paul - 08/12/09 11:56
It's zillow :::link:::
and there are house for that much all over. There are even houses over 1 million. Seems like the buffalo market didn't crash, or at least not as bad as the rest of the country.
libertad - 08/08/09 20:50
I think a lot of the houses on Linwood are around that range now. There is some website you can go to that tells you how much houses are valued at but I forgot what it is.
carolinian - 08/08/09 20:47
$500,000 for a house in Buffalo? WTF? I thought the only place in Buffalo where houses sold for $500,000 was the Nottingham terrace area.
theecarey - 08/08/09 01:14
I love their backyard/pool set up. The interior was fun to go through, but I don't remember much about it.
metalpeter - 08/07/09 19:57
Guessing it is about $500,000 out of my price range, ha.
oda - 08/07/09 19:18
I'm looking to buy a house, but more in the $70,000 range. The "dream house" we found in Strykersville (east of East Aurora) was taken away from us yesterday while we were trying to make our bid on it, by some buyers who agreed to pay cash for the house. Paying for a house in cash means that the sellers don't need to do anything, so our real estate agent told us we really couldn't do anything to beat their offer.

I hope you get nice neighbors!
paul - 08/07/09 18:45
They are building a house somewhere else.
leetee - 08/07/09 18:44
omg, that house is beautiful... as is their backyard. why are they moving?

Korea house

Last night we went to dinner with (e:James) for his birthday. Matthew
and I ordered these potato based sugar drinks featured on the placemat.

They turned out to be personal sized bottles of vodka style alcohol
with a sweet aftertaste.

metalpeter - 08/07/09 19:58
looks like a good time
paul - 08/07/09 19:24
Ya, it is totally just hard liquor. The little cutsey girls in the pic made me think it was more like a wine cooler.
leetee - 08/07/09 18:49
(e:Uncutsaniflush) and i were there on wednesday and very curious about that drink...

Haircut Time

I am getting the feeling that's it's time for a haircut before camp.

paul - 08/20/11 15:10
Wow, I really want those type of glasses again. I hate my big stupid plastic ones.
lauren - 08/05/09 08:53
Perhaps this is a good place to ask...Felly has been needing a haircut but is scared of going somewhere and having them make her "girly" looking... anyone know any good queer friendly type haircutting places that won't put curls and bows in my lady's hair?
metalpeter - 08/04/09 19:25
Hey Maybe you could get some like Gel stuff and make the top all spiky in some form then do the same thing with the Beard.
lilho - 08/04/09 18:34
it's time... i would cut for you if i was there... i'll prob have my scissors when i come, but don;t wait that long. plz.
heidi - 08/04/09 17:14
Nah, you have to be a dirty scruffy hippie at camp!
iriesara - 08/04/09 17:09
honestly I think it's the best hair/beard combo I've seen on you in years. especially after the freddy mercury mustache fiasco...and oh, one can't forget the infamous purple pie man mustache!
hodown - 08/04/09 16:09
Ok Paul for real get that under control.
tinypliny - 08/04/09 12:57

Shattered Glass

Sunday morning this kid was pacing back and forth near Linwood and
north freaking out in the phone. We couldn't figure out what happened
right away but slowly we overheard some details. He left stuff in his
car and someone stole the stuff. I though I heard him say a laptop,
which sucks, but seriously, who leaves electronics in their car, in a
city.

The thrift smashed the driver's window completely out to get to the
stuff.

metalpeter - 08/04/09 19:31
Well often times you might be going some where and you don't want to take the laptop in. I get that the trunk is hot. But I'm guessing he left it some place very visible and that is what caused the broken window. He should have at least hid it. But that brings up an interesting Question. Is a neighborhood only as good as the people who go Trough It? I think you area is a great place to live I'm guessing that person thought the same thing. But if a Thief walks through it how does that effect the Area? Just something to think about.
james - 08/04/09 09:31
Now there is a lesson learned the very hard way.

Is showplace still open?

I wonder if showplace theatre on grant is still open. There was a for
lease sign on it when I drove by it on Sunday. I can't possibly count
the number of times I went to that place for music in my younger years
although I think the best time was 4/20/2002.

lilho - 08/12/09 01:23
2002! sooooooooooooooooo much fun!
metalpeter - 08/04/09 19:40
At one time I heard a Rumor that the guy who Owns Sportmens was thinking about buying it. The Showplace was awesome. The Last Band I saw there Was Hatebreed. The thing is that they only ran ads for there shows in like artvoice and it was like maybe twice a month so you had to look for who was going there. I have seen some amazing shows there. Yes it was easy to get to and home from and that was a factor also. But it was a great place to see a show from, I have to say my favorite place really. First you have the floor for the pitters and standers. then you have a few seats and then behind that the sitting standing area. Sometimes there where Tables and sometimes not. Then of course there are the two bars sometimes only one was open. The only bad part was the getting Merch and those crazy bathrooms glad I never went and there was a crowd. I would love to see it re open. With The Icon closed or did that reopen again it would be a great venue. Another interesting thing is that some times you would see the bands eating near bye say Burger King or the Pizza place plus there used to be a mighty taco (never trusted eating that before a concert though). I admit I miss the show place. And yes I went there as a kid to see movies don't remember what one, but I think at some point the older brother of someone I went to school owned it, but not sure.
hodown - 08/04/09 16:10
Was I there?
leetee - 08/04/09 01:06
No, it's not open anymore. The guy who owned it died and his daughter inherited it and is too busy with the other business she was left with to bother with this one. His other daughter owns Salon 806 on Elmwood.
