(e:paul) - approximately a year. I've switched my voter registration, truck registration and drivers license and will file taxes in NYS to demonstrate my in-state-ness for next year.

(e:jbeatty) - medical, dental and pharmacy all got it worse than law... but damn! Why aren't those MBA bastards getting screwed as bad?* And why is their tuition so low anyway???

(I think it's just a straight percentage increase so the latter question is more important.)

Yeah, that really sucks. The out of state students got shafted hard. The medical school price went up by $3500. I was pissed when I found out how much my tuition went up till I saw how bad it could have been.

ani concert tomorrow?

somehow i've managed not to find anyone to go with me to the ani difranco concert at babeville tomorrow night... anyone interested?

doors open at 7pm and i think it's general admission so we might need to be there earlier than that (anyone know?)

Your New Burchfield Penney!

In honor of avoiding my paper that's due tomorrow, and to get closer to my 50-post milestone, I'm posting pix from the Burchfield Penney opening. (Caution: noisy opening on website.)

Large gallery space. There are lots of neat spaces.

The sculpture to the right of the guitarist from A Hotel Nourishing is called "Planetary Array" by Marvin Bjurlin.

There were performances in three spaces - the auditorium, the project space and the reception area. This is the project space.

burchfield-penny opening

I'm at the birchfield-penney opening watching A Hotel Nourishing (look 'em up on myspace). not bad at all... the drummer mentioned this gig to me when he was working the wegmans checkout line. I have video but can't figure out proper mobile posting so you'll have to wait till I get home and post pix and vid.

I used the web/xhtml (e:strip) interface on my palm centro. I tried to use the pmobl messaging (txting) option a couple days ago but none of the messages I sent posted, with or without pix. (followed these instructions :::link:::)

I like the new Avatar I think it is called. Hope the opening was good. I did think about going I think there is some art there I might like, but don't be surprised if in two years time I have a comment on someone ones post about how I think it looks really cool from the outside but have never been inside.

I just found out that a grant I've been working on for over TWO YEARS finally came through! Pa. Department of Conservation & Natural Resources has awarded $40,000 to Blossburg Borough for a skateboard park at Island Park. Yippeee!!!! (My grant total is now well over $135,000.)
