tonight tonight

1. On my way home I saw a man walking two dogs at once, a great dance and a weiner dog. That was hilarious.

2. Everyone should go check out the art store where the Mix used to be (on Elmwood across from Moda, between Lexington and Highland). There is some really awesome stuff there, which I would buy myself, had I the money or the space to put it. Plus, the guys who work there are really friendly. :)

3. RJ and I are getting our new refrigerator put in tomorrow! We've been waiting since May!

good times and great oldies

It's hard to spend a huge chunk of the day working on the same thing, but good friends and good music make it so much better. :)

bipolar?

I've decided to make a conscious effort to enjoy this day, and a conscious effort to find something good about the road construction which is occurring on either side of my building at this very second.

Firstly, The roads will be a lot better. I have been complaining that those roads needed to be re-paved for a long time, so I got what I wanted. Secondly, I just rode my bike through some bubbling asphalt and oil, which is a totally comforting thing for me to do. When I was a kid, the street I lived on was paved with asphalt and oil. I used to always ride my bike through it in the hot summer and the smell is something I will always associate with childhood. Also, my best friend and I used to play with the tar bubbles as they came up through the road. It's gross I know, but it's really fun to squish them and write things in them with rocks.

Another good thing: I saw (e:paul) and (e:matthew) on the sidewalk today. It was nice seeing you (e:paul) and nice meeting you (e:matthew). :)

not a good dream

I dreamed that I was in a room with my mom at a table. She was eating all this crap (candy, microwave food, etc.) and I was trying to tell her that it was bad for her. She tried to defend herself by telling me it was protein and showing me in the ingredients what was good for her. When she brought it near me I ripped it out of her hands and starting throwing it and magically appearing healthy food on the table instead. She got really mad and started screaming and me and started grabbing at me and hitting me and hurting me. So I started screaming to RJ, screaming that I needed help, that she was hurting me. So he came in and pulled her off me and carried me out of the room away from her and I was crying really hard and he just held me.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

PS: Im getting really sick of all the stupid unnecessary noise in this city. There is no need for construction to start at 7 o'clock in the morning. I was woken up over 2 hours early because I thought there was an earthquake. My entire building was literally shaking. That's just not right. Also, when people are walking down the street at early hours of the morning, they should be fucking quiet! there is no need to scream to your friend across the street and just make random noises! People are trying to sleep!...OK, done complaining.

christmas

I'm getting a digital camera for Christmas, but I don't know which one to get. I'm looking in the $150-$200 range, and I wouldn't really need to print pictures any bigger than 4x6. Anyone have suggestions?

yay!

My night class is cancelled for tonight! It's the boring computer class that I already know everything in. That makes me really happy. Now I have more time to work on my 3 week unit plan which is due on Monday.

Welcome (e:andreweng) !!! In case you didn't realize, this is Rebecca's friend that you went to the bar with. ;) It was awesome meeting you and I am really glad that you checked out the site! (Thanks (e:paul) for the little flyer thing)

[inlink]julie,21[/inlink] (e:julie) don't worry you aren't the only one...although I am in the process of hinting at a Christmas present of that sort... ;)

i hate/heart school

so, in my methods class today i found out that my unit plan is really due this coming monday, two days earlier than i thought it was due.

but, on the good side, i got my proposal and sample lesson back and they were perfect. my teacher loved them.

PS: I didn't really need to see that giant ass tonight. When did it become ok to indirectly insult people a half-world away?

tired and cranky

I am officially sick. I am also officially exhausted, but I have to go to school this morning so that I can take a reading quiz! I know, it's crap. I'm 21 years old, I'm pretty sure at this point I should be held responsible for whether or not I do the assigned reading for a class.

Besides that, this class is "Teaching Literacy." I'm an English teacher, I'm pretty sure I know how to make graphic organizers and find pertinent vocabulary words in a text. Activities such as reading a science article and finding science vocabulary are pointless to me and all the English majors in our class. We should be exempt from you, EDU416!

Also, I feel like I am going to throw up at any minute. I want to lay in my bed all day and watch movies and have soup, but my sense of educational responsibility is too great.

Anyhoo...I should be getting ready instead of writing on here.

PS: Just for the record, I agree with (e:paul)'s decision to create the TOS. It's sad that we need to cover our asses all the time, but it can't be helped. I also feel that my comments here might be unnecessary, since if the majority of us didn't agree with it, then none of us would have clicked "Y / Accept".
