My Buddy
I wanted to have My Buddy so bad when I was a child. My parents wouldn't let me have one. It would be too faggotty for a boy to have a doll. I never got one, but now that I'm looking at them outside of the magical comercials I saw as a kid, I have decided it is way too freaky.

hodown - 05/10/06 09:06
My brother had a my buddy doll. I think he called him joey. I hated the doll with a passion. So in like 6th grade or something I wrote I heart NKOTB all over it (translation I love New Kids on the Block). Yeah I was an evil sister I know.
theecarey - 05/09/06 23:52
"My Chucky" doll. *shivers* They are one in the same... I just know it!!
mike - 05/09/06 23:45
I loved my my buddy that I got from my Aunt Cathy. She was crazy and noone in my familiy liked her yet I was too young to remember her so that was all I had to remember her by and so I always loved it....mine always wore army fatigues for some reason though...(e:paul) was terrified of its chuckie-like qualities and would try to lock it in the basement.
paul - 05/09/06 23:30
I hate this doll. I have him burned into my subconscience since (e:robin)'s party.

Parking Tickets
GRRRRR!!! I got a parking ticket! I live right on the Elmwood Strip (I Park on a side street) so I do believe that I am in the heaviest ticketed area of Buffalo. God, if I just had $30 for every parking ticket I have gotten in my life. Yesterday I was getting ready to go see Poseidon with (e:mike) and (e:jill). Very entertaining I would say. Anyways, my alarm goes off at 5:30 to remind me to move my car. I shut it off and finish getting ready thinking I would move it in a few minutes. I realized at 6:45 that I forgot to move my car. At 6:47 I was looking at the parking ticket I got at 6:44. GRRRRR!!!!

I'm pleading not guilty. The cars are supposed to switch sides at 6pm two times a week. We should have at least an hour before or after six to move our cars. I suppose if they wanted to do street cleaning they could do it at any other time during the week. The cops are being stupid thinking that if they write more tickets they will get what they want. They should write NO tickets and then every freakin politician from city hall will be all over them giving them what they want, kissing their hot tight asses.

Oh, I decided to get a masters in ranting.
jenks - 05/09/06 21:51
I also prefer the Onion's suggested title for poseiden- "the big upside down boat with all the screamy people"
jenks - 05/09/06 21:49
yeah i got a wrong-side parking ticket (along with 20 other cars) when I went to see brokeback... by the time i paid it there was a late fee, then a late fee on the late fee... ended up being $70 to park that night. Today i almost didn't feed a meter on elmwood, but then realized that avoiding a ticket was worth another 2 quarters.
And why stop at master's... get a phd in bitching!

My summer time employment demands
I need a job pronto. Will also work for a forty ounce, but I am negotiable. Seriously, like it would be nice to
make like at least $10/hr. Temp work, whatever. Give me money and lots of it. I also would like the hours of between 9-3 m-f and maybe odd jobs at other times. I would even consider house cleaning, cause even though my house gets messy, I'm a damn good cleaner. I want to use the cleaners I want to use, I don't like using vinegar. If you want to use earthy products that's cool. Yes, vinegar is earthy, but it smells funny. Would also be great at pet sitting, yard mowing, bush wackin and things not involving ladders over three steps. I can do indoor painting as long as you don't have existing lead paint. Don't be bossy, ask me "Libertad, would you do this for me?" I almost always say yes. Money talks. I'm very trustworthy and have the references to back that up. I usually never call in, but if I do then its none of your business. Tips of course are always welcome. I wouldn't mind getting paid in services either, like I'll clean your basement (maybe) if you clean my teeth. I'll clean your house for an hour if you give me an hour long massage (nothing kinky, I prefer professionals). I clean fish tanks and swimming pools (maybe clogged gutters depending on the height). My experience includes:

3-5 years of customer service. (inbound telephone, I will not do outbound unless they are already a customer) I'm good at this i can even get total bitches to chill out.

2-4 years of retail--especially
knowledgeable in pet products

3-4 years of barista experience
Spot, Cafe Aroma and Starbucks out of the question for varying reasons. Spot is OK, but I don't want to work there, I would rather go there.

I'm also educated, so give me lots of money.

There are other places especially nasty corporations like Walmart or PETsMART that can go to hell. You must make decisions that I feel aren't damaging America or any region of the world for that matter. Monopolistic type companies, such as, ATT and Adelphia, PETsMART included are particularly despised. We are all human beings and all need to be treated with respect. Every human being deserves basic rights and corporations that interfere with these rights are evil.

These are my demands for summer time employment. I can change my demands at any time I feel is necessary. Oh and I will need days off, but I can be rather flexible.

If you know of any job that fits my demands, let me know.

Well, the Bridge Commission is hiring seasonals. Like $12/hr till September. It's swing shift, though. The hours suck, but they do end up keeping a few guys on after the season is over. www.niagarafallsbridges.com

Thanks Scott, I'll check out Officeteam. I was definitely considering the temp agency thing.
scott - 05/08/06 17:35
When I needed a job pronto, I got temp work from officeteam...

:::link:::

They pay weekly, about $10 an hour and pay weekly.

Since it's totally temp, you set your days off by notifying the temp agency.

Requirements:
-literacy
-reasonable computer skills (nothing fancy)
-knowing the alphabet (filing)
-a pulse.

A college degree gets an extra buck an hour. (Gee, that was worth 4 years of my life for an extra buck)

I wish I had know you were lookin' for odd jobs a month ago. Could have used some extra labor to help with the yard this spring, but that's all done now...

Hostel
image

So I just saw Hostel, cause I saw it out on DVD and had wanted to see it. I knew what it was about before, and for some reason I thought that I would enjoy it. I'm a little disturbed now that I had the desire to see it. Why would I want to watch torture? That's disgusting. I never ever want to see something like that again. Maybe the movie wasn't that far fetched though. There are really sick and creepy people out there.

By the way, anyone see the complete set of Abu Ghraib torture photos on Salon.com?
