Me to Grandfather!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

Born in Bombay 1982, India.
I did my kindergarten in U.A.E in Gulf Model School! Still have fond memories living in Dubai. Well, my father got a call from his father telling him to return back to India as he was missing him and so we wrapped up every bits and pieces of the beautiful life we were living and landed back in India.
Over here my parents put me into this maniac of a school where kids in 2nd std would walk in with a knife!! But I continued doing what I was supposed to do - STUDY! Thinking about it, those were the bratty days where stealing food was fun, bringing frogs in your empty lunch boxes would freak your mother out. I was definitely not the most wanted kid in my house. We lived in a joined family, where I had to play with 7 cousin sisters and being the only grandson wasn't that great at that point in time.
My mother being the house-wife took care of all the babies and the others would be busy in their own glamour world. With all the tensions back home and sudden outburst of family fights wasn't a pleasant scene for me, which is why my parents decided to put me in a boarding school. I was least bit excited to picture myself in a boarding school, just the fact of living away from parents was killing me. Once getting into the boarding school - took me roughly 3.5 months to get over my homesickness. Getting on track with school, I started loving the freedom of not having my parents around, not having them waking me up in the mornings and nagging me through out the day. But at the end of the day I'd still miss them.
This boarding school was huge - 400 acre land and just 350 students. How amazing is that? 5 tennis courts (mud courts), 2 basketball courts, 4 volley ball courts, 4 badminton courts and 4 soccer fields.
Well - leaving all that aside, coming from an art background I wasn't that moved with my grandfather's work but did work in the arts and craft department in my school. I would do the posters for sports day, work on assignments specially assigned by the professors and there would be just a few of us working on them. Working with clay, wood to making animals from mesh to designing on cloths using tie and dye technique and several others. This helped me out to explore my skills in what I can do which at that time when I did try to show my work to my grandfather, he didn't pay much attention!
After that I had decided never to show him my work. I then started going my way in the art field because since the time I was growing up, I always thought art to be a canvas on which paint is splattered to make something! But that was just me. Later down the line, after travelling with my parents, I started learning more about art then I did with my grandfather. I guess to get to know better you got to keep digging your own soul and gain from the ideas from other people.
Moving ahead to the present, I showed my grandfather my work of what I've done in UB after almost 5 - 6 years. He seemed proud and infact started giving attention towards me which was never there a long time back! Infact he is a kind of a person who would give you information and knowledge what you want to know but its for you to figure out the path in life! He has sacrificed his entire family to his work and all the sacrifices has come to use for what he has become in this world now.
Watching him as an energetic artist has inspired me in various ways to deal with art and has definitely broadened my visions of perceiving art!

a Link!

A 'must-see' website for its work with flash on different websites. One of my favourite ones are the photography and the video links. Haven't really explored on the webdesign websites.

In this journal, I'd like to share one of the most important person who has affected a major part of my life. My grandfather - M.F Husain. Down below is a link which talks about his progress as an artist. The last three links to the paintings may not work but I'll be posting in some pictures of his work.
