Sick Temporarily
Category: body
I am also sick. I have a horrible hacking cough and dizzyness. I hate being sick but it seems I am inevitably sick for Halloween, New Years and Early March sometime. Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with going out at night with friends in enclosed places (bars, family events, shopping, etc) in the winter where everyone else is sick. The less I go out, the less I get sick.

On the uplifting note I went to a primary care doctor for the first time in years, like 8 years I think. They did complete blood work and I look pretty normal. At least everything was in normal range so I guess my pretty good diet works despite the random issues I have had in the past.

NOOO are you going to miss NYE dinner?! the best dinner of the year! Sidenote: i think I have better cholesterol and I have a steady diet of burger king, pizza, bacon and liquid cheese but I"m not 100% sure, I'll have to check my chart again.

Basra Escaped From His Pen
Category: pets

He got out and shut off his heater. I tried to explain to him how getting out was stupid and there was no way to go outside no matter how many boundaries he overcame as it is freezing out. Plus I jist don't think he would fair well on the stairs. He just wasn't having it.

Wedding at the Garret Club
Category: weddings

We attended a wedding at the Garret Club on Cleveland Ave for one of (e:Terry)'s clients. The food was amazing and we had a great time with the people we met. The event was black tie so we rented tuxes. (e:Terry) looked so handsome in his tux.

Retina Display Macbook Pro 15 Inch
Category: computers

I got my new work computer on Friday at 4:30. It requires a lot of setup but the hardware is amazing including the screen. I am kind of mad about an ordering snafu where I grabbed the one without the discrete graphics card for the same price as the one with it. If it was my personal laptop and/or the purchase and setup process at work was faster, I would definitely return it. But I don't want to end up waiting another month and it seems so complicated. Maybe I should just write to apple and see what they can do.

Golden King Crab and Artichoke Soup
Category: food

I took some of the extra scraps from the new years crab bag and made myself some artichoke heart soup.

I started with veggie bullion, and added frozen artichoke hearts, corn and pees along with some scallops, a fee small shrimp and a few slices of squid. I cooked this for a while with some butter and some olive oil. Then I aded some clear mung bean noodles and the crab.

I let it simmer till the crab was completely thawed and then covered and let it sit for about 20 minutes while I lifted weights and the noodles absorbed the juice.

It was probably the best soup I have ever had in my life. The crab was exceptionally sweet and the artichoke hearts balanced it out perfectly.
