e:sighting?
At the downtown BAC tonight around 6:30 pm, I was on a treadmill next to someone who was a dead ringer for (e:jill) , but I assume it was just a case of my overactive imagination.
chico - 12/19/06 16:47
Eek! Glad I didn't say anything, haha.
mike - 12/18/06 22:19
unless (e:jill) secretly rejoined the BAC without me, I doubt it. We were members for like a month, but quickly realized exercise is just not our thing.

random cityscape pics from summertime
A random walk through some old subfolders turned up the 7.6 bazillion photos I took while apartment hunting in Buffalo over the summer. I was in the Elmwood area, the Gates Circle area, the little neighborhood north of the zoo, and knocking around Hertel... anyway, long story short, here's some of the pics. I'm not sure if it's because chica and I were drooling over snow tires on TireRack.com tonight, but I am finding all the summer foliage shots comforting.

It might not look like much now, but in about a week, I'm sure this garage off Gates Circle is going to look awfully tempting...

Sunday Morning Coming Down
Category: the day after
Great party PMT. Happy Birthday again, (e:enknot) , yeah you're old.

Had a really good time meeting new people, playing "tree" to the sugar gliders, and trying to avoid being swept off the roof by a gust of wind.

Many thanks to (e:zobar) , (e:dragonlady7) , and (e:jenks) ' friend Tracee for offering rides home. If we successfully repopulate B-lo maybe we can get the Metro to run after 12 midnight and I will not have to rely on the kindness of (e:peeps) (at least so many of you are so kind).

I'm not so much hung over, just tired...been a while since I was out till 4 am. I know (e:chicoschica) would've been dancing till dawn if she was there, though.

In conclusion, I offer you a poor-quality YouTube clip of Johnny Cash singing "Sunday Morning Coming Down."

strange request

Anyone know of places to look for "interesting" fish bowls?

My sister's boyfriend has some kooky decorating idea for their apt in Jersey City and has asked for interesting fish bowls for Christmas.

Any ideas? Or anyone out there who is able to design & decorate ordinary fishbowls in interesting and artful ways?

chico - 12/10/06 12:32
Many thanks to everyone who made fishbowl suggestions... I'm going to track down these leads just as soon as I can. Cheers!
joshua - 12/08/06 16:16
Find a glass blower that usually does bongs and see if they'd do a fishbowl.

Otherwise... try The Fish Store. They are in the phone book.

Mexico ;)

Arg.... (e:Uncutsaniflush) and i were out recently and saw interestingly shaped fish bowls (one was a fish, i think) made of glass and for the life of me i cannot remember where!! May have been Steve's Pets out in Williamsville... Maybe Petsmart?

That probably wasn't much help, huh?

We used to keep our betta fish in weird-shaped flower vases-- go to Michael's or Bed Bath & Beyond or the like.
We have one that looks like a brandy snifter (holds about a half-gallon), one that looks like a (32-oz) martini glass, and one that looks like a (64-oz) hurricane glass.

The martini glass isn't really very good for the fish, though. It's ok in terms of surface area and the like, but the optics fuck with the poor fooshies' heads. We don't keep fish in that one anymore. But it's sitting in our 15-gal fishtank as a decoration, which is cute when the catfish latches onto the side of it like some kind of desperately confused miniature alcoholic.
