I was at the coop picking up more raw honey and they had two nut butter options. One was a clearance discontinued chocolate peanut butter. The other was very similar to nutella in consistency. I got the ingredients of both.
They also had nutella but I forgot to check the origin. Sorry tiny.
I am going to check it out tomorrow on the way back from Ballet class.
I think any Hazelnut chocolate creme spread is nutella anyway... I bet they bought their "Nutella" from Guercios (just as every 2nd thing in the coop), hiked the price up a couple dollars and out it on their shelves. In that case it will also be the NJ variety.
That was not the nutella. It was the stuff in the red topped jar to the left of the chocolate peanut butter.
I have noticed a very large number of discontinued things in the coop lately... I don't think I have ever seen that many orange labels all together. But unfortunately, so do the other people. By the time I spot the orange label, there is wide gaping gap where that discontinued thing was supposed to be.
Gaping Gap.. hahaha
But you did - it says "Product of Italy" under the ingredients... Over the last year, I tried out nearly 7 different types of hazelnut butter/nutella and didn't like any of them quite so much as justin's. There was this nutella called "Nocciolata Rigoni Organic" from italy (http://fiordifruttausa.com/nocciolata.shtml) that was somewhat better than the rest (but still worse and way too sweet compared with justin's). Nocciolata had:
Organic raw Cane Sugar, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Hazelnuts, Organic Cocoa, Organic Milk, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Vanilla, and Lecithin.
Justin's has:
Dry Roasted Hazelnuts, Organic Evaporated Cane Sugar, Organic Cocoa Powder, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Palm Fruit Oil, Natural Vanilla, Sea Salt.
I think I am ready to make my own real "nutella" at this point.
