Since (e:fellyconnelly) and I moved to Buffalo we have acquired the habit of drinking beer every night. Granted it is usually like 2 or 3 beers split between us, never enough to get drunk, but enough so that we are going through a twelve pack every 4 to 5 days. This is new for me. I don't drink. Let alone drink beer. I am a wine girl at best, rum and pepsi if I am feeling frisky and want to dance. But beer? Yuck. But you see, Blue Moon tastes light, refreshing, and doesn't have that nasty beer feeling that I find accompanies typical beers. Either way, I am putting a stop to this. Beer is for weekends. Or at least, not every night. Ha! See, there it is already. This is how habits start and I refuse to become an alcoholic because I am bored.
One more thing. My entries have not been showing up in the recent entry column. They are there for a little while and then they disappear. Does anyone else have this problem or I am secretly being shunned from this community? Juuust Kidding.

So, Felly and I come from a (for the most part) liberal town where we felt comfortable holding hands in public and being in public in general. Today we are going for a walk: to the bank to get quarters and to the post office for stamps. Felly says she is still not 100% comfortable holding hands/showing PDA's because we don't really know what we are dealing with here. Now, I know this is the home of Ani Difranco and all, but for all you gay folks out there, what is your opinion on the subject? I, to a certain extent, have "I look like a straight girl" priveleges that give me perhaps a false sense of security, but when my girlfriend and I are together only a small few would mistake us two straight girls out on the town.
Also, I have never lived in a city before, so I am only assuming, but I am sure it all depends on where you go, when you go, and all that jazz. And there are always the few that ruin it for the group.
Anyways, if anyone sees us on our walk, feel free to honk, wave, and yell obnoxious things from your cars.

I've seen guys holding hands and walking up Elmwood a couple times, but myself am uncomfortable with public affection.

Several cities I have spent a good amount of time in I feel comfortable with PDA in parts of them. There are endless stretches of half-drunk frat guys who will ask you to stick your tongue down Felly's throat to urge their tiny, alcohol soaked erections. I can't say for sure though, as lots of homophobes love to sexualize you saphic types and throw rocks at gay boys.

TrickeryI am seeing now that if I don't post I have to deal with the annoying task of figuring out where the last post was that I read because it is not neatly highlighted in orange. Is this a trick to keep everyone posting?
I finally beat (e:fellyconnelly) at Scrabble last night, by ten points no less. Granted she was winning most of the way through and I cheated and looked up a word, "quag" in the dictionary, but its all irrelevant in the long run. I won and it made me a happy lady.
I've been waiting pateintly for my $4,000 dollars to show up in my bank account, but no dice yet. I am nervous about it though because we have been waiting to get this money so we can do things like get new tires for Felly's car and get my oil changed, but this is also money I need to by books for school and put gas gas in my car for the next 4 months. I am not good at budgeting and it has been awhile since I've had that much money in one place. However, Felly should be working soon and that will relieve some of this financial stress.
My cats are sleeping soundly and my girlfriend is curled up with her favorite book and I am type type typing away...it is usually the other way around. 5 Days till orientation.

Oh, man, looking a word up is not cheating in Scrabble... knowing all the admissable 2-letter words and using them to put words right alongside other words (so you get points for like, 5 words at once), now THAT is cheating... (I am currently getting my ass beat at Scrabble on facebook by someone using that technique, can you tell?)

I need to remember that playful doesn't always look playful in type.
I'm going to be nice now, AND next time we play scrabble.

Get me to the choppa!A few weeks ago I noticed a rather low flying helicopter flying over my apt. A few days later I made the connection that there is in fact a hospital only a few blocks away and chances are there will be many helicopters flying overhead. I don't really mind, considering that I can't hear them in the bedroom and they aren't that loud, although they freak the cats out and cause them to go flying into the closet at mach speeds.
Two nights ago Felly beat me at Scrabble by 4 points. Last night I beat her by 5 points, only after she refused to let me lose because she spotted a play that would let me win. I guess it really is all about patience and strategery. Hehe.
Oh yeah. We decided to watch a movie last night through TVLinks which can lend to a certain amount of frustration as the links don't always work OR you can be 20 minutes into a movie and it stops because it refuses to download the rest. So, after 20 minutes of Bridge to Terabithia, we spontaneously chose The Notebook, which turns out is a three hour movie. Ah yes, and I knew it was sad because my lady friends informed of the tears they shared after watching it, but I didn't expect to cry because I am one of those tough girls who only cry when there are animals involved. Well let me tell you, it wasn't like I was bawling, but a single tear welled up in either eye and one even worked its way down a cheek. Sad movie. So very very sad.

"It wasn't over, it still isn't over!" My wife dragged me into watching that movie some time back and it was much better than I anticipated.

Kitty PoetryOn my fridge I have some "GirlTalk" magnetic poetry. After taking it all out of the plastic baggy one by one and placing it on the bottom half of the fridge I have discovered a fun little game. My cat Sid likes to stretch, put his paws up on the fridge and hence, makes kitty poetry. So far we've got "emotional gossip". Fabulous if you ask me.
Felly is busy making a mush caserole of beef, instant mashed potatos, instant stuffing, and cream of corn soup. I can't wait. Seriously.
I really want to go home for the fair. The fair is practically in my backyard and have gone every year since I was 3. It is one of the home town kinda things where you see everyone you do and don't want to see along with the various carnies that acompany the rides and games. Last year Felly got hit on by the carnie who came up to her, conveniently shoving her rainbow armband in Felly's face and asked her to play her game. Hehe. For those of you who are interested the link is I don't know how to do the little link thingy...anyone wanna share?

Well, considering all the crazy ass methods Jackson Mac Low used to write I say you should publish kitty poetry, take Sid on a book tour, and who knows, maybe poet laureate someday.

I am making a prediction that Jbeatty is good to invite to parties.
ooh... magic hat #9 is one of my faves, after blue moon... I guess I should try circus boy then!
Not to encourage any underlying alcoholic tendencies but if you like Blue Moon you would probably really enjoy Magic Hat Circus Boy, Hoegaarden or La Fin Du Monde. I find all to be good without the fruit as well.
lauren is anti citrus fruit... so no orange slice for her... she is also anti cooked vegetables, condiments, sausage, spicy things, white bread, etc....
the moral of this story is really that lauren just would prefer we get a box of wine and call it at that.
1: blue moon is yummy- I hope you drink it with a wedge of lemon (or orange)
2: your journals show up in the recent list just fine for me
