The next day I don't think we got up until noon. We decided to walk over to the gayborhood for brunch at a place called Sambucas. I've never seen such a high concentration of gays in one spot before - Keith had to have been the only straight guy in the restaurant. (e:Paul) had a missed connection walking down the street. A man wore leggings unironically.
Next we walked down to the lake to hang out, stopping at the antique aka hoarder mart. It literally smelled like cat ladies and hoarders in this giant warehouse. The actual public market looked way more awesome but it was closed.
The galleria of hoarding and estate sales
Handy commemorative Afghanistan rug(Route of (?) with help of America and Britain?)
The actual market
(e:paul) and I climbed this - we almost didn't make it back down
Someone hit the car in the garage and ditched, but a lady saw and left a note. So lame but it was only a scratch so whatever
I drove back for part of the way and there was only one near casualty. Gonna be a pro at this rate.
I really liked going away for the weekend. Toronto is so close, and always has stuff going on so I don't know why we don't think of it more. Is it because there's no cell phone service for us?

Andy C and Wilkinson at Sound AcademyCategory: dancing
At night we stocked up on beer and hung out for a while before going to the show.
(e:libertad), (e:paul), me, (e:keith) and (e:terry)
The Andy and C and Wilkinson were insanely good and so was the venue and the sound. We danced so hard that (e:paul) and I had to go shirtless like all the bros were.
On the way back Dave and I saw these drips of blood followed by a big puddle at a bus stop. I wonder what happened there?

it is funny how you talk about the dancing with the shirt off, only because I didn't get into the details of it.... But there was a party we both went to years ago where these guys took off their shirts and where dancing so we thought they where gay and they where just French I think

Afternoon in TorontoCategory: toronto
This weekend, (e:paul), (e:terry), (e:libertad), (e:keith) and I headed up to Toronto for Andy C and Wilkinson as part of Bass Week Toronto. We didn't end up leaving until about 3 on Saturday but that gave us more than enough time to walk around part of downtown.
The Westin hotel was super nice and only a mile away from Sound Academy. I don't understand why check in isn't an automated process by now though, it was so packed.
I hadn't been to Toronto since 2007, I think. It's crazy how many more towers and how much further and bigger their downtown has gone since then. They definitely don't think twice about knocking down the old for the new - how could you when you're that big?
Downtown Toronto is really overwhelming. There's so much going on at once trying to get your attention, like noise and advertising that it gives me the same feeling of walking around the crowded Galleria or Walmart.
Tallest penthouse in Canada - coming soon for only $18mil
It took us forever to decide where to eat but we ended up at this Thai/bar place on Yonge Street. I had the green curry which was okay. No idea what the restaraunt was actually called
A little Christmas tree with bedazzeled gifts

Air filters need to be changedCategory: house
The air filter for the furnace is supposed to be changed every three months. We haven't changed it since October. (e:Paul) and I got a new one today, but if this is the filter I can't imagine what our lungs are taking in.
joe - 04/03/14 12:55
Probably, but still gross! and that's a good idea (e:fing). I can't imagine the efficency hit the furnace takes when it's this clogged.

I'm surprised it is that dirty, you probably should change it every month at that rate.

You guys should look at Lowes online. They sell a pack of them that usually ends up being a good price. Also if you have fresh ones laying around you probably are more likely to change them on time. That is my experience anyway :)

Ich bin ein SpaghettifresserCategory: deutsch
Lately (e:Paul) and I have been eating so much spaghetti and pasta for dinner. Usually it's the corn-potato-soy noodles from Target or Wegmans, sometimes the quinoa. Last night we had this crazy good fresh rice pasta from Wegmans. Paul put butter, cheese, walnuts, and we ate it with boiled greens, asparagus and chopped purple cabbage.
Watching these videos from this comedian called Ladykracher, we learned the German slur for Italians is "spaghettifresser" or someone who eats spaghetti like an animal. I don't know if that's actually offensive to an Italian but it doesn't seem to have much of a punch in English. I'm not Italian but I'm definitely a spaghettifresser.

I wouldn't trust that it would hold up.... The interesting or odd thing is don't know if that showed up pre or post olympic games but they had them or that symbol to promote the olympics before hand.... I saw one on something at a Blue Jays game (as picture not statue) ..... The odd part is the company I work at took that Eskimo I think symbol inukshuk don't remember what "It means" and put it on some stuff... If you go above what you are supposed to do you can be nominated and get a chip and those tied in some how...... I have never been to that part of Toronto or Molson Amphitheatre glad everyone had a great time .......
So you climbed the thing leftover from the Winter Olympics in Vancouver?
I love Toronto, you guys were right by the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.
I don't drive so I can't say.... But I would assume that the 2 hours there and back is a factor.... But also if you like to mobile post that could be... Or if text a lot that could be a factor.... Toronto is great but it doesn't seem like something you can just do spontaneously like things around here ?
