Cleaning out the kitchen
Category: food
Cleaning of the kitchen I threw out anything I hadn't used in a year, anything I had a better version of, and any food that expired.

Six garbage bags later I feel much better about the state of the kitchen. We were borderline girders with all the crap that was stacking up.

Emptying the jello boxes for recycling I noticed sugar free jello is practically an empty box. Why don't they adjust the box size for that.

(e:tinypliny). I have both a food processor and wand blender that ate slated for trash. Want either of them? There are also two forms of popcorn Popper if anyone is interested.

hope you didnt throw out the jello!! havent you heard there is always room for J-E-L-L-O. :)
paul - 01/31/11 09:23
Sure. The only thing that's taken so far is the air Popper.
tinypliny - 01/30/11 23:49
I am taking that blender and food processor if my department mate says he wants them. Can I let you know tomorrow? Stop by in the evening, maybe?
dcoffee - 01/30/11 21:14
Food Processors are handy, I'd take it, but I have an extra one just like that :) I hope you send them to the Salvation Army or St Vinnie's if you can't find a better home for them.
metalpeter - 01/30/11 10:08
In Terms of the Jello I say Make Jello Shots!! In terms of the box size I bet if they make all the boxes the same size it is most cost effective you could use the same box for both products... Of course that assumes they do all the printing and art work in house as opposed to some other company doing it but it still might be cheaper.. But what I'm guessing is the real reason is a smaller box would be less text and less pretty pictures on the outside.... Also if other companies (do they make no name Jello?) have the same size box a smaller box might not get noticed on the shelf..... Again these are all just guesses......

Electric stoves make awful popcorn... atleast mine does.
paul - 01/29/11 19:30
I don't know why. I hate appliances. One is a air popper that uses no oil and the othet uses oil.

For me the best way to make popcorn is with oil on the stove. I really don't think the tbsp of oil is that excessive and it means not needing to have an extra appliances
tinypliny - 01/29/11 19:19
BTW, why do you have two poppers and why are you getting rid of them?
tinypliny - 01/29/11 19:14
I just bought a wand blender last month and really like it! :)

But I do know of someone that might make good use of both the wand blender and the food processor. It my department-mate who started all the debate because he apparently makes do with one blunt knife in his kitchen. I was appalled when he said that. I could take them from you and give it to him if you are sure that you are getting rid of them.

I would be interested in trying out both the popcorn poppers though. I am still trying to find the best way of popping plain corn without any butter or oil. I have tried stovetop - too messy, microwave bowl - iffy plastic, paper bags in microwave - eh...

I'm sure one of the guys from Jackass Knows they must! From what I have heard if you make it through Basic Training might be navy or marines not sure one of things they make you do or atleast they used to was make you take off your mask and tear gas a room..... I guess the point of it might be to teach you how to get out with out like freaking out or to be able to think in that kind of thing cause you could get gassed in a war and they can't have you start just firing off rounds and killing all your own guys..... Again Just a guess....
lilho - 01/29/11 14:19
i've been wondering what tear gas feels like. i want to know but not because i have experienced it... it's made in the us... how do we get some? not really, but kinda really. i bet one of the guys from jackass knows...
tinypliny - 01/29/11 03:26

Yummy Left Overs from Russel's
Category: food
I came home for lunch to finish up my birthday leftovers. They were so yummy. It's hard to believe but it was not fish. Well, I did have calamari and oysters as an appetizer.
