I'm home today feeling like crappola. My throat is swelled up to the point where it hurts to turn my head to the right. (e:Anne) said it's cuz my glands are "squishing" together. Gross.
I never update anymore. I never actually have time to do much of anything anymore. I'm very un-American. I think the last time I got home from work, made dinner and sat on the couch and watched TV was sometime in September. My normal routine is to be at school until like 3, 3:30, then go to some lesson or go to some meeting, then come home for like half an hour and go to some rehearsal. Today is the first day in a REALLY long time where I literally nothing that I HAVE to do (other than apparently buy toilet paper, since we just ran out...). I don't have to go to a rehearsal, I don't have to play at church...it's sort of fantastic. I needed a day like this. If only I didn't feel icky. That would be super.
I really hate TV. I don't when it happened but somewhere along the line, I lost all desire to ever have the television on. Unless it's playing Saved By The Bell or various movies that I enjoy.
I should go eat something. Maybe I'll do some lesson planning today...maybe...

calling on all the tech people once moreOk so I want to make a website for my chorus and music classes. I could do it through the school's teacher website program but a) they are taking FOREVER and i mean FOREVER to give me a password and b) the websites i've seen are pretty basic and boring and I'd like something a little nicer.
Are there any programs people would recommend for making a website that preferrably don't cost much of anything? I'm considering getting a .mac account but it's always $$$$. I just want to make a site because I know my students would really appreciate it and enjoy it, and I would have a lot of fun doing it.
If anyone knows of any web design/publishing programs that work well with OSX and can make decent websites, please let me know, THANKS!

Recycling happens on the same day as garbage day, they pick up every week. You just have to separate your paper from your containers. paper goes in one spot (for me usually a box or paper bag) and plastic glass and metal goes in another spot (under the paper bag). Send me a message if you need to know where to get a recycle bin. The rules in Buffalo are ok, but getting a bin isn't as simple as it should be. They used to drop them off at your door, now you have to go to one of the few pickup locations to get one.

YAYI got a pretty iMac for my desk at school finally. And it has lots of fun exciting stuff on it and I'm happy.
I feel significantly less tired and worn out than I did at this time last week.
It's a fact, the La Nova on Main St. is not as good as the one on West Ferry (aka 5 minutes from my apartment...so dangerous...)
Teaching can be so great and so not great all in one day. Hell, it can be that way in one class period.
Peace out.

you're a D, basically every other day I have to convince myself not to order La Nova for dinner.

13.1I ran my second Half Marathon this weekend! I did the Rochester Half Marathon (I did the Buffalo Half last May) and my friend Nicole ran the full marathon. It was a really good course and I actually really enjoyed myself, even though I was running by myself. It was very funny, I actually finished at the exact same moment as the FULL marathon finisher (this happened last time almost, also.) So as I was sprinting towards the end, the crowds were going crazy and yelling super loud and I was like "what, is this for me?!?!" and then I heard some announcer saying "And the winner of the 2007 Rochester Marathon!" and I was like "ohhhh..." The best part was that the winner of the marathon always runs through tape across the finish line, but since I was literally directly in front of him, I had to kinda crash into the side of the archway over the finish line just so I wouldn't break the tape! I suppose I could have been a jerk and gone through it, hahaha. I wonder how many times that has happened before.
Oh I ran it five minutes slower than I did the first one, but I'm okay with that. YAY! I can't wait to do the full marathon in May finally!
Some pics...
Me and Nicole, bright and early.
(e:Anne) came with me and slept on Nicole's couch. Nicole's dog decided to sleep on her butt once Nicole got up.
Me after the race was over. There's a picture of me running somewhere but it's not on my camera, so this is the only one I have.
We had some time to kill waiting for Nicole to finish the race. While we were walking around the streets someone dangled a carton of Tropicana from their apartment window and (e:Anne) decided to play with it.
The race finished at Frontier Field, which is like Rochester's version of Pilot Field. Inside was a horse statue made completely of baseball gloves.
Cory also came to see me run :)
Me and Nicole after she was finished. She was NOT feeling too good, but running a marathon by yourself must be terrible. Hopefully in May when I run with her she will be much better!

are you still teaching at the same school?
I hear you on the TV thing. When we moved to Syracuse, we didn't sign up for cable, and didn't miss it (except for watching hockey games). When we moved to Florida, we left our ancient, crappy TV set in NY. We haven't replaced it yet, and we really don't miss it (except for watching hockey games, but we have half-season tickets to go see hockey in person now, so even that is not so bad).
The irony? We both have degrees in Television & Radio Production.
Anyway, I hear ya on the sick thing, too - I hope we both feel better soon! Lilho, too! :(
me sicky too! :O(
What church do you play at?
I actually unplugged my cable box this morning. Hopefully this will persuade me to get something else done. Sorry you are under the weather. Get well soon!
