windy windy windy

A piece of the fence blew down between our yard and the yard next door but so far I think that's all the damage this whole storm caused. That's good cause I was gettin nervous... this whole home ownership (or at least 'guardianship') can spawn some serious paranoia about the "elements." But I think all is well.

I'm watching All My Children right now... this is one hardcore melodrama--- an explosion, trapped main characters, deaths.... what a day. Well, it's pretty much just another day. :)

telecommuting is torture today

Well... it's my first entry into this whole thing, and I shouldn't even be typing right now. It's 9pm, I'm watching Weeds(GOOGLE - Weeds ) on Showtime On-Demand so that I can talk about it with my boss in New York tomorrow. Yep. New York. I still can't quite wrap my head around it, but I do work in New York. Except, with the rare exception, I work from my house in Tonawanda. Telecommuting [dict]Telecommuting [/dict]is a wonderful thing... I make nice money in Buffalo (well, sorta nice but that's another story for another time once things that happened today get resolved)... and I get to stay home and chill with my girl (R) and my doggie all day and get madly stressed out about a publication that basically exists in cyberspace... and today, of all days, I worked for almost 12 hours. Even though nobody, except again R and my dog, would have any idea of the time I've put in.

Oh well. I'm not complaining (much). Nobody's telling me to do all this work, and really, at the moment I don't really NEED to do all this stuff.... but I'm doing it anyway. I'm thinking of it as preventative measures, because my dear friend and coworker T is leaving tomorrow for greener pastures, and I'm taking over one of his publications. On top of my own quarterly. Oh jeez. I feel the rage again.

My boss says "the situation will be equalized." We shall see. Nutter story.

Meanwhile, here I am, in my little office with my furry dog, watching Weeds and wishing R could stop overdoing it with HER NYC job. What a life we have, in the Ton-Wan. :)
