I was surfin' aboot (all Canucks say "aboot", eh) while waiting for the laundry today (Oh, don't get jealous, ya'll, i know my life is too exciting!) and found a few sites i think are rather amusing.
MyCatHatesYou dot com Under the MCHY banner, the heading "CATS" has archives of all the many many goofy cat pictures. I will admit, i giggled.
The Infinate Cat Project was interesting. 1400 cats looking at cats looking at cats. Who would have thought?
And from the Kitten War peeps, we have Cats In Sinks
And to think, this cat thing all started when i was looking for a new cat cam to replace RandyCam and found JeffCam
Happy Cating...
Well, except for those that say they hate cats... yeah, i mean you (e:Paul) ! *grin*

NFTA Customer ServiceWhen i could not find the information i needed (where to purchase tokens for the bus) on their website, i called NFTA. I was transfered a few times, i got the information, then i mentioned having the info on the website would be good. I was then transfered to customer service. There, i spoke to a very rude man named Roy or Dave (or his supervisor's name is Roy or Dave) who told me to call his supervisor... and some other fun things like telling me i am a stupid bitch. I called back after he hung up on me. Left a message. Silly me, though, i gave them (e:Uncutsaniflush)'s cell phone number. While doing that, (e:Uncutsaniflush) found the direct number of some big wig, the exectutive director. I called and talked to his assistant. She was appropriately outraged. This time, i remembered to give her the correct number.

HA...my aunt's ex-husband aka my former uncle, is named Dave and he works at NFTA. I wonder if that was him.

I'm not sure how much the effort tokens are. I believe the savings are not too significant. Not sure how much you are using the bus, but maybe just having a 1.50 on hand would be easier? If you take it everyday a Flash Pass for $44 (Last time I bought one several years ago) could be useful as in convenience more than savings. A flash pass is good for a month. Tops sells them. That wasn't very nice how they treated you.

I'm sorry about your experience with the NFTA. I also find their phone line to be difficult to use. It sucks that they were so rude to you.
I think you can buy bus tokens at the bus station on 181 Ellicott Street. There's a little vendor for it towards the front of the station.

Is Me Being Me Enough?I am just taking a small break from dusting. We have quite a bit of dark wood furniture and the dust really shows.
In our dinning room, a place with lots of dark wood, i have a birthday gift displayed that a friend gave me recently which reminded me of something i found kind of odd.
When someone gives a gift, i realize some find it important to mention that the gift can be returned if it is not liked. But is it really important to tell the person to go look at the store to see if something might be better suited? I liked the gift i was given. I like the fact that someone picked something out for me, and even remembered that i mentioned i liked it when we were in the store back last summer. Why do i need to go to the store and see what else they have? How else can i tell someone i don't need to go to the store to take a look? Am i not being happy enough about the gift?
I would think it is an isolated situation, but something similar happened over the xmas holidays with this same friend. I was given a gift and the person giving it thought i didn't like it even though i said i did. They even took it back from me and gave me something i like less, because some how, me saying "very pretty" wasn't enough.
Is it me? Am i supposed to jump for joy? Isn't the way i react good enough? Or the right way to react?

I agree with jenks. Sounds like insecurity to me.

What it sounds like is happening is that someone is misreading your body language. Often people say they like something but they don't want to be rude so instead they lie and say that they like something. But sometimes body language shows that someone isn't be honest so they assume that you arn't telling the truth. I think it is a good idea to let people know that if they arn't happy with something they can return it or exchange it. One reason for that is just because someone likes something dosn't mean they want one. An example from my life is that I used to love to play pinball. When I first moved in my place I was going to put a machine in one of my rooms. Now I don't have space for it. As much as I would love a pinball machine if someone bought me one I'm not sure as I would really want it. Hope that was a help.

No. It's not you. I think she's being insecure about her gift-giving. And taking it back and giving you something different is ridiculous, in my book.

Recent Discoveries1) Sometimes, friends and complications of friendships make me cry. When i find out i have unintentionally hurt a friend and the only way they can find to mention it is to be bitter, i feel twice as bad. But i think that may have been the intention. If i had known, i would have made ammends. No wonder i withdraw from people...

I'm A Lucky GirlFor more reasons that i can count, i'm fortunate. More than anything, it's because of who loves me.
I am married to someone who rarely makes a big fuss for me on my birthday, during xmas, or valentine's day.
Instead, every day, day in and day out, he makes a fuss about how much he loves me. He doesn't seem to need a reason to get me flowers; to write me a little note; to send me a special email. All of it just to tell me he thinks i'm swell, his bestest girl.
Sure, i could have met and married someone who would give me diamonds on my birthday and send me chocolate and flowers on valentine's day.
But i met someone better. Someone who appreciates me every day. And doesn't need a reason to tell me.
I think he's swell.
I'm a better person for knowing him.

That reminds me very much of my grandparents. I never got to see how sweet my grandfather was until after they had both passed away and I was reading my grandma's cards she had gotten from him over the years. He was the same way - so sweet and so in love with my grandma and always told her. I remember hoping so much that I find someone just like that, and you seem to have done that! How great for you both :)
