Thanksgiving
Category: holiday
The family had thanksgiving dinner today. After dinner, A and I took all six kids to see Puss in Boots at the historic Victoria Theatre. ($5 for adults, $3 for kids under 12 and two already had free passes for getting good grades so $28 for 8 people. Concessions are super cheap too.) Then we played Qwirkle. I know what I'm getting someone for xmas.

Worst passwords of 2011
Category: tech
(e:terry), see #23.

Ah Ok that makes sense..... I know at work all passwords have to be changed every like 90 days.... I assume that is so that it keeps then current and cuts down on the chance of someone getting a hold of it and seeing stuff they aren't supposed to see.... I think though it can be tricky though to at home come up with good pass words has to be something no one will guess and that one can remember (and then they say that every site should be different) well then that means you would have to write them down? Um bad idea if anyone finds them then they have everything..... Interesting in any event

A lot of companies do audits of all of the passwords their employees use to make sure they comply with password security rules. Ideally the system enforces those rules when setting the password but that is not always possible.

Then lists can be compiled from those audits. At that point, the passwords are no longer tied to individual accounts so its not insecure to publish the list.

I saw this article and didn't have time to read or maybe same subject different writer and 2 quick questions....

1. Why would anyone give up their password ? If they do seems like it would be a bad one based on someone willing to just give it away?

2. Any Company that would publish or let this info out is unless I don't get something not a company or service any one should use?

Granted everyone on line should learn about how to make their stuff secure and maybe this article will reach people..... ????
