Jerk chicken 45 minutes late.
European sausage 30 minutes late.
$50 short on the empanadas.
However... I managed to coordinate almost 200 volunteers and round up raffle prizes upward of $3,000 and made around $500 on raffles tickets. I'm proud of myself. It was a LOT of work.
Now just as soon as we wrap everything up, I want to go to bed.

Euro conversions I can afford!Category: travel
Thank God for my European friends. I'm not sure I would have discovered this on my own. I leave for Germany in 8 days. To save my precious time while I'm there I would like to hop between some countries with flights versus train. I seriously just found a flight from Germany to Sweden for 15 Euro! Ok I know you can't get there by train anyway, but that's just an example. Even more crazy than that...a FREE flight to Ireland! This is most helpful since I've been dicked over on my pay. Plus I just found out my uncle is still in Paris, so I have a place to crash. Man I need this mental vaca so bad, even though the amazing sex last night blissfully calmed my nerves.
leavin oooooon a jet plaaaaaane, don't know when I'll be back againnnnn....

Even though it isn't for about a week I hope you have a great time traveling Europe. Vacations are a great way to get away mentaly. Is there some stress in planing them of course but it is always great to escape and go somewhare.

dear guestCategory: potpourri
I haven't been able to get into my post-its for a while. Last night I finally got in and there was a surprising message from a guest. It says, "love you more than you'll ever know". I can read that several different ways. Is it from a sibling, a friend, a stranger, guy, girl? No matter what the context, it made me smile. So I want to say thanks. I know it was sent last week, but I got to it at just the right time.

Firstly I will admit that is awesome someone left you a note like that (no mater how they ment it, in some instances that would be even more awesome). I will admit I had nothing to do with it and have no idea who left it. That new user pic of yours is verry interesting. To be honest I wouldn't know it was you if it wasn't on your journal. That isn't a put down nor is it really a compliement you just look a lot differant in it but maybe it is just the lighting not sure. In any event have a great weekend.

120 hoursCategory: depressed
I'm back from Boston but I'll talk about it in a later post. There is something more pressing on my mind right now. The 'promotion' I got has bit me in the ass.
I was under the persuasion that I was taking on these responsibilities and would be compensated. Today I find out that instead of being paid the 2 grand, this job has been turned into a 3rd internship for me. I don't get paid and I have to complete an additional 120 hours. This means I'm going to be working full-time to the end of the semester and not getting one extra dime.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I feel like I've just been given a prison sentence for a crime I didn't commit. I guess there is a reason I identify with La Femme Nikita.
Fuck me.

I am strangely reminded of a Seinfeld episode where George winds up getting a promotion that gives him a lot more responsibilities with litle or no extra pay.
Just remember, employer-employee loyalty should be a two-way street. And if they aren't taking care of their lane, don't feel bad about telling them to hit the highway.
Did they really tell you that you'd earn $2000 extra? Is it on paper?

Yes! The international fest at Canisius is highly recommended.
I remember that time long ago when I hooked up with that Hawaiian girl with the gorgeous smile... and the food was great too!
