Please join TechNoir Events at Broadway Joe's for an evening of the BEST of NewRetrowave (NWR), Dreamwave and Synthwave.

You will hear bands like: Mega Drive, Power Glove, Miami Nights 1984, Com Truise, Perturbator, Lazerhawk, Futurecop!, AIRGLOW, Compilerbau, Daniel Deluxe, Tokyo Rose, VHS Glitch, Mega Corp, Kick Puncher, Ex-Machina and Denovomutans.

If you like neon lights, 1's and 0's, bad computer graphics, laser grids and cars with gull-wing doors, this music is for you. Feel free to dress in your retro 80's best: neon colors, animal prints, jean jackets, big hair, fanny packs, huge earrings, spandex pants, airbrushed t-shirts, miniskirts, or some sweet Ray-Bans. There will be black lights!

For those who are not familiar, NewRetrowave is an electronic music genre that harnesses the inspiration and authenticity of 80's music for today's generation. Since it's emergence as a genre in 2011, NewRetroWave has grown and evolved into a prominent musical hub and online presence. Stylistically, it ranges from light synth-pop with Eurohouse dynamics, to soundtrack music created for 80’s films that never were, but which are almost willed into existence by the dedicated music video collages of footage from the era.

Admission for this event is FREE.
Age limit is 18+. Anyone under 21 must provide proper photo ID. IDs will be checked.

Once again, we will be projecting images within the stage area and separate visuals will be on the tvs.

DJs for the evening include:

Nekrotique: DJ Nekrotique is the Owner and Founder of TechNoir Events and is an album reviewer for Brutal Resonance webzine. She has hosted a variety of alternative-themed events over the last 7 years, and has DJed at many of Buffalo and Rochester's alternative music venues. She has also guest DJed on Buffalo State College's radio station, WBNY 91.3 FM.

Einsam Fechter: Einsam is the host of Uprising, a monthly event held the first Friday of every month at Broadway Joe's. His nights feature EBM, Industrial, Synthpop, Futurpop, Goth, you name it. For our event, he will be playing music he normally is unable to play on his nights. He has also guest DJd for Radiation and has been the DJ for shows in Buffalo.

Vomit: Vomit has DJed for numerous TechNoir Events, at Radiation dance nights and at Integration Events' Pyre parties. He also was a DJ at City Club in Detroit when he resided there. He is a tattoo apprentice at INK, Inc., a licensed cosmetologist and has sold upcycled and modified clothing on Etsy under the name Five Plagues.

Scarecrow: He comes home and works on art and music. He has no social life. He used to be in a band. He does sfx makeup. Owns more horror and sci-fi movies than amazon.com. The end.

Energon: Genre spanning DJ Energon got his start DJing parties and events in the Rochester area. He has DJed throughout upstate NY and is currently the resident Friday DJ at Vertex. There, he has become known for the variety of theme nights he has hosted over the last 3 years. He is an artist and photographer who's work has shown at the Rochester Erotic Arts Festival as well as a number of small spaces around Rochester.

Parking: You may park on the surrounding residential streets, the NFTA (subway station) lot across the street from the venue, or the Aldi's parking lot. Please do not park in the lot adjacent to the venue that is owned by the bakery as they WILL have your car TOWED! Also the parking spaces in front of the building are considered a bus route and a no park zone from 1:30am-7am, starting Nov. 15).

N3wt (from the band Armageddon Party and former bar back at Club Diablo) will be spinning from 7-8 pm (not live PA)

DJ Soma (former WBNY 91.3 DJ The Space Time Trip radio show and local EDM scene promoter and WNYSOR member, also has DJed everywhere) will be spinning from 8-9 pm

DJ Einsam Fechter (from Uprising, 1st Friday of the month at Broadway Joe's) will spinning from 9 til whenever he feels like stopping.

This event may go past 10 for people that want to stick around after the vendors pack up at 10.

This is not a dance party. However, since the music will be super awesome and there's alcohol involved, we can't be held responsible if dance party time occurs in random areas.

There is a fee to vend and you must provide your own table/racks/chair. Fee depends on how much space you'll need and ranges from $5-$15. Let us know if you prefer to be inside or outside. Inside space is limited and costs more money, so first come first serve!

We'll be taking payments online and by cash ONLY (no checks or money orders)!!
Only Amy and Tony will be accepting physical cash payments.

5 x 5 spaces (enough room for a card table and hanging rack) are $5 for outside and $10 for inside.
(The lights will be on inside, the bar will be open, please note the music provided for the event will not be super loud, but it will obviously be louder inside)

If you need more space than 5 x 5 the fee will be $15 whether you're inside or outside.

Our three DJs for the evening include some well-known names in the local scene:

ArcaTek- Radiation Dance Party- (Buffalo, NY)
ArcaTek is the current resident DJ for Buffalo's most popular monthly goth/industrial dance night, Radiation. He also used to be the resident DJ on Saturday nights at the Continental in Buffalo for nine years, on Saturday nights at Red Square in St. Catherines, for two years at OPM Lounge (for the events Wicked Wednesdays & Radiation Fridays), and for one year at The Atomic on Thursday nights in Buffalo, NY. He has also done guest spots in Boston, Montreal, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Albany. ArcaTek has been DJing for 12 years at various clubs spanning 2 countries.

DJ Leah: - The Darkside radio show- (Buffalo, NY)
DJ Leah has been hosting a weekly goth/industrial radio show on Buffalo State's college radio station WBNY 91.3 FM since 2002. She has also Djed in Syracuse, Vertex in Rochester, as well as at Buffalo haunts Groove, OPM, Sound Lab, 658 Lounge, The Continental, and Club Diablo.

DJ Golden Dove: - (Buffalo, NY)
Golden Dove began his DJ career at SUNY Potsdam's college radio station, 90.3 FM WAIH, playing Electro-Industrial, EBM, Terror EBM, etc. He also ran music for a commemoration of Poe's death party. The event was a combination of burlesque performers and readings of Poe's works. He also has experience DJing at Club Diablo and has performed experimental glitch music at Nobody's art gallery in Buffalo.

I am throwing a Steampunk cosplay event on May 12, 2012 at The Forvm in Amherst. Featuring a live band, burlesque and belly dance performances, Pyromancy, vendors and photography. Admission is $10, it's 17+. Steampunk dress is encouraged, but not required.
