Last night (e:terry) and I went out for Mardi Gras on Allen with (e:heidi), (e:dianne), (e:xandra) and (e:czarkasm). Poor (e:paul) was sick and working late :(.
We went to Nietzche's at first. I entered the butt contest but (e:mike,58760), you would have been disappointed because it wasn't really even a contest. Whatever, any excuse to moon a bunch of people. Terry says I might have shown a little too much of the goods.
I ran across the street for a bit to Brick Bar, where I met up with Lindsay, Catherine, Andrew and some other guy. I also saw Lisa there for her 21st birthday, she was absolutely cray.
I went back and finished the night at DBGB's with everyone again. We danced for a bit and headed home around 1:30.
My ride in the next day was rough for sure.

Frau Schulz 's 'toothache'Category: deutsch
Besides using duolingo to German, I've started to use this old book that (e:terry) used to learn Deutsch called German: How to Speak and Write It. Apparently it's pretty standard but it's also redonk old, like post-war old. It's helpful to have entire passages as opposed to single sentences in duolingo. The drawings are cool also.
It's also crazy dated in a sexist sort of way. Paul and I were reading one of the passages and it says
And there's a semi-dirty passage about Frau Schulz getting her hole filled at the dentist. For only 5 dm!
Whenever you go on vacation, pack at least two suits and 6 handkerchiefs.
Anyway I hope going through this will help me get better at speaking and grammar. Ich will einmal nach Deutschland gehen!

Guide at the Niagara: "My ladies and gentlemen, this is the strongest waterfall of the land, and if the ladies would shut up for a moment, you can hear the terrific roaring of the water!"

Sunday in the Park with EmilyCategory: hiking
On Sunday we woke up and (e:terry) made an amazing breakfast.
Keeping with the theme of lazy weekend we sat around for most of the day, before Terry and I went on a walk. (e:paul) was sleeping since he was starting to get sick :(.
We met up with Emily who was still recovering from her night out an ended up walking around the park. She kept singing this ridiculous song from some art video called "Sunday in the Park with George" and it's been stuck in my head since then.
On the way back Terry and I stopped at Spot for coffee. Then we got home and made more veggie barley soup. It's so freaking good, especially with the fancy cheese blend Paul shredded.

Easter LightsCategory: holidays
Seen at Wegmans on Saturday. Soon everyone will just decorate their houses with string lights year round. We're ahead of the curve, the Halloween lights never came down.
Before we went to Wegmans (e:paul), (e:terry) and I met up with their hilarious friend Brian for lunch out at Saigon Bangkok in Clarence. He's on tour for a show of Joseph and the Technicolor" Dreamcoat with Diana DeGarmo (old American Idol contestant my sisters were obsessed with).

hundertsechsundneunzigCategory: bikes
This year I have driven 196 miles for work. 176 have been mostly for work in my car, plus 20 for work on Thursday in (e:paul) and (e:terry) car when the streets weren't plowed. Some cheating if you consider I go places with Paul and Terry in a car but if they would bike I would. For reference I tracked 287 miles on my bike this month, 666 for the year, plus whatever I didn't track and what I walked. My goal is to drive under 100 miles a month.
I'm still on the same tank of gas from last year. I can't wait to get rid of the freaking car and the only reason I need it.
