Driving Fire Trucks
I have to say that you get a rush, when you drive a fire truck at 4:00 in the morning. The siren is used sparingly and there is no one on the roads. Last night, well this morning when i was about to go to bed, my fire company was toned out as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) for a fire. The RIT team is a select group of firefighters that are trained in special opperations at a fire scene. I do not possess all the training for this team. I do have some of the training, and i am an interior firefighter, so every once in a while i get to help. I am though qualifed to drive the truck, so i get to go as the driver.
One of these nights i hope to get a full nights sleep.
