thirsty buffaloWent to a new (to me) restaurant today with (e:Mike) (e:Jill) and (e:Anne). It's called the Thirsty Buffalo where Jimmy Mac's used to be (Elmwood and W Utica?) It was very empty inside, we were one of three customers the whole time. Of course it was a little past the lunch hour. Anyway, the food was good but the service was quite slow. I think it took at least 15 minutes for the waiter to come back and get our credit cards and stuff. Not that I minded sitting and talking. :) Being down there made me miss living in Buffalo again! I passed (e:Matthew) just walking down the street. Those kinds of things don't happen out in the suburbs!
P.S. I loooooooove vacation.
P.P.S. This is a picture of my current project...I'm about halfway done... :)
It's Legos!!! 3,428 Legos to be exact!

b-loI really miss living downtown. Life in the burbs just isn't cutting it. I feel so disconnected from everything. I went for a walk today before rehearsal down Linwood and I just felt so good. I love being down there. Even Kenmore was close enough. I have to get back downtown soon :(

I like to think I do live downtown. A 15 minute walk gets me to the centre. I don't think that is really any different from living in those overpriced snobby little lofts downtown.

I don't think I could live in the burbs. But if it was that Vs. A Bad part of town (bad part of west side) I would pick the burbs. I wish a had the money to live downtown there is so much stuff I do down there (bison, sabres, bandits, Club Diablo, Shea's, Town Ballroom) Oh yeah and one less bus to catch also.

bad teachersThere are a lot of bad teachers in the world. Like, way more than there should be. We've all had bad teachers, in some way or another. It seems like everyone is just getting lazier and lazier. It takes a lot of effort to be a really good teacher, and a lot of people just don't seem to want to make that effort. I think I'm halfway decent and I don't do half of what I could do to be better. Maybe I see more of it because I teach high school and I feel like some high school teachers feel that they can relax or "be cool" because the kids are older or something. I'm just sick of seeing teachers who don't make any effort to enforce rules, maintain consistency, challenge students, introduce students to new things, etc etc. It is so easy to be a bad teacher. It really is. I could come in, play the piano, sing songs from beginning to end (and not actually work on technique or harmony), and go home as soon as the bell rings. But how could someone live with themselves if they did their job like that?
no i will not!
