AmericaCorps Service Day!

Hi all! My friend is a member of AmericaCorp and he and his colleagues organized this event on Thursday April 19th in which they basically do an Extreme Makeover for a local Buffalo school. They would love more volunteers to participate in this event. Andrew Gumbo from TLC (The Learning Channel) is going to be there and he's helping out with building stuff for the school.

Here is all of the info:

Hands On Schools, A Revolution!

When: Thursday, April 19, 2007
Registration begins at 7:30 AM
Event will end at 4:30 PM

Where: The St. Augustine's Scholar Program
21 Davidson St .
Buffalo , NY 14215

What: Volunteers will paint, build and clean at a school that may be lacking in resources, but is not lacking in excellence.

Why: An alternative middle school, Saint Augustine will be put through an "Extreme Makeover" style transformation, giving unused classrooms brightly colored walls with new computers.

If you can make it please do so b/c this is for a really good cause and my friend will love you. He bribed me into it b/c he said that Andrew Gumbo is going to be there and I think he's one of the most hottest men alive and I get to meet him! Yay! But of course I'm doing this for the kids and helping them have a better school.

:)
