Today Might be the Day!
Category: estrip
I hear that (e:enknot) + megan may have their baby today. They are at the hospital now! Keep them in your thoughts!
jenks - 09/25/07 16:14
so crazy.... today in the car I all of the sudden had "megan had the baby" vibes.
Fingers crossed! Anyone know which hospital?
mrmike - 09/25/07 13:24
Good vibes to em
museumchick - 09/25/07 12:43

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
Category: work
Lots of lots of jobs...

Yikes!

I am getting called like crazy today.
paul - 09/24/07 16:52
I am glad I am not getting calls for job. I think people probably got sick of me saying no, lol. NO seriously, I don't know how you schedule it all together. I never want to have more than one boss ever again.
james - 09/24/07 13:59
Just don't forget me when you are busy programing
;_;

he he, how was that for cloyingly needy? Take that Ben!
libertad - 09/24/07 13:01
I wish I were getting called for jobs...I have a craigslist ad out for cleaning, but nobody wants me :( Not so sure I'll have dollars for the estrip buffet. We will see.

E:Strip Organizer Meeting / Buffet Night
Category: estrip
So, Paul and I were talking earlier today about ways to advertise the site and let people know we're here. Showing up to Blogtoberfest en masse helped... but there's plenty more to do.

I suggested to Paul that everyone who is interested meet in person and try to figure out a plan. Paul - can we set something up at your place in the next couple weeks?

Who is up for such a thing?

BUFFET NIGHT

Also, the Buffet night will probably Wed October 10th, around 7pm. Details to follow, save the date.
jim - 09/24/07 17:46
If it doesn't get too late we'll have the meeting about site promotion after the buffet night, possibly over a drink somewhere close by.

Does anyone have a buffet suggestion? India Gate is the default choice, but I'm open to other ideas.
metalpeter - 09/24/07 17:22
I can't commit yet and say I will be there hopefully I will that date sounds like something. That being said I do have a few ideas (not sure if they are good ideas or not).
drew - 09/24/07 09:23
(e:janelle) and I are in.
mrmike - 09/24/07 07:48
I'd be up for it.

hey did those nice old timers get an estrip bumper sticker?
mike - 09/23/07 17:28
nice pictures! That old couple were so freakin cute!
jim - 09/23/07 17:18
Thanks!

I am trying to use the external flash in such a way that it adds just enough light to a photo to make it come out, but not so much that you lose the background.

Usually with flash the subject of the photo is brightly lit and it looks like they are in a cave, because of the imbalance in light sources.
dragonlady7 - 09/23/07 17:05
whoa nice pics. :)

See, I was right-- my skirt was totally longer than that dude's lederhosen. Why the #)($&! were people staring at me like that????
metalpeter - 09/23/07 16:30
Nice pictures, they all came out like it wasn't even dark at all, great job and thanks for posting them.

Favorite Five Albums of All Times?
Category: quiz
Post your list of your favorite five albums/cds/etc of all time. Either as a comment here or in your own journal. You don't need to add links to your list like I did.

Massive Attack, Mezzanine
Pixies, Doolittle
Violent Femmes, Violent Femmes
Jane's Addiction, Ritual de lo Habitual
Towa Tei, Best

I completely skipped all my favorite D&B albums and a few other categories too... a more accurate list wouldn't be quite this rock and roll.

So, what's your all time favorite music? We just did this list sharing thing on my photo group, and it's interesting to see what everyone's personal soundtrack is.
museumchick - 09/25/07 12:45
I can't narrow it down to five! heh. The self-titled Violent Femmes album is one of my favorite's, though.
jbeatty - 09/23/07 11:59
Even though I get five this is still difficult, in no particular order:

Dots and Loops - Stereolab

Mood Swing - Joshua Redman

Speaking of Now - Pat Metheny Group

The Grand Wazoo - Frank Zappa

Radiohead - OK Computer

Top ten would have been slightly easier.
paul - 09/23/07 11:40
Kimya Dawson - My Cute Sweet Friend

Echt - Freischwimmer

The Long Winters - The Worst You Can Do is Harm

R.E.M - Life's Rich Pagaent

The Postal Service - Give Up

Similar to what (e:jim) said this lacks all electronic music which is actually most of what I listen to.
james - 09/23/07 11:33
1) Nick Drake - Pink Moon

2) Nico - The Marble Index (John Cale's production is awesome!)

3) Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernal (avant-guard prog-metal)

4) Joni Mitchell - Blue

5) The Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
