Place Pricing LobstersCategory: food
I just saw the Red Lobster, Lobster fest commercial which prompted me to look at their website
. They break the menus down by zip code. It was interesting to see the price differences between 14209 and 90210. I kind of figured they would be different but not in the way they are. Like why would a Maine Lobster dish be cheaper there and one with pineapple more expensive here.

Fing's 30th BirthdayCategory: birthdays
Last night (e:fing) had his 30th birthday (e:fing,43693) . It was the first party I was at with the rockband game. I was no so good at it. For a while Chrissy (e:mrdeadlier)'s wife and I played drums together. I hit the top part ad she played the foot pedal. (e:enknot) and (e:megan) were so good at the game - you could tell they had a lot of practice!

It was so exciting to go to a party at someone else's house. (E:fing)'s wife Mary is also a very allergic person so it worked out for me. Usually, I can never go to any parties because everyone has cats or dogs. In general I almost never get to go into anyone's house because of allergies.
It was a pretty awesome time. I am so jealous of (e:fing)'s master bathroom. I always wanted one of those glass showers.

The Best Day of the yearCategory: holidays
I am not Irish. I have no Irish in me at all but I have to say - out of every ethnic Holiday I enjoy St. Patricks day the most.
The parade is so fun. This year we will be missing our half irish ho, ;(

I love the little dancing girls with the bouncy hair. This year I will get lots of pics with a real camera.

I look forward to seeing those pictures. I my self am going to mix it up a bit and go watch the parade from closer to Downtown and see if the view is any different. Hope you have a great time, well time to go so hope everyone has a great time and is safe out there.

The peace bridge plaza petitionCategory: buffalo
Today I signed the online petition
against the peace bridge plaza expansion
. Before you go ahead and scream at me for blocking progress I want to go over why I signed it.
1. I would like to stand in solidarity with other owners of historical homes hoping that if it was ever reversed they would stand by me. I can't imagine if the government came to me and said, hey we are going to give you less than you house is worth and you have to move because we are expanding main street and building a giant truck parking lot - sorry eminent domain. Just think about that for a minute. what if you had planned on living there the rest of your life and had invested a lot of money into your house. I would just leave Buffalo forever at that point.
2. I think that a giant truck plaza is going to create so much more pollution in an area that is just starting to recover from the pollution of its industrial past.
3. Why build all the extra stuff around it. Can't the visitor center and duty free shop be located elsewhere, say more downtownish?
I didn't realize just how much land was going to be taken.

...includes a visitor center, duty free shop and a 477 space parking garage. It is these attributes of the alternative that would result in the highest impacts to the low income residential neighborhood. To minimize these effects, the document should assess alternatives that locate the visitor center elsewhere in the city (e.g., downtown).
Also, we could find no information in the document that supports the need for such a large parking structure at this port of entry...
I didn't realize just how much land was going to be taken.

Here is the thing see in Toronto you have sex stores that are well about sex and then they also have like a video for couples maybe but there are also just video and Magazine places. But in Buffalo that stuff is sold at the same places as the movies. The one sex shop I know of closed a long time. I bet Kimberly's Lingerie sells stuff other then just that. Pandoras box sounds like they are a sex shop and not a porno place but not sure. To be honest she is best to go to the mall. She can go to Spencers to find the Adult stuff in the back of the store and then go to a lingire shop. I wonder did anyone think to ask if she needs a guy to try the toys out on? HA. I wonder if she gets paid to come to Buffalo, HA again.
The other day I briefly skimmed the quoted text and I totally misread "sex stores" as "sex stories", and I was puzzled why someone from a large, diverse city like Toronto was trying to collect sex stories from a smaller city like Buffalo when a bigger city like Toronto would surely have more interesting sex stories.
Yeah... LC I'm not sure I want to know those details! There might be an odd story behind that one.
Um, if Toronto has tons of shops why bother hunting for them in a town you can never find them in?
I'm old fashioned. I'm for ol' fashioned bonin' and not these outfits or whatever.
hmmm....i don't think there are any quality sex shops left in buffalo, besides the run of the mill porn stores. second skin was the only good sex shop we had and that closed down a few years ago. hee hee, i had a lot of fun with a lot of the merchandise from that store at one point in my life. (paul, i bet you can guess when?)
but, maybe there's someone who knows of others.
Buffalo's sex stores are kind of skeevy - as far as I know there's nothing like eg Babeland around here. We always joke about the Porn District that runs along the industrial area of Elmwood between Hertel and Amherst, because that's got to be the only place zoned for it.
I don't think there's anything illegal or suspicious about bringing sex toys into the country, so I'd actually probably recommend buying in Toronto and bringing with.

Wow - what a question! The Canadian dollar is now presenting itself to our area's sex shops instead of the outlet in Niagara Falls!
I only know about that place on the corner of Hertel and Elmwood that has the blacked out windows. I think there is a similar store nearby next to M.Wile.
Oh shit! It just dawned on me. Google time!
Here is Artvoice's Best Of from previous times - there is a "Best Sex Shop" category for her to read.
:::link:::
Is Second Skin still open? Last I knew that was on Allen near where Frank's used to be.
You gotta love a place that doesn't have a name for a name, but an address with a name. Some of you pervs know what I'm talking about!
Maybe she is looking for something like what I saw in Philly, a store called "The Mood" - it was more like a boutique than an off-the-highway joint. I don't even know if we have any stores like that here.
You can't get better in Buffalo than you can at any sleazy sex store with giant billboards along the interstate announcing "DVD/VHS, Fireworks, Knives" can be had at the same location.
