Happy Halloween

In celebration of Halloween this year, elmwoodRADIO will be airing Orson Wells original 1938 brodcast of H. G. Well's "War Of The Worlds".

On October 30th, 1938, the United States experienced mass hysteria--most pronounced on the east coast in New York and New Jersey--in response to a radio broadcast put on by Orson Welles and his Mercury Theater On The Air. The public reaction has prompted decades of research into mass hysteria, been used as a model by the military around the world to design information warfare against enemy troops and civilian populace, and used as the most compelling reason to protect the public from the knowledge of the presence of aliens on Earth.

Winamp 5 television Radio

Winamp 5 has television stations. About as many as cable it seems. For the rest of the evening we are streaming Siffle and Ollie live from winamp television on our radio. Winamp 5 is free here

It is 1000% more comprehensive than iTunes. The addition of television is great. We are going to start an elmwood television show. Who want to be a part of it?

Short Excerpt From Bio on their site :
In it's 3 year history, Hesperus had emerged out of the dying city of Buffalo, NY as a truly original and intense forse. Inspired by such ground-breaking artist Led Zepplin and Radiohead. The Band's all orginal music is also laced with elements of U2 and The Doors. Although primarily a modern rock band, their music stylistically ranges from Eat Indian to Latin to Electronic and classical. It is this diversity that makes hesperus unforgettable intense to experience live.

Paul's Two Cents: They sound lot like one of my favorite bands - the Tea Party.

Here are some songs to download, they will also be playing on the radio all day.
Rise -
The Arbor -
Hope -
Tip My Hat -

Their Site: :
Short Description of the Band from their mailing: If you like your music hard with a touch of aggression and a smig'n of attitude.... HANABI brings to you:
- best postcore/hardcore band in Indiana!
- you think your a good drummer, you won't after you see this band
- you think you can play guitar, you will sell yours after this show
- for the bassist in you... forget about it.. not a chance

Here is a song to download, they will also be playing on the radio all day.

What's Up with the radio?

I would like to start to offer more local programming and get people interested in it but it will require someone else making the shows as I have no time to organize it. You can send us the shows on CD if you would like. Please try and refrain from using copyrighted content.

I would like to encourage someone to make a talk show with interviews of local bands accompanied by their music. We could also use a local politics talk show. Anyone have time or interest? Maybe even a radio show about food in buffalo? A poetry show? Anything is possible. Email elmwood radio by clicking on the email elmwood link in the link list under the radio userPic on the radio journal if you have any questions. Alternatively, you can simply send CDs to the following address. MP3 or regular audio CDs are acceptable.

Send CDs to
Elmwoodstrip.com

Today we are playing "The Postal Service." For band details and album purchase info click here [inlink]radio,41[/inlink]
