Well after boycotting it since the mid 90s I decided to give it another chance. A lot of stuff seemed to change for the better. I really liked the new exhibit with mixed animals in a more natural habitat.
The tiger pretty much attacked our window.
I think you can find this same thing on craigslist.
lilho - 11/08/10 18:24 ok, all i remember is that nasty primate house that smelled like shit all the time, it was so gross. the zoo here is pretty cool, so you should visit and we can rent a double bike with an umbrella and a basket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
metalpeter - 11/08/10 18:01 I can't say the last time I've been to the zoo, like the Tiger shot...
mrmike - 11/07/10 20:36 I got past the tiger's window on my way into work each day. Still makes you jump when she does that

Missing Illustrator Category: art
Sometimes I miss illustrator so much. I decided to just play with inkscape more to try and get over but I just miss the gradient mesh tool so bad.
theecarey - 11/09/10 13:53 Not that it is cooler, I wear hats all of the time. Always looking for the perfect lightweight-ish hat. I need a warm hat like that. But does it feel like 10 lbs of hat? I could just strap my cat to my head for the same effect.
metalpeter - 11/07/10 08:56 It doesn't look that bad you just need to barrow (e:Tinypliny)'s ax and you will look fine or maybe a giant bottle of Vodka (has to be Russian though). The main thing is if it keeps you warm with out making you too warm....
tinypliny - 11/06/10 13:25 It's probably a fashion statement north and south of the 60 deg latitude.

Food on Elmwood Category: food
One meal at pano's (shrimp with gnocchi with (e:Mike) ) and one at bistro Europa (pork shank and clams with (e:terry) ).
I also got my mercury test back. No problems there so do I stop restricting my large fish consumption or assume the restriction kept it good? The whole thing makes me want a tuna steak.
I also found this report ::READ PDF:: about mercury levels in great lakes fishermen pretty encouraging.
metalpeter - 11/07/10 08:53 I didn't look at the chart but that is because it is Lake Ontario Fish, now Lake Erie fish that would be a different story........... Oh and not of the good kind
paul - 11/06/10 22:10 What really blew my mind was the PDF I just attached. You will like it (e:tinypliny), it is very sciencetastic. Look how much fish these people are eating, and from lake ontario and there levels really aren't that high either.
paul - 11/06/10 22:08 It was the blood test. That one is supposed to be very accurate for long term exposure type test vs the urine test which is so short, high level exposure you would get from like a workplace exposure/spill.
tinypliny - 11/06/10 13:31 I think your levels might have been low because of your inherent tendency to seek out organic and high-end stuff - maybe the majority of seafood that you eat is actually farmed for size and quality in controlled environments rather than caught randomly at sea.
Was this a blood/hair/urine test?
james - 11/06/10 02:56 Damn. If your mercury levels are fine then I am going to fish it up a bit more.
