living far, far away
I don't like having to travel on a highway to get to parties at 24 Linwood. It makes me feel so far away from everything I used to be close to. (Granted, I could take Main Street the whole way, too...but the construction and lights drive me crazy). Oh well, it was still fun to stop by. I need to show my face more often, probably without my fuzzy companion who is not the most social person in the whole world...but I love him anyways.

Harmoniaaaaaa
If you missed out on Harmonia last night, you can still come see us sing on November 7th out in Orchard Park. I'm just putting this out there now to give plenty of notice :) I know it's a long drive, sooooo, I don't really expect anyone to come. If you did, however, I know you wouldn't be disappointed. You may even thank me. Hmm, probably not.

P.S. For every concert, I either email the faculty or I print out the fliers and put them in mailboxes. Last time, I only contacted the teachers who expressed interest. Still, in the two years I've been in the group, no one from my work has ever come...at all! Should I just give up or keep bugging people?

I have the flu.

Not that I mind staying home from school...but it's much more fun when you're actually healthy.

TLC
So today (e:anne) came over and we made dinner and then watched TV, something I don't do often at all. The TV part, that is. (e:anne) doesn't have cable, so she enjoys coming over to watch all of our channels. Anyway, we spent most of the evening watching TLC, and 2 of the 3 shows we watched revolved around morbidly obese people trying to improve themselves. I mean I know they're supposed to be inspirational but what is wrong with these people? I just don't get it! Once you hit like, 300, isn't that time to quit? I mean I know these people generally have severe psychological issues. But how sad!!!!! And all the time and money that is spent helping people who just need to eat less and move more...ugh. Ridiculous!!!!!

You saw the shows and I didn't so you have more info to figure out how they got that way. At first I think the same thing you think. But then if you think about it, getting that big makes sense. If you live a life style where you eat a lot and don't move around or have some condition that makes you gain weight then unless you change some things you would never stop growing. I think there becomes a point where that problem is to big to handle. You look at your self and see ugly so you stop caring about what you look like. If you move around then you at least burn some calories, but once you get to a point that moving hurts then you stop. Since you aren't doing anything you have more time to eat. I'm also guessing that a lot of these people have people helping them but that they aren't professionals so like them helping paying bills just hurts the person instead of helping them. One other factor is that you don't just get that big it is a little bit at a time so once you are heavy you might not notice the difference other in clothes sizes, but maybe they bought big sizes a head of time who knows?
