Bass Week Toronto - Andy CCategory: dance
The last night of the week that I was supposed to take a vacation that I never happend, we went to Toronto to go see Andy C at Sound Academy.
It was an amazing 24 hours with about 6 miles of walking around the city to eat and then to and from the club to the Hotel.
Dancing to Andy was awesome. I believe the Sound Academy used to be the place called The Docks in the 90s. Its such an amazing location on the outer harbor.
Despite the posters promoting it on the street, I did not eat any LSD like 17 year old me would have.

Lexington Coop Good Prices?Category: food
Seems like everything is on sale. Some of the prices were actually competitive with price rite. For example the asparagus was the same price per lb but looked much nicer. Few more days till it is open till 11PM - whoop.
tinypliny - 04/04/14 03:26
Why were they open till 11 for such a short time? Are they closing down or something? I thought this was a spring-summer timing thing - its not?

This blew my mind (e:tinypliny). I was wondering at first if I just forgot what food should cost.

Melting Point Grilled CheeseCategory: food
Went to lunch this week at melting point on Allen. The food was real good an the prices pretty reasonable. I would go back. I wish they had a gluten free sandwich option.

The Job I Love From HellCategory: work
I seriously can never escape. I love what I do, I find it totally rewarding, but I really work all day everyday. This week I was supposed to be on vacation, including last thursday but everyday I worked for huge portions of the day. Yesterday for 12 hours which is 2 hours over my normal work day if I wasn't on vacation. I wake up with work phone calls and I stop working from bed as I go to sleep where I dream about work problems and then wake up to a work phone call.
In December I lost 4 days when they expired. Now I am losing about 60+ hours by April 1 because there is no time for me to take vacation. Everytime I try there is some mega project that needs to be done right now followed by a bunch of little things that are helping other people but add up.
I really can't ignore any of them it seems. Everytime, I ignore email, I just get a phone call. I keep asking myself why I am doing this when there are plenty of jobs out there that are better fit to my sanity...

Hmm.. Baltimore. I'd be an hour away! We could totally hangout every weekend. But wait, once a workaholic, always a workaholic! :P

The federal agency I work for is currently recruiting Systems Analysts and Developers. You'd have to move to Baltimore, but that's not necessarily a negative. If you're interested, you can find the job postings on USAJobs.gov and here are the job titles and vacancy ID numbers: Analyst (105 Field Office Internal Hire), Java/Ab Initio (SH1085724), and Experienced Analyst (SH1085177). They'd probably bring you on with a starting salary somewhere close to $100K, depending on experience (and it sounds like you have a lot), and you could move up quickly and increase the pay significantly. Send me a message if you want more details/info offline.

Thank you, (e:iriesara), for being so direct about it. I wholeheartedly agree. (e:Paul) has a complete lack of work boundaries. He has a team now, he can delegate.

It amazes me that as health-conscience (and as much of a hypochondriac) as you are, you continue to work these hours. Lack of sleep and an excess of stress are both terrible to your overall well-being, and manifest themselves in all types of bodily reactions one would not imagine. RELAX!!! You are well-valued as a professional and could find a rewarded, well-paid position anywhere (I'm sure, although I don't know the market for whatever it is you actually do, and you know I don't understand about that stuff). Take care of YOURSELF and loved ones, Paul. 60 HOURS OF VACATION TIME THAT YOU LOST!?!?! That's just fucking stupid. (You know I say that from a place of the utmost love.)

Just finished working for today now. Not sure why but I am pretty sure I won't continue to much longer at this rate.

So, why are you doing this when there are plenty of jobs out there that are better fit to your sanity?

btw, LSD is not particularly a good thing for your neurochemicals homeostasis, in the long run.
What are those pretty gems wrapped around paper bundles?
