Euro conversions I can afford!Category: travel
Thank God for my European friends. I'm not sure I would have discovered this on my own. I leave for Germany in 8 days. To save my precious time while I'm there I would like to hop between some countries with flights versus train. I seriously just found a flight from Germany to Sweden for 15 Euro! Ok I know you can't get there by train anyway, but that's just an example. Even more crazy than that...a FREE flight to Ireland! This is most helpful since I've been dicked over on my pay. Plus I just found out my uncle is still in Paris, so I have a place to crash. Man I need this mental vaca so bad, even though the amazing sex last night blissfully calmed my nerves.
leavin oooooon a jet plaaaaaane, don't know when I'll be back againnnnn....

Even though it isn't for about a week I hope you have a great time traveling Europe. Vacations are a great way to get away mentaly. Is there some stress in planing them of course but it is always great to escape and go somewhare.

dear guestCategory: potpourri
I haven't been able to get into my post-its for a while. Last night I finally got in and there was a surprising message from a guest. It says, "love you more than you'll ever know". I can read that several different ways. Is it from a sibling, a friend, a stranger, guy, girl? No matter what the context, it made me smile. So I want to say thanks. I know it was sent last week, but I got to it at just the right time.

Firstly I will admit that is awesome someone left you a note like that (no mater how they ment it, in some instances that would be even more awesome). I will admit I had nothing to do with it and have no idea who left it. That new user pic of yours is verry interesting. To be honest I wouldn't know it was you if it wasn't on your journal. That isn't a put down nor is it really a compliement you just look a lot differant in it but maybe it is just the lighting not sure. In any event have a great weekend.

120 hoursCategory: depressed
I'm back from Boston but I'll talk about it in a later post. There is something more pressing on my mind right now. The 'promotion' I got has bit me in the ass.
I was under the persuasion that I was taking on these responsibilities and would be compensated. Today I find out that instead of being paid the 2 grand, this job has been turned into a 3rd internship for me. I don't get paid and I have to complete an additional 120 hours. This means I'm going to be working full-time to the end of the semester and not getting one extra dime.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I feel like I've just been given a prison sentence for a crime I didn't commit. I guess there is a reason I identify with La Femme Nikita.
Fuck me.

I am strangely reminded of a Seinfeld episode where George winds up getting a promotion that gives him a lot more responsibilities with litle or no extra pay.
Just remember, employer-employee loyalty should be a two-way street. And if they aren't taking care of their lane, don't feel bad about telling them to hit the highway.
Did they really tell you that you'd earn $2000 extra? Is it on paper?

Recent details in my life:
My brother-in-law Casey just got done filming an episode of The Sopranos in NYC. He got to meet Steve Buchemi. Lucky. I'd post a pic but this computer refuses to cooperate on such a simple task.
Had lunch with (e:Chico) today. I always feel like I'm being naughty when I eat lunch in the faculty lounge! You see, you have to be super VIP like (e:Chico) to get in. It was nice to escape the chaos of my office for an hour today, so thanks again! Plus, we discovered we write our F's the same. Like this:
My co-worker, the one I said makes me want to hang myself, was demoted. On the flip side, I was promoted. I am taking over half of her job. I'm really hoping the pay will follow.
I making some progress with my inner self. I have clearly been set on the back burner by some people I thought were close friends. They would much rather spend their time with new found friends. The old me would have been hurt by this. The new me is cool with it. I know it's nothing I did. Humans in general like novelty. Toys, clothes, friends...it's all the same. But this new outlook does not negate 'the line'. You cross it too many times...you will never come back in my life.
I sat at home on v day and watched Breakfast at Tiffany's. No big deal.
I am going to Boston this weekend and I'm stoked. I really need a mental vaca and this is just the treat. I love Boston. I'll get to see my friends, visit old hang outs, and scout out some potential employment. This makes me very happy.
Keeping with the travel theme, I managed to bag my ticket for Europe at a fantastic $400!!! A long overdue visit to Germany and Poland coupled with visits to friends in Belgium and France, it should be a most enjoyable adventure. Besides, my passport is itching for more immigration stamps.
I miss some people.

ooh Hurray! They did right by promoting you. perhaps the money will follow-- along with a kick butt addition to your resume! For the sake of the students, the college did a really good thing by demoting 'simonides social doppleganger, Gruelia' :X
I am so happy for the college kiddos- as we talked about- this is a really wonderful experience for them to know that they have a voice and that it was heard and things changed. They love you and appreciate your support. And hurray for Boston! I LOVE it when things work out. Cheers!!!!!!!
PS I have yet to see Breakfast at Tiffanys- it looks cute. btw I was my own valentine, hehe :)

P.s. Ryan and Merritt asked about you the other day, since they realized the one year anniversary of meeting us is coming up. (no shit, they actually noticed the anniversary and brought it up.)

First of all I hope you have a great little mini vacation this weekend. I also hope that when you go to europe you have a great time also, I'm sure you will.
In terms of the friends thing Just because someone dosn't want to hang out with you or they have new friends dosn't nessarcrly mean that they don't care about you or don't like you. I know if one of my buddies saw Pictures of me at an (e:strip) party he might think that. But in my case I never call any of my friends not because I don't like them but cause I need time to myself on the weekends. During Football season I have my rutine. I used to go about 2 blocks away from his house on the bus every morning. So I do think about him (oh god that sounds so homosexaul, I mean it in a stictly sright way) and wonder how he is doing. Sometimes people do change and arn't close anymore or they change social circles. I'm glad you arn't letting it bother you.

Yes! The international fest at Canisius is highly recommended.
I remember that time long ago when I hooked up with that Hawaiian girl with the gorgeous smile... and the food was great too!
