Day 1 Allentown Art Fest

I had a good time today and decided to go with small art instead of a big piece that I might not have room for or it might have fit in one spot wasn't sure but here are the photos....

Yes that is the art I got on my wall.... Not sure if you can see the other Asia pictures by the same artist in the kitchen...

I'm hoping also to post a short version of pictures from Pride soon but we shall see.....

It was nice to run into (e:libertad) and mike...

Loved that big bike

The Dolls those kids made where great I didn't read about them but I thought they where pretty cool...

I saw some new stuff that wasn't there last year....

I know I had some other point that I forget.....

See (e:tinypliny) that is a good point..... I have heard that they last year got into it with some people going to the festival and got moved I have seen them before on North and Elmwood... Pride I wasn't around that area so I can't speak on the protesters .... Again though I don't think they are really protesting The Art or the people looking at the art maybe there is some art they don't like... I think they are just there to get their message out because they know a lot of people will be there.. But not sure really.....

If they protest everything, I wonder how they live their own lives... people in glass houses, perhaps?

1. In terms of food I didn't eat to much wish I was brave enough to try gator meat

2. Allentown Dress shop is famous for doing that... Didn't see them do it last year but it is back.... maybe I should have stood there and took video it is much better in person....

3. To be honest I don't think they are Protesters anymore.... I think they just show up to things where there are a lot of people to try and get the word out..... But I could be wrong about that......

Nice pictures. For me the art festival always becomes a food fest. Even more so the elmwood one as they have those delicious fried artichokes.

Its so crazy that the Christian protesters have started to protest everything. At first it was abortion and the pride parades but then they moved on to Thursday in the square, the Greek and Italian fests and now the art festival. I have a good confrontation plan involving a rape whistle close to the one with the loud speaker

Well I didn't get any pictures of the art besides the stuff I bought so to see that you would have to go to both that and Allentown West.... There was stuff on Allen at both places that I thought was really cool but that I didn't buy because I don't have a spot for it to rest on.... One was this like goat with critters on it and the other thing was bottle art.......

Mia 2010 Pole Dancing

So Music Is Art last year was great.... At the time things where kinda crazy so I don't think I could ever really figure out what to do picture wise so I figured why not try some slide shows this should be some dancers and a pole the duration is the standard 5 seconds....

Allentown Art Festival the blog I'm not writting

So the blog I want to write I really can't .... One reason for this is in the past I have tried to take pictures of the art on my walls but I don't know it never seems to look right with reflection or taking at an angle or the flash hits it... Plus there is that tricky copyright thing also to consider as well... What I wanted to do was take a picture of every piece of art that I remember buying at Allentown and posting it on here now in some cases I could give credit to the artist but some I have no idea who did it... The other issue is that some artists are both at Allentown and The Elmwood Festival of the arts......

Yes I have An issue with the Festival and how they Treated MIA.... But at the same time I get that you wouldn't want to have people hear rock music as they look at art... I thought when both Festivals went at the same time was when they both where the best...Cause lets face it The art fest is great but those crowds some times are argh plus at MIA there was dancing and music and Yes sometimes Burlesque ... Also back then MIA was 2 days and a lot of stuff any you might need a little break..... Hey one year after all that I'm Pretty Sure I saw Robby Takac so if he can still go so can I....

Now some might say that the Allentown West festival is the one to go to but way to packed most of the time.... That is just because of the street width though and then those stands and such....

Yes there seems to be some people who are at the art festival every year...And Yes some of them I have bought art I really like multiple years.. Yes some of these people get people to come see their stuff through mailers or other means... But I also That There are people who have edgy or dark art. I'm don't get the Jewelry thing my self if you want that get it someplace else and not an art fest but those people could say the same thing about the people who make masks.... I think it is good to have a good Variety and I think the Art fest should have one more block on Delaware and one of the streets that goes down should be another block or maybe on that small street....

On Facebook 464 gallery posted some time back a link for Allentown submissions I hope that some great local artists get in...That doesn't mean that I will like there stuff... Hoping to see some cool art and maybe by some I'm kinda like one of those heavy tattooed people who doesn't have much space left... I have seen in past years some amazing stuff that is just to much... Like here it looked painted but it is really layers of paper.... Then sometimes the best looking stuff you can't and trying might be even worse (people watching)... So for those that go have a great time......

Well I think this video has passed on Youtube not sure

So One odd thing is that since youtube has a 10 minute time limit if you have a bunch of pictures like me you have to change the duration .... Even if not I'm of the mind that you don't want to see one photo for 5 seconds even if the zoom does look pretty cool.... I couldn't find any way to change the duration to same time for all the pictures you have to do it for each one? Well here goes........

I still like the slide show Idea I think 3 seconds is good 2 seconds to fast and guessing 5 seconds is to long. But the slide shows I've seen and liked I didn't create.... But again with you tube being video it isn't like a picture site or other website where they have so many pictures and there isn't a time and you have a slider to determine how quick or slow it goes..... I think the answer since one has to upload all the pictures anyways is to do multiple slide shows...... That is what I will try next..... Thinking a good test for that might be Music Is Art Festival last year.... I had so many pictures I couldn't even begin to figure out a way to post them that seemed to make any sense really ...

Okay, I totally changed my mind about slideshows. I am not a big fan of this format. I mean I like the zoom but it goes way fast and there are some awesome pics in there that you can't barely see because they zoom by.

It was a good try though. Maybe instead just post your favorite 5-20 photos although in this case it is hard to do because there are so many good ones.

So the last time I tried this it didn't work...Now this is the same slideshow but I wonder if since I could see it but it hadn't cleared youtube yet if that is where the problem was so going to try and post again here goes....

I always had that concern. That is why I didn't allow youtube videos for years on estrip but gave way once google bought them. They have utilities to download the videos from youtube. You could do that to back them up.

Well looks like it works the one downside to this though is if anyone wants pictures of what went down for there other page or something doing it this way there really isn't that....Also what happens if youtube loses the video or gets ride of it or shuts down or something?
