(e:Joe) and I had to go run some errands on the blvd last night to return bead board to lowes and get some bikes repaired at Bert's.

I noticed Trader Joe's was open when (e:terry) and I went to Lowes to buy the bead board in the morning.

Joe has been talking it up non-stop so we decided to check it out. It was slam packed but they managed to expedite checkout to just a few minutes despite the shoulder to shoulder customer crowd.

I got so many great things for so cheap. Who would have thought I would be able to get such great products at such a cheap price. The bag of lagosttinos for $11 was an especially amazing deal even thought it wasn't cheap it would have easily been $25 elsewhere.

It is pretty amazing how much organic produce they have for great prices.... I can afford to buy mostly organic and high quality food there for so cheap. I love it!

The new bathroom is coming along

At this point we are already about $5000 over a budget which I already thought was insane but it looks like its going to be beautiful. I can't imagine what it will really be like as a final product despite having brought all of the pieces in close proximity. We are still waiting on some tile.

We gave up on beadboard and decided to just do matching marble trim which is part of the cost hike.

Omg that was frustrating. I've been looking into it more because I wanted to realize what was going on. I'm pretty sure at least two of the disks in there were on a RAID controller (the 4TB virtual drive). I found out in the Apple documentation (http://movies.apple.com/media/us/osx/2012/server/docs/Xsan_2_Admin_Guide_v2.3.pdf) that you have to use a separate RAID managment tool to set up the volumes, since apparently you can't create a LUN using Disk Utility?

"To set up other combinations of RAID arrays or slices, use the management software that comes with your RAID systems to create the arrays before you add the resulting LUNs to your SAN’s storage pools.
Note: Don’t use Disk Utility to format arrays or slices for use with Xsan. LUNs are labeled and initialized when you add them to a storage pool using Xsan Admin. After they are labeled, the LUNs can’t be modified using Disk Utility."

So I think the fact that we even touched the first volume with Disk Utility was screwing it up so that we couldn't see the other LUN, until we started erasing it. I think it would have been nice if they let you know that in the set up, lol.

You were also right that it'd be a huge pain in the ass to use fibre channel if something went wrong. Apparently if you lose/something happens to the disk or volume the metadata LUN is on, you lose access to all your storage LUNS without a redundant metadata controller.

Terrible documentation on Apple's part.

I think it is time to let go of elmwoodstrip.org. We switched to estrip.org so long ago and it remains simply a redirect that serves no purpose but costs me $12/year. Does anyone see a problem with that. I got until December to decide.

I agree you should keep it. $12/year is nothing, not even a day's lunch for you. ;-) and "elmwoodstrip.org" sounds more appropriate than saying "estrip.org".

You know much more about the internet then I do and how searches work.... But I would think if it only costs $12 a year to keep it... I assume that if someone does an internet search for elmwoodstrip this site then comes up and for that reason it has value... But where it might have more value that no one else has it..... I also wonder if it can be sold... Reason I say that is when I saw the chalk on the side walk infront of stores I thought it was a tie in with those stores I would think even though it is .org and not com or even xxx domain that it might have value for someone using it that way .....

On a side note what ever happened to the food reviews site you had....

I guess it is fine. I mean if you have no sense of history or devotion to the past and are not a hoarder even of web addresses as I think I am.
