Target Grocery Store

At the target store on Niagara Falls Blvd they gave a pretty good sized grocery store inside. I was surprised at the number of natural/organic things. They even had the Justin's hazelnut butter that (e:tinypliny) loves for $10. I bought it but I couldn't remember if that was a good price or not.

I was in some target once and found this huge food section and was shocked at how much they have... The one on Elmwood is going through all kinds of Changes cause they are doing the fresh or is it local produce thing.... Also they sell beer now I heard it started maybe is it 3 or 6 months ago....


Guerico's as I was traveling by bus I saw one of there produce trucks well assume it was since it was the same name parked on the side street of the co-op does that mean they get there produce from them?

I think I am going to slow roast my almonds (200F for 2 hours) and pour melted 88+% dark chocolate on them to make a fun snack.

But there is a chocolate drip over the almond in your photographs - almond butter boxes come with a plain almond photograph - I think... atleast, that's how it is on their website.

Actually, the one at Guercio's is also from NJ. I checked... and complained. I think even Mr. Guercio didn't realize all of it was from NJ. The NJ-made Canadian-marketed nutella is waaay more sugar than nutella should ever be. Its wayyyy to little hazelnut. So it's more like a cloyingly sweet chocolate spread with minimal nuts.

The almond butter was not chocolate just plain almond butter. I didn't check the nutella point of origin but I bet the one at guercios is from Italy.

Its looking better. You can see the burn hole in the nail and the deflated blister. I wonder long it will take to heel.

That is actually true. Peroxide does interfere with healing. Too much alcohol interferes with healing too. You shouldn't be applying either directly to the wound. Clean the rest of the toe with alcohol.

If you keep the toe dry and clean and don't walk around barefoot or even outside without a bandage, you shouldn't need much cleaning anyway. For cleaning the wound, you could simply wipe away the old ointment gently with a gauze piece and reapply. Taking the old ointment away is a good cleaning technique by itself without the need for alcohol.

I would suggest alcohol over peroxide. I had that scrape on my arm last year that I cleaned with peroxide all the time and it took forever to heal. After that someone told me to only use peroxide during the initial cleaning but not afterwards as it destroys the healing tissue along with the infection and lengthens healing time. Not sure if its legit or not but that scrape took months to heal. To be fair it also had little dirty chunks of main street embedded in it.

I think it might take around 6-7 weeks for the new toenail to grow back. Keep it absolutely dry and re-apply neosporin every 4-5 over the blister, over the hole and all over the nail and around it without fail. Its CRUCIAL to protect against wetness and any sort of infection if you want it to heal faster. Water should NOT get into that hole or into the blister at all.

Bachelorette Party

Last night was the bachelorette party for (e:matthew)'s cousin (e:Indo). It was interesting to see it from the inside. One of the highlights was playing pin the junk on the hunk but my favorite part was the spinich dip. One of the girls made the best spinich dip I ever had.

The party started here and then headed down to brick bar. Strangely, enough my brother (e:Mike) was at a bachelorette party for (e:mk) and we saw them out on Allen.

I also found what I think to be the sickest food ever.

Casu marzu (also called casu modde, casu cundhídu, or in Italian formaggio marcio) is a cheese found in Sardinia, Italy, notable for being riddled with live insect larvae. Casu marzu means "rotten cheese" in Sardinian and is known colloquially as maggot cheese.

Derived from Pecorino Sardo, casu marzu goes beyond typical fermentation to a stage most would consider decomposition, brought about by the digestive action of the larvae of the cheese fly Piophila casei. These larvae are deliberately introduced to the cheese, promoting an advanced level of fermentation and breaking down of the cheese's fats. The texture of the cheese becomes very soft, with some liquid (called lagrima, from the Sardinian for "tears") seeping out. The larvae themselves appear as translucent white worms, about 8 mm (1/3 inch) long. When disturbed, the larvae can jump for distances up to 15 cm (6 inches), prompting recommendations of eye protection for those eating the cheese.
