Niagara drinking water?

Today in desperation for some new adventure we headed to south
buffalo. We were going to go hiking but after stopping at the marina
but decided it was too muddy. So instead we headed into south buffalo
and touted around the places in south buffalo that we haven't been.

We randomly ended up at the mckinley mall which brings me to the title
of this journal. There was a dollar store with niagara drinking
water. Where does niagara drinking water translate into something you
ingest. To me it sounds like a better name for a cleaning solution.

I guess the fact that it was at the dollar store means it wasn't a
sucess.

Yeah but that is a lot of water for a dollar unless it wasn't a real dollar store.
iriesara - 02/09/09 11:27
my boss totally drinks Niagara water. The first time I saw it I laughed my ass off and asked him if he'd ever seen water from the Niagara. He said no. I think Terry is right, I think the word Niagara connotates glorious things in peoples minds, not the reality. Everytime I see that brand I think of the nasty foamy spooge at the bottom of the falls, yuck!
terry - 02/08/09 18:53
Wow, apparently, they never visited. Maybe "Niagara" has a pristine image in California.
uncutsaniflush - 02/08/09 18:30
(e:paul), apparently Niagara Drinking Water has nothing to do with Niagara Falls or Western New York. If you believe their website :::link::: they have been in business in Southern California since 1963 and they have a national presence now with seven plants from coast to coast.

I want to go Ice fishing

I know it seems like a strange topic the day after people died ice
fishing on lake erie but we were at the marina watching ice fishers.
If anyone here ice fishes, please take me with you.

johnallen - 02/09/09 01:51
I go every now and then.....The small boat harbor where you took the picture measures the ice very very often and won't allow you on without them giving it the ok.

I love fishing, can't wait for the summer so I can take the boat out again.

Blood pressure

I swear, everytine I check my blood pressure, they drop the value for
ore-hypertension to something lower. Is 126 really pre-hyper tension?
image
jenks - 02/07/09 23:50
yeah, I wouldn't worry about it.
(then again, I don't worry much about BP til it hits 200.)

;)

[seriously though, 126/78 is totally fine.]
tinypliny - 02/06/09 21:31
I would probably worry a bit if I went over 130-140 systolic and over 90 diastolic.
tinypliny - 02/06/09 21:29
Of course not. That's near perfect.

Facial Hair Gone Wild
Category: mustache
I want to cut my hair, and my facial hair but I walk everywhere and it is freezing out. I wish it would just warm up so I can shave my head again. I keep telling myself I am going to trim my mustache. Maybe today.

image

So I trimmed the goatee, not so great ;( I having feeling this is going to end with a shaved head - damn it
image

Then it was this.
image

And then in the mdidle of trimming the battery trimmer dies. I am destined to look like a freak I guess.
image

This is where I am stopping for today.

you don't look old, you look old-timey. Like you should be in a silent movie. maybe as a strongman with those dumbbells with the big round black balls on them.
metalpeter - 02/06/09 19:06
In the picture with you head up and glasses you look like one of the Peep boys form the peep boys ads. You also look like a barber or you just need to gel up the hair a bit to finish off the look.
hodown - 02/06/09 13:21
No axe to grind. I just tell it like it is. Paul is just unhappy about his old age and facial hair issues.
paul - 02/06/09 12:43
Thanks tiny, she is just bitter in her old age.
lauren - 02/06/09 12:25
its amazing to me what facial hair can do! Sometimes I wish i had some so i could easily change my appearance...but im lazy and hate shaving :)
tinypliny - 02/06/09 12:08
You look SO HANDSOME!

(e:hodown), pardon me but do you have an axe to grind or what? ;-)
paul - 02/06/09 11:41
You're just saying that because you are an aunt (old).
hodown - 02/06/09 11:39
You look old.

Six to Ten Inches a Day
Category: buffalo
There was a times articles about how snow in the UK paralyzed London. In the comments section, someone from buffalo wrote:

"Hey ! Sorry that you guys in London, UK, got hit with snow. Noticed you can't handle it very well!" wrote Charles Gangarossa, from New York state, USA. "What would you do if you lived in Buffalo, NY, USA? We get 6 to 10 inches daily lately! Come visit Buffalo in the winter and you will appreciate the little bit of snow you got! Happy shovelling!"

Don't you think that is exaggerating a bit. Imagine a month of 6 to 10 inches a day.
metalpeter - 02/08/09 13:33
Well that would be a good Business Idea for Buffalo, HA. They had a week and Knew it was coming but decided not to do anything. The article I read said that they do have some snow equipment. Hey the least they could have done is try to use it, or get other things ready that aren't made for snow but could be used like what ever those big dirt mover things are at construction sites.
tinypliny - 02/08/09 13:03
LOL LOL@(e:heidi)'s comment.
heidi - 02/06/09 19:26
(e:metalpeter) - what were they supposed to do? Rent some snowplows from Buffalo?

metalpeter - 02/04/09 18:27
From my understanding they do have some plows. They also knew the storm was coming with about a weeks notice but didn't do anything about it. (e:drew)'s comment is awesome.
tinypliny - 02/03/09 17:16
We do get 6-10 inches daily. I do wade to and fro from work everyday.
theli - 02/03/09 15:55
What? You actually don't like extolling some superficial superiority just so you can act condescending? Weird.

@drew: Har!
drew - 02/03/09 10:30
six to ten inches. Isn't that the standard exaggeration?
james - 02/03/09 10:23
Could you imagine how pissed off we would be if someone from London made an estrip account to tell us about all the things London is doing better than buffalo? We do ONE THING right and suddenly we are hot shit.
ladycroft - 02/03/09 10:11
I had to laugh when Rory sent me the link to this headline. But yah, that nitwit just doesn't get that they also don't have snowplows because it rarely snows in that magnitude.
