Solé on elmwood
Category: food
First off they did an amazing job on thr decor and presenntation. I never madr it to juniper ao I am not sure how nuch was already there but I love thee setup od the restaurant.

I had the fish tacos. They were pretty yummy and looked great but they were also $16. Everyone knows I have no problem spending money on food, but expensive Mexican food labeled as "street fare" seems like a contradiction to me.

The guacamole was good for me because it was not spicy, I think (e:terry) and (e:Heidi) felt different about the spiciness. They make it right ay the table which is pretty fun to watch and then server it in a stone pot.

In general there were a whole lot of tasting soubding items on thr menu that I would try and would try it again.

I bet its going to be hard for then to compete with the new Mexican restaurant being opened by the seabar folks at Allen and Elmwood.

I'm glad you had a good time. From everyone I have heard who has went to it since it went on elmwwod they said it was horrible, the staff was rude, the food was messed up and not that good, and it was expensive for how not good it was. And a lot of complaints about the horrible service and waiting like an hour to get even their drinks let alone their food. I guess it must be improving

I do want to try that place that isn't open yet on Allen never made it when it was steal crazy...Heard it moved out to the Galleria but not there very often so I don't know..... Trying to think of the last sit down Mexican place I went to eL carlo or something like that they got shut down Illegals pretending to be Mexicans I think was the problem.... My Point is what is it like to eat in kinda a fancy Mexican place? To me sounds kinda at odds I do miss Chi Chi's though that was the place to go.....

We went to the Elmwood location a couple of weeks ago with (e:leetee) "s mom. Everything we ordered was screwed up in some way. I got a pork taco special and everything was at room temperature and the rice was underdone. (e:leettee) got a mahi mahi tostada. it was cold. And my mom in law got the peruvian hen. It was hot but everything else on the plate with it was cold. They comped two entrees.

The decor is nice. And it is noisy. Hopefully, with time, the kitchen will get better at getting food while it is still hot. We enjoyed eating at the Walker Center location.

The mojito was awesome. The food wasn't spicy enough even though we had asked for the guac to be spicy. The decor was beautiful and the chairs were comfy, although the space was rather noisy.

The internet
Category: work
Argh, I wish I could just take back the last five years of my life and replace my thankless deskjob with something more exciting and profitable. Its like there was/is this internet goldmine and I had a pick and some land staked and did nothing with it.

It all started when I was looking at and I read their about page

It really made me question why I did what I did when there were like 10 billion other possibilities if I just had some more people to work with. I guess I was just always averse to risk, but like they say you can never gain anything if you don't risk anything.

The First comment is very true.... Now (e:strip) did expand out west with (e:lisa) but I guess that didn't take off as far as people wanted... Now there are people on Here who have moved other places (The Key is if they had the computer skills) they could do local version of (e:strip) in say NYC and Washington and out in AZ and maybe Boston (think someone moved there not sure) .... What made (wasn't on it then) Facebook at the time amazing was that it was made so that people in college could keep up with each other yes kinda like (e:strip)... Imagine if (there maybe I wouldn't know) a website like (e:strip) in a bunch of cities and it was run locally and you could join it if you didn't live there to keep up on the city but everything was local... Now some how all these independent sites where connected in some way Where if someone was looking for a local site they would find the one they wanted.... I hate to use the facebook example because it is the most famous site that everyone knows. But what if say when you went on facebook it was local only. But every local site was owned by the same company and ran pretty much the same way.... I could see you setting up sites for people like (e:strip) in other cities.... Again not sure if that is what you want...Or if you just want more people to Join here... Or if you want people to come here for news before Buffalo Rising......

The idea is to look into the future and how you can change because thinking about the past, though satisfyingly agonizing, is not going to help you at all.
tinypliny - 06/13/11 08:00
It's not too late... you are not 80!
uncutsaniflush - 06/13/11 01:07
You shouldn't assume that if you did something like this, your life would be better and you would be happier. The only thing that you can be sure of is that your life would have been different.

From what I remember from about 5 years ago, you wanted (e:strip) to be non-commercial. I don't think you were interested in the commercial exploitation of the internet then.

But consider this, mobile broadband is still sorting itself out. Perhaps you were meant to do great things with mobile broadband and change how people think about it forever.

Just saying. You know you have the skills.

Save the boobies?
Category: cancer
What a strange concept for a fundraiser for breast cancer: an alcohol fueled club crawl. Nothing says healthy like bar crawl.

Though as (e:Mike) pointed out, it is nice to have an alternative to all the races.

All the ladies handing these out where all pretty hot and don't remember the racks but sure they where.... I think the fact of the matter is that for young women to touch them selves in a non sexual way this is about the only way to get them to do so?
