Halloween Party!
(e:dcoffee) and I had a great time last night! The house looked fabulous, as usual. You guys know how to throw a good party! The time flew by too... On the way home, the car said it was 3:40am. We got some good pictures, but we havent downloaded them off the camera yet. Maybe (e:dcoffee) can.
When we move into our New HOME, we are definitely going to have a house warming party, and You are all invited of course!

metalpeter - 11/01/08 16:52
Glad you two both had a good time, can't wait to see the pictures.
mmtornow - 11/01/08 14:34
I know, It has been a whole Year since I posted last.
We'll definitely let everyone know once we're in our house!
libertad - 11/01/08 13:05
Wow this is your first journal in a year because your last post was about Halloween too.
paul - 11/01/08 12:10
Thanks for coming out, glad you had a good time. Keep us posted about your house warming.
tinypliny - 11/01/08 10:36
It was an amazing party! I loved it. It was wonderful to see you both! For a while there, with all the posts, I admit you two seemed pretty unreal, and I was delighted to find that you totally are! Unreally perfect! :D

Halloween
I'm excited about the halloween party tonight! (e:dcoffee) and I will be there... probably around 9. I love getting dressed up, and this holiday is so fun.
I will just say that my costume is all about the duct tape. :-) ...Wait and see...
We'll see all you (e:peeps) tonight.
mmtornow - 10/28/07 20:50
Yea, it was a fun party. Nice decorations around the house too.

I did make duct tape shoes, but didn't end up wearing them because it was pretty cold out. I wore my tall black boots instead.

Good seeing everyone at the party!
tinypliny - 10/28/07 20:40
Oh, and I missed the shoes!! Were the shoes covered in duct tape too? That would have completed the Ducttape Cinderella!
tinypliny - 10/28/07 20:39
Really creative dress!! For a moment there, I had this vision of you standing in a dressmaker's parlor and being ducttaped (in a dressmaker way, and not in a I-am-going-to-kidnap-you-shut-the-hell-up way) by your friend. :)
paul - 10/28/07 11:59
Ya, your dress was awesome. Thanks for coming out.
metalpeter - 10/28/07 10:41
I just wanted to say that was a cool dress it really was. I will try to get pictures up soon but I have a delay because I don't want to download them on the family computer so I have to get them on disk first.

My Revolution passed away
Category: bad news
I woke up yesterday morning to a really terrible surprise.

My and (e:dcoffee) 's young energetic 1 1/2 year old cat "Revolution" had passed away during the night on Tuesday. This was completely unexpected- she was our healthy young cat. I still have no idea what happend.

It is such a shock, and I still am wondering where Revolution is, when I am home.

She was one of a kind... we called her our little puppy, because she loved to play fetch, and she loved to go outside, and would stand by the back door and meow to go outside, even if it was 10 degrees and snowing out!

She was so small, and all white, with two beautiful different colored eyes. She had such an expressive cute face. She always looked so busy thinking about things.

So beautiful...

Revolution and Dar napping in the sun...

Revolution LOVED her daddy (e:dcoffee)
image
So expressive. What's she thinkin about?
image
And she loved that black fuzzy pillow!
image
Oh look! what a cute present!
image
Our girls. Revolution loved to play.

And of course, she was an activist, a Revolution.

I will miss her soooo much

Need a place to get my haircut...
So, I'm calling out for some suggestions here...

I've lived in Buffalo for 1 1/2 years now, and I haven't found a good place to get my hair cut. I've had 3 total haircuts:

1st one at UB North campus in the campus center thing, just because I needed a haircut, and I had some time between classes... Never lived up there, actually hate the place... but whatever.

2nd and 3rd haircuts- I went to "Now Salon" near Allen and Elmwood, and although I'm not against this place, I just don't feel comfortable- it's so trendy and too upscale for me, and I can't even have a conversation with this girl that cuts my hair. Also women's haircuts start at $25 or $30.
Now maybe I'm just cheap, but where I'm from in the county, haircuts cost $12.

Does anyone know of a place around Buffalo that you can get a normal haircut- no frills- that is like $20 or under?

Thanks! :-)
tinypliny - 04/08/07 03:50
Are there any Fantastic Sam's in Buffalo? I have found that they usually have unusually skilled people. Here in Rochester, a haircut from them costs about $13 or $14 with a >20% tip.
museumchick - 02/08/07 10:29
I think Wal-Mart and Supercuts are about $15. I'm not sure how good the cuts are, though.
lilho - 02/07/07 22:32
i have been known to do a haircut or two...send an email my way...

Landlord Troubles
So, yea I just need to vent right now...

About a month ago, I got home from work to find a bunch of shit moved around my apartment- my heater unplugged and in the middle of the living room, the shower curtain moved, the coffee table moved... and I was pretty freaked out because we've had someone break into our apt before...
And then I thought that maybe it was my landlord who unplugged the heater, because he pays utilities and he's cheap. About an hour later, I found a little note on a used envelope on my kitchen table from the landlord "WAS IN APT. NO ELECTRIC HEATERS ALLOWED. - JOE".
I was like WTF- that is a home intrusion. So, I left a nasty message on his cell about coming into my apt without permission... and I never heard back from him.

Then again today, I came home to another note on the kitchen table... "WAS IN APT. NEED TO CUT HOLE IN BEDROOM WALL NEXT WEEK. NO ELEC HEATERS!- REMOVE FROM APT! -JOE" ... I was like oh nice, this asshole came into my apt again without any warning, while I was not home. So, I called his cell immediately to leave 2 nasty messages about how it how it is not okay to come into my apt without permission, and by the way, I use the elec heater because its really cold in the apt, and by the way, I want all these rules in writing.
So, then David gets home and I say "We had another home intrusion today from our landlord"....
And David says "Oh, yea. They left a message on the machine yesterday about that".

FUCKING NICE... That would have been a good thing to know.
Now we both feel like assholes.

brit - 01/11/07 19:52
I had the same thing before I moved in with (e:pmt). My landlord let himself in once when I was asleep. This is totally illegal and your landlord is breaking the law. He has to give you reasonable notice to come in and you have to be there. He is probably concerned about a fire fromthe heater but if it is not stipulated in the lease (that these are banned) then he doesn't have a leg to stand on. It makes me so mad......it makes judges mad too, you should see Judge Mathis on TV when landlords do this, he gives the defendent triple damages.
libertad - 01/11/07 18:50
ouch! Your landlord isn't a really old man is it?
