The upload button and chatterCategory: estrip
Adobe release Flash Player 10 today
It has a bunch of new security protections and a bunch of new features.
It also effected the way that the surebert flash player multi-file uploader worked. The new version I reprogrammed the other night is flash player 10 compliant. Luckily, I jumped on that because I had no idea they were going to launch it today.
If you don't have at least flash player 9 if will put a link there instead of the upload button.
While I was in there I also updated the chatter so that you can use ampersands and pluses.

under the journals, the "show more" only gives me the same ones over and over again....

One odd thing that happened with me is where it lists the latest journals by User Name when I click on the show more the list just doubles instead of showing the next persons name.

I fixed the comments, it was just a typo breaking it. No the sidebar has nothing to do with flash the only flash things is the sound and the uploads. Everything should be fine now at least in Safari and Firefox. I assume IE6 also but I haven't had time to check yet.

There is some odd behaviour going on.
1. When I click on the the comment bubble for a post which has comments, the comment form doesn't pop up; the page merely repositions to the top. The comment form turns up in posts with no previous comments.
2. The sidebar with active (e:peeps) is no longer showing up.
Is this a flash update related thing? Do we need to upgrade to flash 10?

Browser Stats for estripCategory: web
Firefox still is the top. Look how few people visit with safari. Reading mac news sites you would think it was like 90% of the web, lol.
Chrome is still nothing
However, I am srprised to see how many people are using IE 6 but then I realize that Roswell Park, where a bunch of us work, is still stuck back in 2001 browser technology land and it makes sense.

i hate IE 6. And now that apple has upgraded .mac to MobileMe, the webmail DOES NOT RUN in IE 6. In IE 7 you get a warning that it would be better in firefox/safari. but 6 just doesn't go at all.
Which sucks, b/c all the computers in Kaleida have IE 6 on them, and are locked down so you can't install anything else.
it blows.

I visit on my Blackberry all the time. I don't see that on there???? I really think that we just need more people on this site to buy Macs. Maybe the Mac should be the official estrip computer
That's all.

I went around Roswell's neanderthal policies and installed Firefox on my workstation. (Yeah, you can do that without admin rights. :D)

There is depending on how you count it another reason or reasons a lot of people Use Internet Explorer. Since that is what they have at work they are use to using it so when they compute at home they use the same thing. Also Firefox would be something you have to go download and see how it works and get used to it. I bet in terms of Safari there are a bunch of people who don't know they have it. I will use it some times. If you use an ipod like was used on this computer that is how you might get it.

The cost of estrip this monthCategory: server
Holy crap. My first FIOS bill from Verizon to serve estrip came today and it is $321!!
That is for one month and some weeks of service, plus setup fee, plus router, plus taxes. It looks like it will be about $115.00/month. So if anyone wants to/can donate that would be awesome as I pay for that all out of pocket. You can donate by clicking on the donate link above the userpics to the right.
