Missing Illustrator
Category: art
Sometimes I miss illustrator so much. I decided to just play with inkscape more to try and get over but I just miss the gradient mesh tool so bad.

Category: clothing

now*

Not that it is cooler, I wear hats all of the time. Always looking for the perfect lightweight-ish hat. I need a warm hat like that. But does it feel like 10 lbs of hat? I could just strap my cat to my head for the same effect.
boxerboi - 11/07/10 18:47
haha love the hat! I agree with (e:metalpeter)
metalpeter - 11/07/10 08:56
It doesn't look that bad you just need to barrow (e:Tinypliny)'s ax and you will look fine or maybe a giant bottle of Vodka (has to be Russian though). The main thing is if it keeps you warm with out making you too warm....
tinypliny - 11/06/10 13:25
It's probably a fashion statement north and south of the 60 deg latitude.

Forcing a Ho To Be A Hippy

Food on Elmwood
Category: food
One meal at pano's (shrimp with gnocchi with (e:Mike) ) and one at bistro Europa (pork shank and clams with (e:terry) ).

I also got my mercury test back. No problems there so do I stop restricting my large fish consumption or assume the restriction kept it good? The whole thing makes me want a tuna steak.

I also found this report ::READ PDF:: about mercury levels in great lakes fishermen pretty encouraging.

metalpeter - 11/07/10 08:53
I didn't look at the chart but that is because it is Lake Ontario Fish, now Lake Erie fish that would be a different story........... Oh and not of the good kind
paul - 11/06/10 22:10
What really blew my mind was the PDF I just attached. You will like it (e:tinypliny), it is very sciencetastic. Look how much fish these people are eating, and from lake ontario and there levels really aren't that high either.
paul - 11/06/10 22:08
It was the blood test. That one is supposed to be very accurate for long term exposure type test vs the urine test which is so short, high level exposure you would get from like a workplace exposure/spill.
tinypliny - 11/06/10 13:31
I think your levels might have been low because of your inherent tendency to seek out organic and high-end stuff - maybe the majority of seafood that you eat is actually farmed for size and quality in controlled environments rather than caught randomly at sea.

Was this a blood/hair/urine test?
james - 11/06/10 02:56
Damn. If your mercury levels are fine then I am going to fish it up a bit more.

Metaphore
Here is a bench someone put outside in pretty much the only place it is exposed to open sky and gets rained on. Notice the dry spaces around it. Notice how wet it is.

come to where i work, basically everything is operated this way.
tinypliny - 11/06/10 13:40
Are you trying to say you are a being bearing :::link::: the great beyond :::link::: ?

:-)

You capture the ridiculous so well.

PS: I am livid that they cut down 4 full-grown trees in front of Carlton for no reason other than to build an ugly cement rink and footpaths that were completely unnecessary. They were causing NO structural damage and were so beautiful. They gave character to the dull building. It's not enough that the recycling program is so dodgy, that employees use paper as it were air and that we "are proud to partner with" coke. Now, we go and cut down trees that have slowly grown over 40-50 years. I felt depressed beyond words. We are a cancer fighting institution only in name. We spread our evil cancer throughout WNY. Because removing trees impacts the whole environment. Removing them for some hideously obscure and perverted aesthetic is criminal.

I would prefer to sit there in good weather so it is hard to decide where it should be. I love the first picture.
mike - 11/04/10 17:53
hilarious!
