I suspect that this is the closest thing to an honest day's work he's ever put in, so I have to admit I feel conflicted. Does he deserve scorn or does he deserve praise for this effort?
I received an e-mail from Buffalo.com about a free "seminar" being hosted by the Buffalo News tonight regarding citizen journalism. I have a proper rant to launch on this topic later on. Suffice it to say, as usual I have found something (or things) to be skeptical about. Some of you may be compelled to see it my way - I'll lay out the evidence and let you decide.
Today I will find out if O3 Cafe in Snyder has decent food. O3 Cafe is located within the Snyder location of Everything Elmwood - there really is nothing like selling our neighborhood character to the burbs directly, is there?
Sorry - I am a technological Luddite when it comes to phones. I've solicited (e:paul)'s advice but I haven't gotten my bootleg Nokia phone yet. In other words, there will not be any pictures of the food!
I actually have a food question for y'all. I've heard of a few new local joints in and around Allentown have opened up. Seeing as I rarely make it south of West Ferry for anything other than booze, what can you guys tell me about the Quaker Bonnet and Steel Crazy?
I'm listing to Shredd and Regan on the Edge right now and the girl from Steel Crazy is on talking about hell's kitchen and stuff. She just mentioned the place in passing. When (e:liberated) goes I hope you take pictures. I Have never gone in because the metal looked out of my price range. It opens on Tues but I don't know if that is a soft opening or the grand opening. A soft opening is when a place just opens and is open in normal fashion with no hoopla or any thing like that then latter once all the kinks or what ever are worked Out I guess (not that there would be kinks) then they have a grand opening you can have both or neither.
(e:libertyenespan)ol -
I took a look at the web page (work in progress!) and read a brief article about it from Buffalo Rising, dated May 12. I thought that some of the comments were quite rude - some people are REALLY particular about the use of proper plates and silverware. Personally I think if the food is good I don't care if its served on newspaper.
When is she reopening? I was sort of hoping before the weekend, since I thought about swinging down there Saturday morning.
My friend Shayna just bought Steel Crazy. It is now called Steel Crazy by Bohemian Hostess. She was just on Hell's Kitchen and was recently voted off. Yet she is an awesome cook and I will be going to her grand opening I think so I'll let you know how it is.
steel crazy has food??
Quaker Bonnet: GREAT sandwiches. A half sandwich is equivalent to 1.5 sandwiches elsewhere. And yes, AWESOME cookies. Their sandwiches are a bit dry so you'd be better off getting some hummus on them, perhaps. See mini review here: (e:tinypliny,44268) and zobar's comment here: (e:tinypliny,44218) But I pretty much said what I said here, so you can skip clicking on the links.
Quaker Bonnet does good work. They used to be just a bakery a thousand years ago on Elmwood (not to far from you) I had lunch there a few weeks ago and it was good times.
