Jenifer's Body
Category: movies
So I will be the first to admit I'm not a big Horror fan. But there are some movies I do like. Vampire movies are not horror movies but to me are like a different Genre. Yes some of them could be like 30 Days of Night. Or maybe they are a Genre like how you have Zombie movies and End of the world movies like 28 days and 28 weeks.

Yes I think Megan Fox is hot. Yes her body is amazing and she has some ink. But look at that great face and lovely eyes and nice Jet Black Hair and kinda tan skin. But she isn't the only reason I liked it.

With out giving anything away: I like the way the story was told. Yes there is a story it isn't all Just Gore. I like the action scenes. I like the acting. One thing that helped is there was some killer music in the movie that you could rock out to, it at least fit in the movie well. I also liked that the movie ended during the end credits I can't believe some people left. It wasn't like the credit rolled and then you got an ending later. Maybe they just didn't like the movie most of the people waited till the credit rolled in black to leave. Maybe Diablo Cody being part of the movie helped, I know she wrote it but don't know if she had anything to do with the making of the movie.

In terms of Preview stuff: Ninja Assassin Looks really good , they don't say it is but I think it is based on an Anime (I think I have it on Tape). They had a piece on where the wild things are. Even though it is so much of a chick movie I can't help it I want to see "whip It", part of the movie is about Roller Derby, and it has Ellen Page (juno) and Drew Berrymore Directs so it should be pretty good. Oh on a side note it is banked not flat track Roller Derby. I saw a poster for A Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D. That I have to go see.

jason - 09/21/09 20:56
I like Helen Mirren. She doesn't give a shit about eating a burger.
metalpeter - 09/21/09 19:41
I just wish I was the guy who got to but the Body Paint On Rebeca , she was so hot as she all ways is. But I could count her in the big group of actors who are in big time movies who always look and sound the same. Yes DeNiro was amazing in stardust. But to me that was all about the character he still kinda sounded like him.

Most people think Denzel is amazing. I have seen what I thought where great performances like in Malcolm X. But all his acting is kinda like that. Jim Carey is an over actor for sure, but his stuff is funny. Even when he does serious stuff ( I give him credit for trying it) He still comes off as Jim Carey.

In Terms of the actors you Mention I've heard the names but don't now much of their work. Jennifer Garner I haven't seen much of. Gillian Anderson I have all ways liked but have only seen her X-Files stuff.

The Point I was trying to make is that there are some great actors out there who can make you believe (most of them come from the theatre back ground) they are someone they aren't . They know how to sound like a brit and walk like a brit and be a brit. But then if they do some war movie they can make you think they are french or a Nazi. But the thing is that in "Hollywood" once you make it big and are a star, you just act as your self. Since that is what everyone does than Megan Fox is at the same level as everyone else. She nor Wesly snipes nor most leading actors are going to be asked To dance to some old Jazz music and talk Cajun and be convicing.

tinypliny - 09/21/09 18:56
So, (e:metalpeter), nice countering but who says Denzel Washington is a good actor? (Well, I am aware many do, but that legion does not include me.) I don't like the others you listed as well (and Jim Carrey and a dozen others who are pretty much the same all the time)

What do you think of these actors:
-- Billy Crudup
-- Gillian Anderson
-- Joseph Gordon-Levitt
-- Jennifer Garner
-- Rufus Sewell
-- Ryan Gosling
-- Helen Mirren
-- John Simm
-- Gael García Bernal

DeNiro had an interesting part in Stardust - that was very much "unlike" him.

The example you give for Megan Fox needs to be more convincing because it sounds the same as saying that Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) in X-Men was a great actress because she was unrecognizable in that blue bodysuit.

metalpeter - 09/21/09 18:14
First of all she Isn't a porn star. In the 3 movies I've seen her in there was no real nudity. Yes she unzipped her top but they didn't show her boobs they then go down to her legs, and well of course nothing in transformers There is one scene where you see her ass swimming but that is about it.

In Terms of acting she acts just as well as any Hollywood actor. Most actors all they do is replay them selves in every movie, or at least once they are stars. As great as everyone thinks Denzel Washington is, he does that dramatic style in every movie, you want a movie where the guy sounds like that you get him. If you want someone who is weird and Crazy you Get Jeff Goldblum, If you want just nuts then Jack Niclohson is your man. Sam Jackson is one of my favorite actors and he is the same way, when he started out he wasn't. Everyone Says DeNiro is great but he talks and walks the same in every movie. So most of the time acting is just if you like how a person talks and acts. Most people in movies talk in interviews the same way they do in movies and have all the same expressions, there are exceptions but for the most part it is true.

That being TV and Movies are Different so this doesn't apply as much to TV. Perfect example is Kiefer Sutherland. I have seen him cry and then be on the other extreme end and it works. Facial acting is much more important on TV. In Terms of in Wrestling it is a big part of the act.

Now On to Megan Fox Herself. She did show some emotions and in this movie they where believable now when she was in "monster form" I'll call it, you could tell. She looked like a different person but that could have been set up by how they filmed it or it could have been her it is hard to tell.
tinypliny - 09/19/09 20:31
Megan Fox is pr0n$tar.

Give me at least one example of a scene or even a BIT of a scene where she is actually showing off any kind of acting skill and not her body. I am not going to believe she actually is an actress unless I see proof.

MIA Part 2 2009
Category: photos
So As I'm sure A bunch of you know Music Is Art was on Saturday. It is tough to describe. Yes there are bands and art and a DJ area, and a kids area that turns into a Projection area. It was a lot of fun. But there are surprises some of I didn't see. For example I saw some Roller Girls painted up. So I could tell they had to a bunch more all some place together. Then bands came out of no where . Well here are some more pictures that might show what it was like.

Well that is all time will let me put up. I really need to like get a laptop, but I doubt it would have enough memory and then all those moblile plans are like around $40 a month. Maybe I should just get my own computer, but then I need a desk, How is time warner for internet?
metalpeter - 09/18/09 19:31
Now That (e:mrmike) mentions it it seems like a few of the guys where a bit big for this. But I guess the point is that (didn't see them do the stuff in the kids area) how did they perform the duels? I'm guessing that is how they got picked.

In terms of the internet thing, I have no idea what I'm going to do or when. But I do need to in some form figure out what I want to do Computer wise. I even like those options of one of those tiny computers that are made to like just go on line. The problem is on the adds they even say you have to get a two year plan for the internet service. As nice as it would be to travel with it, I don't see how it would be useable to save pictures on and then upload them on line?
heidi - 09/18/09 12:05
I really wanted to go to MIA, too. It had been on my calendar for months but when the day finally arrived, I was driving from Bloss to Buffalo and then realized that if I did that, I wouldn't be able to accomplish any of the long list of tasks I had for Sunday. School sucks! (Not really, it's much better this semester than last year, but I resent the amount of time and energy it requires.)
mrmike - 09/18/09 09:11
Wow, Darth Vader really let himself go. MIA is a great happening. If I didn't have an event at work, I so would have been there.

There are a few classes of internet expense with Time Warner. I don't remember them all (thankfully)but you can choose based on speed. I think the regular prices start around 19.00 a month, but there are lots of promotions floating around.

MIA Part 1 Estrip
Category: estrip
So Music Is Art on Saturday was a lot of fun and ran into some (e:peeps) so that added fun to the mix as well. I didn't get any art though. One person had some cool stuff but he was busy talking to someone about something and there was some other art I really liked. The Problem was no way to see a price. Hey maybe it was just on display. But I think if you are going to sell it you should have a price some where.

So Part 1 of MIA is going to be pictures that relate to (e:strip)

The Champagne Brunch
Category: estrip
First of all I wanted to Thank (e:Drew) and (e:Janelle) for the invite to the Champagne Brunch. It was a really nice time. Sometimes it is weird to take pictures when there are people you don't know there.
Plus there was a lot of really good food.

On the way there I saw this place is going to open up. I wonder if it will stay open any longer then the other Asian Restaurants that opened there. Not sure if that is a bad spot for them or if they have been badly manged not really sure.

I have no pictures of anyone Drinking right out of the Bottle. I know some people look down on but I think it is ok. Slash Pulls it off Very Well and even though I have Never seen Absolutely Fabulous, (e:ladycroft) and (e:Theecarey) pulled it off pretty well before. I have done it my self before but not Like Slash Or Janis Joplin, it can be done with class and style. Hey and if there isn't much left someone needs to finish it off.

So here are the pictures , I can admit I had trouble with the light so some maybe blurry or fuzzy or have nasty shadows.

metalpeter - 09/10/09 18:36
(e:Jason) that line #4 was funny, those ads are great by the way

In terms of (e:Jason) Macking it up I didn't hear what was said so I can't say. But I thought I heard something about Her knowing how to make great drinks and a bar or something.... Not sure what will happen or what direction that might go but hopefully at some time in the future a good meet up at some point (unless it all ready happened).

(e:James) Shirt was pretty cool but I didn't get what the moose was about.

(e:Janelle) it is a good thing I'm so slow with taking pictures, HA

(e:Tinypliny) I didn't know if she was coming or not would have been cool if you would have.

It was really a good time and there was so much Food that was all really good. The Blueberry stuff was pretty good and both kinds of Bacon where good as Well. I wish I could have eaten more Bacon but I was pretty full so I went back inside.

Again Thanks to (e:Drew) and (e:Janelle) it was a great time and I'm sure set up and clean up was a lot of work.
james - 09/10/09 15:09
It sure is.

I also missed that blueberry dessert. It looked amazing.

And yes, Drew and Janelle are awesome.
jason - 09/10/09 14:57
1) I never noticed (e:James) shirt, but that is freaking hilarious. Is that a reference to Bull Moose party?

2) I also never noticed the freaking blueberry dessert!!

3) I definitely needed to shave that morning.

4) I am not a mack daddy. But I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

5) Drew and Janelle are my favorite
mrmike - 09/10/09 13:01
Aw man, looks like a much better time than what I HAD to do on Monday.
joshua - 09/10/09 11:26
Wow, do I really talk with my hands so much? LOL! I am my father! Nice pics (e:peter) - I knew they'd come out. The blueberry dessert was delicious - well, really everything was delicious. I don't think I've ate so much bacon in one day before (we had more bacon later... yes that is the sound of my heart stopping that you are hearing).

(e:drew) and (e:janelle) - thank you for being such gracious hosts! We lub you, you're the best.
drew - 09/10/09 10:28
and you missed (e:jason) laying down the mack.
janelle - 09/09/09 22:36
(e:metalpeter), thanks for the pictures! More importantly, thanks for the picture that didn't make the cut. Lol.

(e:tinypliny), you were greatly missed, but there will be a Labor Day next year ... I hope. I didn't get a chance to eat much, but everyone raved about the blueberry coffeecake that my next door neighbors made. I'm sorry we both missed out on it!
tinypliny - 09/09/09 21:03
Damn! I missed it because I forgot and spent the day moping over how completely silly my little silent tiff was. I can't believe I missed so many blueberry goodies I can see on there! What were they??!
