Office chair & plantsCategory: work
We still need chairs for guests and a coat hook rack.
Our desks have these strange cord keepers with brushes. They meet in the center and then also have little brushes along the window side of the desks. A very strange innovation.

And an extension cord. ;o)
Looking great. I like that innovation as well....curious how it works out.

that is seriously one awesome innovation! The #1 reason why cords need replacement in an office environment is the constant bending against desk edges. They get stretched out too much where they smash against the desk. What a neat idea to have brushes absorb the impact. these are "smart desks"!

Desks!Category: work
We got two beautiful solid wood desks and returns from Buffalo Business Interiors. The warehouse is HUGE - just ridiculous numbers of identical chairs and desks. Each new giant room was another laugh. It was pretty overwhelming but we waded thru two floors of stuff and found three sets we liked. Well, two sets we both liked and one that I liked. We went with the nicest looking of the two. PartnerTBNL fell in love with a custom $12,000 desk that had been used and refinished and is now selling for $2,500. Oi. Of course, my dream desk is an antique oak one which I'm sure will cost a pretty penny as well.
We're waiting for internet connectivity. And the PartnerTBNL needs a chair.

oops I mean $4K. For $4000,000 you could buy a real house in heart of Manhattan after demolishing whatever was there before.

Whoa, is furniture that expensive always? I saw this low table that I liked and it was $4000k.
But then, I don't have any real furniture and have seldom shopped for any, ever.

Hungarian mushroom soup v2Category: food
In (e:heidi,55503) I made this Hungarian Mushroom Soup. I'm making it again, this time with the Hungarian half-sharp paprika and a selection of mushrooms. It's still brewing and it's already way better. I'm completely sold on the paprika. I had no idea it could have flavor. I thought it was just for coloring.

I love Hungarian Mushroom Soup. We usually make it like they do in Moosewood. Usually without the milk. you make me hungry.

It's a bit of dill on top. The mushrooms are definitely more interesting. I asked about the "full sharp" paprika and ladies at the spice store looked at me funny and said it must exist somewhere. I don't want to hear about your version of this soup because you will wreck it. It'll have quinoa, cumin and beets in it and won't have any dairy. :-p

Interesting! Do all those mushroom bring different flavours to the soup? Do they retain their flavours in the base?
I don't like mushroom because of a very lame reason. I ignore them all the time and they smell awful when they spoil in the fridge. This might just be reason enough to try making my version of your soup. :)

Looks super yum! How do they grade what is full-sharp? Tasting or some other objective test?!
BTW, discovery of the week. If you dilute your soups (any soups) with some water, in ~70 soup/30 water and steam quinoa in that base, the results are spectacular. They are beyond fantastic, if you then mix them with oven roasted garlic mash, vegetables seasoned and sautééd with a bit of olive oil, mustard seeds, cumin and red chillies. Recommended vegetables: green peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, red onions and a sprinkle of cilantro.

Yummy!! I can see the second is a frittata and home fries. What's the first?
