Girl on Girl vs. Boy seatle
Category: issues

So I don't feel like being sued by CNN so here is the link to there story about the lesbians kissing in Seattle At a base ball game. I found it because I did a search for the story I read in the Buffalo News. My take on the story is People where making out at the Mariners baseball game. Nothing was said to the man and women making out. But the two ladies where kicked out. There is a claim that the ladies where groping, hey why no video, HA. I guess there was a family with kids who complained because they had to explain to kids why two girls where kissing. I guess at some point you have to explain that to kids but all you would have to say is you know how boys kiss girls well sometimes girls kiss girls. That would be it assuming the kids allready know that. If there are no PDA at the game then they should have that throughout the entire place regardless of gender or sex. The girls think they where kicked out because they where gay and the stadium says that isn't true. I think the real problem here is that often things are done because of a complaint. The same thing could happen with swearing, it is a baseball game you are supposed to yell at the ump for a shitty call, but if you have Mr. Sensitive you could get in trouble. It would be nice to know what is really happening. That being said at a lot of sports events they do have Kiss Cams and sometimes they are sponsored by a company, the ones I have seen have all ways been man on woman or Rax (bandits games) with to ladies. I have seen as a joke two people of the opposing team so there is kinda that atmosphere as a factor.

Fuck it here it is

SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- Most of the time, a kiss is just a kiss in the stands at Seattle Mariners games. The crowd hardly even pays attention when fans smooch.
art.kiss.ap.jpg

Sirbrina Guerrero complained after an usher told her to stop kissing her date at a Seattle Mariners game in May.

But last week, a lesbian complained that an usher at Safeco Field asked her to stop kissing her date because it was making another fan uncomfortable.

The incident has exploded on local TV, on talk radio and in the blogosphere and has touched off a debate over public displays of affection in generally gay-friendly Seattle.

"Certain individuals have not yet caught up. Those people see a gay or lesbian couple and they stare or say something," said Josh Friedes of Equal Rights Washington. "This is one of the challenges of being gay. Everyday things can become sources of trauma."

As the Mariners played the Boston Red Sox on May 26, Sirbrina Guerrero and her date were approached in the third inning by an usher who told them their kissing was inappropriate, Guerrero said.

The usher, Guerrero said, told them he had received a complaint from a woman nearby who said that there were kids in the crowd of nearly 36,000 and that parents would have to explain why two women were kissing.

"I was really just shocked," Guerrero said. "Seattle is so gay-friendly. There was a couple like seven rows ahead making out. We were just showing affection."

On Monday, Mariners spokeswoman Rebecca Hale said that the club is investigating but that the usher was responding to a complaint of two women "making out" and "groping" in the stands.

"We have a strict non-discrimination policy at the Seattle Mariners and at Safeco Field, and when we do enforce the code of conduct it is based on behavior, not on the identity of those involved," Hale said.

The code of conduct -- announced before each game -- specifically mentions public displays of affection that are "not appropriate in a public, family setting." Hale said those standards are based on what a "reasonable person" would find inappropriate.

Guerrero denied she and her date were groping each other, saying that along with eating garlic fries, they were giving each other brief kisses.

On Tuesday, Guerrero said a Mariners director of guest services had apologized to her. The team spokeswoman could not immediately confirm that.

After the story broke, the Mariners were blasted by the sex-advice columnist Dan Savage, who wrote about the incident on the blog of the Stranger, an alternative weekly paper.

"I constantly see people making out," Savage said. "My son has noticed and asked, 'Do they show the ballgame on women's foreheads?'"

Savage called for a "kiss-in" to protest against the Mariners.

Web sites have been swamped with blog postings for and against Guerrero and her date. And the story has people talking in Seattle.

"I would be uncomfortable" seeing public displays of affection between lesbians or gay men, said Jim Ridneour, a 54-year-old taxi driver. "I don't think it's right seeing women kissing in public. If I had my family there, I'd have to explain what's going on."

"It all depends on the degree," Mark Ackerman said as he waited for a hot dog outside Safeco Field before Wednesday's game. "Even for heterosexual couples."

Since the incident, Guerrero's job and her past have come under scrutiny. She works at a bar known for scantily clad women and was a contestant on the MTV reality show "A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila," in which women and men compete for the affection of a bisexual Internet celebrity.

"People are saying it's 15 more minutes for my career," Guerrero said of the ballpark furor, "but this is not making me look very good."

In 2007, an Oregon transit agency chief apologized after a lesbian teenager was kicked off a bus when a passenger complained about her kissing another girl.

Also in 2007, a gay rights group protested a Kansas City, Missouri, restaurant they said ejected four women because two of them kissed, and a Texas state trooper was placed on probation in 2004 for telling two gay men who were kissing at the state Capitol that homosexual conduct was illegal in Texas.

"There's a double standard. That's the bottom line," said Pat Griffin, director of the It Takes a Team! Education Campaign, an initiative from the Women's Sports Foundation to eliminate homophobia in sports

The story in the Buffalo news.

One thing I forgot about is one of the girls was On season 2 of a shot at love with Tila Tequila, she has been elimantated maybe a week or two ago of viewing.

on A side note I look forward to seeing everyone at the Party on Sat at the 24.

Gay Is Ok2 Cali Style
Category: issues

First of all (e:libertad) On my other post with this name You made a very good point about self hate. I think that is true for other groups of people also. Also on my previous post I did Burn 30Days but haven't had time to watch it yet. I do plan on going to the Parade on Sunday to take pictures, maybe around spot, I wonder if I should take some pictures at Kleinhans if I wake up early enough or who knows maybe I'll still be up. I guessing I'll just be there for the Parade though. Before I forget The Stripteasers who preform at Roxy's (never been) will be doing a full show on Friday at Nietcehes I think it is like $7, I plan on going to that. Not sure what will happen if I take pictures, maybe pictures with no flash we shall see.

I will admit that after reading the article below I'm not sure if it is possible for people in California to try and stop this. I'm not sure if there is a way to define being married as being a man and women , but in any event it looks like gay Marriage is legal. But that does bring up a question I have? Why not change the tittle of Gay Marriage to Same Sex Marriage. The reason I say this is what if two friends want to get married for the benefits. You know how some guys are so close they are like brothers or two girls are like sisters. Well what if say one of them has a kid if something happens then the other person could raise the kid and they would just take right over. Or what if one of the people gets real sick then there legal partner could do all the legal stuff since they would be legaly married. The other thing it would do is, take of the negative stigma of the word gay it might even make basicly the same thing more exceptable to a lot of people, just and idea. Here is the article.

California court says gay marriages can proceed

By Adam Tanner 1 hour, 1 minute ago

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California's Supreme Court gave the final green light on Wednesday for gay marriages to begin later this month, turning down requests for a delay.

The most populous U.S. state's highest court ruled last month that refusing homosexuals the right to wed violated the state constitution.

Opponents then asked the court to halt the start of gay weddings until November, when the state's voters will decide a ballot measure that, if approved by a simple majority, will define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

"It would have been unprecedented to postpone constitutional rights based on speculation of how a political scenario may or may not play out," San Francisco city attorney Dennis Herrera said.

"Folks can get married on June 17," he said.

The court voted 4-3 to deny the petition to stay the decision. The same judges voted the same way on May 15 in the landmark decision, hailed by gay activists and condemned by social conservatives.

The court's original ruling becomes final at 5 p.m. on June 16, opening the way for gay marriages to start the next day.

"This is another four-to-three vote for legal chaos," Glen Lavy, senior counsel at the Alliance Defense Fund, which is fighting against gay marriage, said in a statement.

"This decision is the most egregious case of judicial activism in modern American history. The refusal to wait for the people to decide by the constitutional process confirms that."

GAY MARRIAGE OPEN TO ALL

Massachusetts is the only U.S. state that allows same-sex marriage, but offers licenses only to its own residents. California has no residency requirement, which means gays from across the United States will be able to go there to marry.

San Francisco, internationally known for its gay community, briefly allowed homosexuals to marry four years ago before a court ended the ceremonies. The legal battle that followed culminated in last month's decision.

Gay marriage remains a topic of hot debate in U.S. politics. More than 25 states have constitutional amendments barring gay marriage.

The group behind the November California ballot measure against gay marriage expects to spend at least $10 million in the campaign.

Polls have showed contrasting trends. A Field poll published last week showed 51 percent in favor of gay marriage and 42 percent opposed. But a Los Angeles Times poll a week before found 54 percent backed the amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman while 35 percent opposed it.

Should that measure pass, gay marriages could again come to an end. But thousands of same-sex couples are expected to tie the knot over the summer.

One other thing I thought of is that there is no requirement to live in CA. So I wonder if that will encourage people to come there to get married and have a ceramonie and then go back to there state where they aren't acknowledged as being married. Then maybe if enough people do that it might get some movements going stronger in states to get at least any marraige rights to be rocongized like how NYS is doing it. In any event very interesting times we live in.
metalpeter - 06/06/08 20:01
You sound like a founding father. When I first heard about this story but didn't want to post anything because the legality wasn't settled yet and I think someone there may still try to challenge the ruling somehow, we shall see.
libertad - 06/05/08 20:00
It is very historic metalpeter. I was not aware of the recent news regarding the CA. supreme court's ruling giving the final green light for same-sex marriaes. That is so awesome! Screw the tyranny of the majority!

30 Days
Category: tv
Morten Spurlock made a movie called Supersize me that was about what would happens if he lived on McDonalds only for 30 days, and it was pretty good. That lead to (maybe the idea for the series came first not sure) a show called 30 days. It isn't all ways him that does the task in his show, for example one time a Christian lived as a Mueslum for 30 days. That one was very interesting and some of them really have been very good. The season Premiere is tonight on FX , I think this is the 3rd season. From what I read online he goes back to his home town and becomes a Coal Miner for 30 days. I'm not sure what the other ones are about but it could be interesting. I will admit I have not seen his newest movie about trying to find Bin Laden , that does look very interesting also.
chico - 06/04/08 09:31
Did you watch the coal-miner episode? It sounds interesting. I've heard coal-mining is shitty, back-breaking work.

2nd life Documentaries
Category: entertainment
So over the weekend I watched two Interesting documentaries. I admit I not one of those "I have to watch everything and find out all the truths of the world and watch anyone that is on". But depending on the subject matter they can be pretty good. The first one was called "Hacking Demacrocy" (how ever you fucking spell it) and it was about how you could steal votes and how Diebold had some security flaws. I admit that I'm not a fan of the electoral college. But maybe if this can really happen and maybe if Ohio was stolen (they never say that it was) then maybe we do still need that kind of protection. The second one I watched was called Molotov Alva. It is about a guy who vanishes in the real world and then appears in 2nd life. There where different chapters to it and it was pretty interesting, granted I have never played or partook in 2nd life so not sure how realistic it was. In this he looked for the creator. things in the game would get compared to his first life and it was interesting and philosphical it was on cinemax on demand. I wound up not watching it in order but I still got the gist of it. I think starting a week from Today HBO starts there series of documentaries I will admit I'm not really sure what they are all about or what most of them are about but I'm sure there will be some I like. I really need to remember that I have sundance and IFC. Yes a lot of there stuff is to indie for me but sometimes they have some great stuff on also.

MMA & Narnia
Category: entertainment
So last night I started to Watch the Penguins game and it was good for the hour I watched but then, I had a decision to make and I went with Fighting on TV. Here is a good link that can explain it much better then I can
(I don't remember if it says what ones where on TV and what ones were not). I know I enjoyed it. One problem though with MMA is that you never know how a fight will be. Sometimes you can have a quick short fight or one where they wrestle and try to get submissions. If you don't understand the submissions it looks very dull and the action is hard to see. I admit I was a little mixed up as why they stopped the fights. I do think it not being on a pay channel may have factored it in, and that a lot of people would be new to it. I really liked the girls who fight that Carano girl is pretty hot and looks like she can fight pretty good. I think last Night was QCRG's Championship Bout and then there was Art & Models Hope those that went to either had a great time. June is all ready going to get kinda busy. Next week is pride, weekend after that is Allentown (hope I can get something this year, money is kinda tight, ok more then kinda), Towards the end of the month I have two Concerts Deathklok (with supporting acts) and Hatebreed. I have a trip at the end of the month. Plus I want to see that Bleach Movie. I thought (e:ladycroft) said she was coming to town in June also.

Tonight is the MTV Movie Awards (live they claim but not sure). I all ways like those because I think the fans vote on most of the awards. Plus they have things like best Kiss and I think they should come up with some new cleaver ones like one year it was Best Summer movie that hasn't come out yet, but I don't remember what one. I won't be watching it live though I'll be Watching Wrestling PPV.

Oh yeah the reason I wrote in the first place was to say I saw the New Narnia movie. With out giving anything away there are a couple spots where things are mentioned that if you read the books you would know about. Disney Decided not to make all the books into movies they are only doing the ones that have all 4 kids in them. So those who have read all the books would know what books those are. To be honest not knowing what they were talking about wasn't a big deal really but to know would have made it better. There is a part where it sounds as if they grew older in Narnia and left but that they had no control over leaving and now when they are back they are younger, but maybe I misread the meaning. I thought that the movie was very good. Story wise it is a little bit darker and there is some more conflict to go along with the action. Not sure if the story is entirely true to the book but the story is pretty good. Oh yeah and the action is pretty good to. I have heard some where that there is Religious meaning in the Narnia Stories and I myself have never noticed it. But that being said I'm sure if you go in deciding to try and find it I'm sure one could, there is one part where it is right out there and you can't mis it. I also do like how the one army looks like something out of the 300 and even the leader of the army looks like the same guy. I thought it was very good.
ladycroft - 06/02/08 10:20
yes, she is coming!
vincent - 06/01/08 22:04
From reading about that show last night I realized that New York State still has a ban on "Ultimate Fighting." It was actually from that guy's article a day before :::link:::
it just reminds me how I had tickets for one of the early UFC's that was to scheduled at the then Niagara Falls Convention Center, years before it became the Casino.

It's just another example of how our politicians totally in their own world. Yea, banning it in NY really slowed down the explosion of the sport. Just think how much money they would of made if the CBS show was @ MSG instead of the Meadowlands Arena or whatever the call that place across the water.
