.....................
tinypliny - 12/15/10 17:37
I am confused. Why do they have these toys in 901?

Google Voice
Category: google

Buffalo Medical Group is calling to confirm with Paul that you have an appointment with Dr. Herman my dog bro.

I'm guessing he doesn't really go by that.

tinypliny - 02/19/11 15:19
LOL, this is exactly what you do with that: :::link:::

tinypliny - 12/15/10 17:45
WELL??? How did it go??? Pokey minds want to know!
paul - 12/13/10 22:51
Google voice translates your voice mail messages to text messages for you. His last name was magabero or something like that.
tinypliny - 12/13/10 19:01
HAHA really?! How did that happen? Is it reading out your messages or transcribing them? What is the real text??

And good luck with your appointment! I hope its nothing lethal ;-)

Our wreath
Category: holidays
Our wreath never got assembled. Its in pieces on the porch.

Whenever we buy a tree they ask to trim it. That pile of trimmings becomes wreathes they then sell for like $20-$30 each. Seems like a rip off when they are already charging you like $60-$70 for the tree.

image
tinypliny - 12/13/10 18:57
I bet that'd make one really artistic wreath. Just gather every thing up. Smear a round cardboard piece with adhesive and glitter and drop all the branches on it. They will stick in a random unique pattern and et voila!
